The house was great, hosts were quick to respond and helpful, the location is great, and was close enough to make the drive to PSU nice and easy. Repeat customer for sure.
Great house in a beautiful location. Highly recommend it.
This was an excellent VRBO! The location was great with access to a variety of activities. Seven Mountains Wine Cellars was a mile away and also provided for a great visit to the VRBO. The place was clean, accessible and very comfortable . Loved the front porch in the evening.
The house was WONDERFUL! Off the beaten path and quite. It was clean comfy and the property manager was very helpful and accessible. We had a great time and would recommend it and would stay there again ourselves.
Amazing weekend with friends competing in the Wilderness 101 mountain bike race! Fantastic property in a beautiful setting. It was a great home base for us. Great escape for the weekend. Close to State College as well. Will and Dana were great hosts! We will be back again soon.
We had a nice time at the cottage. Everything was very nice and the accommodations were perfect.
The bedrooms were perfect and the kitchen was very roomy and well set up. Nice to site on the deck after riding all day and grill and chill. Host was very helpful. I’d definitely stay again
Great place with amazing hosts! Highly recommended.
My family and I stayed here for PSU graduation weekend. It was a short drive to Penn State and all of the graduation festivities. The cabin is lovely. Plenty of room for everyone, to have their own bedroom. It was so nice to be able to seat everyone together, at the dinner table. The kitchen was very spacious. The living room fireplace was enjoyed by all in the early morning and in the evening. The beds were very comfortable. There were plenty of towels. Everything was clean. The hosts were wonderful, helpful and responsive. The only thing that I would note, as a caution, it that this cabin is very old and has different levels of flooring to transition from one area of the house to another. For instance there is a step down when going from kitchen to living room and in the upstairs hallway and bathroom there are transitions. This proved to be somewhat of a challenge for the elderly grandparents, in our family. They had difficulty seeing the transitions. This could also be a concern for families with toddlers. Just something to be aware of. Our family enjoyed our stay. I would highly recommend the Lost Dutchman Retreat. We are looking forward to a return visit soon!
Great place with an awesome cozy feel. Location was perfect close enough but far enough!
Although we didn't spend much time at the house, other than sleeping, we found it very clean, plenty of towels and cozy. A bit off the beaten path. No wifi but my tmobile worked great. Others in our party had reception issues.
This property was perfect for our family Thanksgiving. We had lots of space for our whole crew. We cooked, ate and did fun activities like playing board games and card games as a family. It was fun not having Wi-Fi!
Everything was just as described. Spacious but cozy. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen area was super - nice big table for dinner for 6 and for playing games afterwards. Loved not having wifi!
2nd stay here. Generous host with great communication!
Wonderfully remote. Enjoyed the fire pit and front porch ?
We loved staying here for a weekend getaway. It was a great to stay in a beautiful natural rural location that was also close enough to lots of attractions. The house is charming, comfortable and clean. We enjoyed playing games in the living room and sitting by the fire pit. Also the beds were SO comfortable!
A gem in the woods. The property is beautiful and the house is clean and comfortable. We made good use of the firepit for post Penn State relaxing. The kitchen is huge and we were able to have all of our college kids over for a home cooked meal. Thank you for a great weekend!
Property was very nice and an easy drive to State College. Thanks!
Great place to stay. It worked perfectly for our PSU football weekend. House has lots of space.
We were in town, from Texas, to tailgate and attend the Penn State game so didn’t get to enjoy the property the way we would have liked. It was definitely rustic, quiet and would have been a great place to just enjoy the outdoors had we allowed more time for our trip. We arrived late and the owners left the outside porch light on for us - thanks!
Our group enjoyed the peaceful togetherness as we traveled for a wedding that was held at a venue 30 minutes away from this VRBO. We were able to enjoy a round of golf at nearby Penn State White course a day before the wedding. The front porch at Lost Dutchman Retreat was our favorite spot to share stories and laughs and watch the deer wander by.
There was no cable or WiFi… but I would have it no other way. Having my coffee in the morning on the porch swing in the morning , watching my kids play outside instead of on their devices, watching the lightning bugs glitter the grounds, the deer coming by to eat fallen apples… I could go on and on. It was a much needed and beautiful time spent. Both Dana and Will were super helpful and kind. The old house was filled with wonderful nuances and charm. Even though we were there during a heat wave, it still remained comfortable.
We had a great time at this property. The location is peaceful and there is a lot to do in the area. Even just enjoying the porch for a day!
Cozy comfortable resort. Beds very comfortable
This cabin is just the coolest. The cabin is unique and rich in history. Spacious for a few families, space is ample, beds are super comfy and the kitchen was well stocked. The porch is large and nice for sitting and enjoying the peace. The cider press next door is an interesting operation. We are hoping to see it in operation someday. If your looking for a place to escape the busyness of life this cabin allows you to slow down and enjoy.
The hosts provided a wonderful experience for our stay. The weather was rotten and forced us to spend the weekend indoors. The cabin was very clean and thoughtfully stocked, providing everything we needed to spend quality family time indoors. The spacious layout gave us plenty of room to gather together with our group, eat, and play games. The location is remote and very private, yet a convenient distance to our activities planned at the university. The hosts were easy to work with and very quick to respond to all communications. We all agreed we would love to return for another stay and explore the outdoors.
