WELCOME to the Big Ponderosa Lodge where sweeping views from the north of Buffalo Peaks to the east and southeast of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and the Arkansas River Valley await you. Ski at nearby Vail, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Monarch, and others. Raft the white water of the Arkansas River, hike the 14ers, fish picturesque Rocky Mountain trout streams, or just relax in the Adirondack chairs around the fire pit on the deck.

After an exciting day of adventures, cook up dinner in our chef's delight kitchen equipped with a 48” built-in refrigerator, 48” 6-burner gas range top, double ovens, microwave, ice maker, 2 sinks, coffee pot, toaster, blender, a host of non-stick and stainless steel cookware, and a fully stocked spice cabinet. Designed for the family who loves to cook, there's plenty of room for multiple cooks in the kitchen.

• Large dining room with 7’8” table that expands to 11’ and seats 10 spaciously. High chair and 3 big kid booster seats included.
• Kitchen bar counter seats 6 on barstools
• Game table in entry seats 4
• 24’ x 30’ Great room with wood burning fireplace.

• Large Master retreat, 'The Hideout', on the main level includes a private sitting area with two La-Z-Boy swivel/rocker/recliners. Enjoy the best view in the house as you sit and gaze at the twinkling, lighted view of the valley floor at night. The Master Bath includes a jetted tub for two, separate his/her vanities, a private toilet area and large steam shower.

• Three other spacious bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms – 'Old Glory' on the main floor; 'The Corral' and 'The Mine' on the lower level. Each bedroom has one Cal King Serta iComfort bed, luxurious Spalena sheets and large closets. A full-sized crib is located in 'The Mine' for that little one who needs to stay close to mom and dad :-)

• 24’ x 38’ bunkhouse room (over the garage) includes 1 queen bed and 6 twin beds. The room also has its own sofa, chairs and TV area; games and private bathroom.

• Large upper deck on back of house has a large patio table with 6 chairs and a Weber Genesis gas grill. Firepit (summer months only) is encircled with 6 adirondack chairs.

A whole-house intercom system is installed which allows for easy communication throughout, as well as, one-room monitoring. Our family usually monitors The Bunkhouse so parents can keep abreast of the minute-to-minute activity from any room in the house :-)

After dinner, unwind by watching your favorite movies and/or games on the 10-foot HD screen while shooting a game of pool downstairs in the 24' x 46' media room, located on the lower level, which includes a bar with 4 barstools; refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot and popcorn popper. The room hosts an 8’ Olhausen log pool/billards table; two tiered movie theatre with (10) motorized Thomasville recliners; and a JUMBO 10’ movie screen. Room also has a small gas furnace if needed.

Nestled in the heart of the Arkansas river valley, Buena Vista is a quaint mountain town with all the amenities you need for a perfect vacation. Just 2 to 2.5 hours from Colorado Springs or Denver, getting to “BV” will be an enjoyable, beautiful drive through the pine and aspen covered Colorado Rocky Mountains. See deer, elk, antelope and other wildlife.
Other activities in and around Buena Vista include: hiking, biking, horseback riding, snowmobiling, river rafting, kayaking, shooting sports, mountain climbing, boating, jeep and ATV rental, hot springs, visiting ghost towns, exploring, rock climbing, antiquing, etc.
