Stayed Apr 13, 2026The house was very clean and well appointed. There is plenty of space indoors. We enjoyed the views and the conversation with our friends. We did not attempt to use the TV screen. There are two very nice porches. The one in the back has a hot tub and grill. From it we saw deer and squirrels as well as heard turkeys gobbling. The porch in the front has a nice view of the valley and next mountain. We did not cook. We went out to eat once each day. The local pubs have good food at reasonable prices. For other meals we had leftovers, snacks, and cereal. Mobility challenged folks may not like the stairs. We had record breaking heat for April. The listing says it is air-conditioned. A note on the refrigerator says that the air conditioning is not working. After one hot night, we learned to cool the house down by opening the doors, windows as darkness approaches, and by using the fans. We had to close them as storms approached and reopen them as they passed. I think we should have been notified before paying that the air was not working. The lack of air reminded us of the primitive camping that we no longer do. All in all, the stay at the house was a good experience for long distance friends to reconnect.

Stayed Feb 12, 2026The place is amazing and we will cherish the great memories. There were a couple of little things that prevent a higher rating. First, the interior lighting is very harsh and takes away from the ambiance of the lodge. Second, there was a ladybug infestation that made for some unpleasant situations (e.g. crawling on pillows, climbing on toothbrushes)

Stayed Oct 3, 2025The house was clean as was the hot tub. The grill and fire pit were in great condition. Covered deck and porches were lovely with a beautiful view. Kitchen well stocked with a bowl of fresh fruit to welcome us. Hosts were very responsive. Not much to do nearby. Nice hiking 35-45 minutes away. Very relaxing place to stay.

Stayed Aug 28, 2025Clean, well stocked rental in a quiet but well-situated location among the farms and forests of central PA. Very nice modern kitchen, comfortable beds. Lots of coffee, paper towels & even a bowl of fresh fruit were provided. Loved the grill, fire pit, hot tub and decks for outdoor relaxation. Near the lovely towns of Bellefonte and State College, with plenty of good options for dining and shopping. For the fishermen, Penns, Spring, Bald Eagle, and Fishing Creeks are all within a 30 min drive. We would happily return for another stay at Maple Hill Lodge.

Stayed Feb 14, 2025This property is amazing, the host has provided you with almost everything you need. For a very relaxing stay, we were pleasantly surprised that on their wall they have a little section where people can sign it, which was really nice. We will keep this in our saved list because we will most shortly go back.
