Stayed Dec 19, 2025We had a great stay at the Mackay Guesthouse at Iron Ore Reserve. Even though it was snowing and very windy during our visit, the house was warm, cozy, and comfortable, making it a perfect place to hunker down. The home was clean, well stocked, and had plenty of space for our group. The setting is peaceful and beautiful, and communication with the hosts was excellent. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it.

Stayed Aug 21, 2025We were very happy with this property. Maybe a bit close to the main road,but it didn’t affect anything we were doing. It has everything you need to make your stay more pleasant.The town’s people were very friendly and I love talking to people about their lives. We stumbled upon an old cemetery to explore, the Mountain View’s were breathtaking, and the historical museum was very interesting. The best was the exploring of the old mine tour. Totally worthwhile to see and experience. Your property was a perfect place to visit all of these wonderful places. Thank you for making it available to travelers like my family.

There is on-going construction on the grounds to be aware of. Owner is prompt in responding. There was an odor that we'd get a whiff of now and again.
