Lovely oceanfront house with stunning sea views

This was our second year here. It’s magical. The view of the ocean. The pristine air. The quiet. As avid readers and writers, the choice of reading material tucked into every corner was heaven. The window seats are perfect and the beds very comfortable. One teeny improvement would be a real banister up to the loft. The rope just doesn’t feel enough for the steep stairs. Other than that. Perfect.

The unusual octagon house is very conveniently laid out and comfortable to use and clean and well stocked with everything we needed. We enjoyed the house very much and especially the wonderful view of the Atlantic from the living room windows and the deck and the hiking trails through the woods.

Loved our visit to the Carousel! The area is lovely and ripe for exploring! House was well stocked and easy to keep tidy- simple, functional and second to the nature that surrounds it - as it should be! Loved watching the hummingbirds at the feeder and the fisherman doing their thing every morning. Sunrise from the couch is just as good!

Incredible view and just an amazingly serene location. The house is unique, stylish and funky and had everything we could possibly want or need. It was a stunner of a week. We are hoping to return next summer!!

The carousel is a rustic cabin that feels like summer camp with a few updated modern amenities including speedy fast WiFi! It’s a perfect retreat with a spectacular view, pounding waves, and refreshing sea air. The listing was 100% accurate, communication with the host was easy, and directions for things to do around the house were easy to follow. We never found the dock, sadly for us, but everything else was easy to find, including the clay tennis courts! We loved the view and spent days just staring at the sea and listening to the waves break on the rocks. Feels like a privilege to have stayed there.

The property is everything described and more. There aren't enough words to describe the view and the peace that comes with it. We are frequent visitors to Maine and have rented properties before. This is by far the best.

Tucked away, very quiet area. Easy to get to restaurants, store, etc. Great lobster source! Would reccomend ! Kitchen is stocked better than my home........

I feel very lucky to have stumbled upon this rental. It gave our family everything we were looking for for our vacation. It's peaceful, it's well kept and loved and this family obviously cares about the legacy they have inherited. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. The living room was very comfortable. The house is stocked with lots of things so if you rent this house ask before you bring something. I say this because more than likely it's at the house. All the beds were comfortable and falling asleep to the sound of the waves was the best. I especially loved the linens and the down puff I had on my bed. Bathrooms were new. My son loved the clawfoot soaker tub. The outdoor fire was perfect for the chilly nights. Now for my favorite part of the house...the deck that overlooks the water. We were lucky enough to have 5 days of sunshine so every morning I was able to enjoy my coffee out there watching the waves and lobster boats. We spent most of our time on the deck. We hope to make a trip to The Carousel an annual vacation.

The house is unusual, but comfortable and well stocked with whatever you might need. Many windows facing the ocean and the sound of the waves is a constant....a wonderful way to fall asleep. I loved the peace and quiet and it was a very restful vacation.

We needed a quiet getaway so we returned after a couple of years off and enjoyed it very much. The place is in excellent condition.
