Luxury 2 BDR home w/ outdoor decks and dock on Bayou Castine.

Wonderful place! Looking forward to staying again

It was a perfect stay in Old Mandeville. We were visiting for wedding at The Greystone 1 mile away and this house checked all the boxes for our family of 4 from different states to connect. The home decor was coastal chic with elevated details and exceeded our expectations. The house has everything you need, plus more. We wished we could have enjoyed the multiple outdoor seating areas but the weather did not cooperate. We hope to return on a future visit. Thank you for sharing your bayou paradise with us.

The owners keep this property in terrific condition with great attention to every detail. I've been there about three times and never had a bad experience. The location is beautiful and it's just a terrific place for a couple or a few friends to really relax.During my last visit a severe storm knocked out the electricity in the area. When the whole-house generator failed to start up, David (owner) came right over and corrected the issue. He came despite the pouring rain, just to ensure we were comfortable. In addition to the property and the owner's concern, consider what an amenity an alternate electric supply is. Probably not the first thing you think of when booking, but those of us from this part of the world have learned to appreciate it.

This is our go to vacation spot. We've stayed at this home at least 5 times. It is absolutely spectacular. So many amenities to enjoy, or just sit on the dock and just be. This house is literally what dreams are made of.

An outstanding property, in an outstanding location overlooking the bayou. Immaculately maintained throughout. This property is located just a few yards from the extensive 'trace', where you can bike (2 bikes provided) or walk for over 20 miles; is located on the bayou (canoe provided); and is only minutes from beautiful downtown Mandeville (with it's shops; restaurants; lake front etc). The property is quiet with extensive grounds. It has a large lounge, kitchen & dining area; generously sized bedrooms; and great deck areas (both upstairs & downstairs). It is superbly decorated throughout.This was our fourth stay at this property, and we are already planning our next visit. The hosts, David & Marie, are so helpful and live nearby.We stayed 18 nights at Bayou Castine and, with so much to do locally, we rarely felt the need to travel more than a few miles.

Everything about Cypress was incredible. if I had to use a single place to sell the beauty of Louisiana, it would be this one. We will 100% stay here again in the future. We even got to meet one of the hosts (David) who was a very kind gentleman and made us feel very welcome. Thank you so much David & Marie for sharing your haven with us.

We really loved our stay in Mandeville. This property is like a private tree house. So serene and beautiful with views from every corner! The interior is stunning and the house had everything that we needed. It is a unique and magical place.

The Bayou Castine exceeded most expectations. Great location, quiet neighborhood, beautiful surroundings, and a perfect home layout with 2 master suites, open kitchen and living space, office, and patio areas.

Beautiful getaway!

What a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. If you want a weekend getaway... here is a MUST. Surrounding by nature and felt like we were taken to another place. Gated and the foliage makes it feel very secluded but was close to everything. Check in and out was a breeze. House instructions were easy to follow and understand. We will be coming back I am sure!

Absolutely amazing. Enjoyed the serenity of the the propeerty, and close proximity to all shops and restaurants. Owners are truly welcoming and wonderful people who really want their guests to enjoy all there is to offer. This is our 3rd stay and we will return.

Cypress was a perfect getaway for my daughter and myself! It’s a five-star home nestled along the bayou. Our hosts were quick to respond, and they have paid close attention to every detail to make our stay memorable. We were sad to leave so soon.

The property was beautiful and very relaxing.

The property delivered everything promised and then some. The place was immaculate. The art was colorful and appropriate for the bayou aesthetic. There was so much room to relax or play. Plenty of activities in the rec room - bicycles, darts, canoes, cornhole even ping pong! We threw a line or two , but no bites. The birds were amazing, waking us peacefully in the mornings. Words cannot adequately describe this rental. It simply needs to be experienced!

We used this beautiful property for all of the girls to get ready prior to my wedding. Everything went smoothly and the property was amazing with ample amount of space. I confirmed my “extra event” I was having with the owner prior to the stay and have proof of our conversation, i received multiple instances of my wedding party encountering the owner of the property asking questions about what was happening. I’m not sure how much interaction is allowed, but 3 instances seemed excessive to me. Other than that, my stay was amazing and i had a lot of compliments on the property.

Beautiful home close to Lakefront, bayou, and bike trail. Perfectly decorated home with everything we needed for a relaxing, luxury weekend retreat. We will be back!

This property is modern, well equipped & decorated to the highest standard.It is located on the Bayou within easy reach of Old Mandeville. It has direct access to the Bayou itself (with it's own dock, canoe & kayak), and is only yards from the 'Trace' with over 30 miles of paved cycle / walking paths (the property has 2 bikes).The property is in a most tranquil setting, made for relaxing ..... whether that be watching the wildlife (alligators & birds are abundant): walking into the old town (lovely shops & restaurants, and the lakefront): having a day on the bayou: biking the trace: or simply sitting in the sun on one of the properties 2 balconies overlooking the bayou..The owners of the property live nearby and are friendly & helpful, yet unobtrusive.We spent 17 nights at the property (our 3rd visit), and on this occasion the car never left the drive - except for a number of evening trips to the nearby towns of Covington & Slidell to sample some fabulous Blues music.I have no hesitation in recommending this property, and indeed look forward to returning again next year.

Wonderful place to stay. Owners have thought of everything and they are immediate in response to questions. You never have to leave to have a good time. This is my 2nd stay and I plan to stay again. For a great LA experience you can’t get better than this! We love it!

This is a beautiful house on a beautiful little bayou. It's not a place for big parties or going out to nightclubs. It's a place for sitting on the dock or taking a kayak out into the lovely serene bayou to see birds and deer. It's for late dinner with good friends and conversation sitting down at the dock. I hope to be back.

We had a wonderful time at Cypress on bayou Castine. The house is beautifully furnished and equipped with everything you could need with excellent instructions for use. It was exceptionally clean and very well maintained. The views of the bayou and surrounding area made the trip very relaxing. We would recommend this property to anyone.

I seldom leave reviews, and I have never given a 5/5 review. But that was before we stayed at Cypress. The driveway and grounds are behind a private gate. The ground floor is mostly open air just in case of very high water. A small elevator can take luggage and passengers up to the second floor. (This was very helpful for us since my wife has health problems.) The interior is absolutely beautiful! The decor is modern, and the house is tastefully appointed. The kitchen is provisioned with everything required for anyone who likes to cook. The outdoor facilities are incredible! One of the two wooden boardwalks takes you across a part of the bayou to a quiet little peninsula where you can just sit and watch the bayou flow past. The other wooden boardwalk leads to a dock/sitting area on the edge of the bayou. Sitting on the dock in the early morning with a cup of coffee watching the mist rise from the water was very calm and restorative. We took the canoe upstream as far as the road, watching the birds and dragonflies as the fish rose to the surface, just loving being out in nature. But we were only minutes away from cafes, restaurants and stores. My wife and I initially selected Cypress because it had two full bedrooms and allowed us to include a friend in our visit. When we visit the area again, we will always check to see if Cypress is available, even if only the wife and I will be staying there. As the title says, our stay at Cypress was the best ever!

Cypress was beyond our expectations. We absolutely loved everything about the property. We utilized the canoe on two different morning and paddled down the bayou. We rode bikes to down the Tammany Trace to Fontainebleau State Park and enjoyed the beach for an afternoon. We watched tv below deck and just relaxed as a family. And coffee on the balcony was a favorite each morning. Cypress was perfect in every way and we will return. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.
