Welcome to the Maple Sugar Shack, a cozy themed tiny house designed to capture the charm and tradition of Vermont’s maple sugaring culture. Located at Uncommon Accommodations on a peaceful 14-acre property near Stowe and Smugglers’ Notch, this small but thoughtfully designed retreat offers a fun and authentic Vermont experience with shared access to a year-round outdoor hot tub and a treehouse barrel sauna.

Inspired by classic New England sugar shacks, the interior featureswarm wood tones, buffalo check accents, and playful maple-themed details that create a snug, welcoming atmosphere. Informational touches about Vermont maple sugaring and locally inspired decor make the stay feel unique and memorable. The tiny house includes a kitchenette for simple meals, comfortable sleeping lofts, a private bathroom, and a small deck for enjoying fresh mountain air.

Guests have access to over 2,000 feet of frontage on the Lamoille River with swimming holes and peaceful spots to relax by the water. The property offers a quiet natural setting while still being just minutes from restaurants and essentials in Johnson village.

The shared hot tub and elevated treehouse barrel sauna are open year-round and provide a relaxing way to unwind after a day of exploring. Guests can also enjoy campfire areas, walking paths, and high-speed Starlink WiFi.

The location is ideal for experiencing northern Vermont. Historic Johnson village is five minutes away. Stowe Mountain Resort is about 30 minutes away, Smugglers’ Notch Resort is about 20 minutes away, and Jay Peak Resort is under an hour. The nearby Lamoille Valley Rail Trail offers biking, walking, and snowmobiling. The region is known for maple farms, craft breweries, hiking, skiing, and classic Vermont scenery in every season.

Parking is available near the tiny house, with additional parking and EV charging in the upper lot. Guests share some amenities with other unique rentals on the property, creating a friendly retreat atmosphere while preserving privacy.

The Maple Sugar Shack is ideal for couples or small groups looking for a cozy, whimsical getaway that celebrates Vermont character, outdoor adventure, and simple comforts.

We look forward to hosting you.

Everything was wonderful! It was enough room for myself and my partner! The hot tub was wonderful on the cool Vermont nights and the entire property was wonderful to explore.

The Sugar Shack was a cozy, warm, and beautiful stay. My wife and I enjoyed our time in the Northern Kingdom and having this little slice of heaven to come back to in the evenings was perfect. The house was clean, check-in and check-out was as smooth as it could be. The host is very attentive and quick to respond to any and all questions. I would gladly stay here again.

Nice tiny home with river view, perfect for a short getaway. We had a great time hanging out on the deck. The only complaint was that the water pressure in the shower was really low, I don't know if that is just how it is or something was wrong while we were there.

Exactly what we were looking for! Quiet, relaxing and cozy. The only improvement could be blinds on the window for the door for a little privacy but everything was perfect.

The Sugar Shack is a cozy and comfortable “tiny home” on a beautiful piece of riverfront land. We were two old friends looking to spend a few days skiing and reminiscing amidst natural beauty. This place felt like our own green mountain retreat, and a great way to have our own space with fun amenities without renting an entire ski chalet. The hot tub at the center of the various tiny homes on the property is the perfect spot to relax after a day of skiing. Our host was communicative and helpful throughout the stay. I’m hoping to return at some point in the future (it looked like a cool A-Frame cabin would be the next addition to the property), and now find myself glancing at listings for vacant land in Vermont.

My daughter, dog and I loved our stay at the tiny house. The Barbie theme was adorable and we loved the location on the river not far from Stowe. We took the dog on some great walks along the river and up to the waterfall. Maisy was so helpful and incredibly responsive to our questions. I definitely would need more room for a longer stay but it was perfect for the weekend.

My husband and I visited with our two small dogs to ski for a few days at Stowe. The property is accurate to listing, clean and cozy for two. Communication with the property owner was easy, and prompt. We would definitely stay again to ski and visit in warmer weather. We enjoyed the hot tub post ski. Thank you for a great stay!
