Completely indipendent, “Il Granaio” is a lovely converted barn next door to the owners' house with its own small garden areas on different levels.
The location is very pretty and there are panoramic views across the valley to the surrounding Tuscan hills. Castelfiorentino is your nearest town.
This is an ideal base for those who wish to tour and visit all the main sights of Tuscany. Florence is easy to reach by either car or train as is Siena, whilst closer to hand you haveSan Gimignano and Volterra.
Outside: Garden table and chairs for eating out of doors whilst you enjoy the lovely views across the Tuscan countryside.
Private swimming pool in the garden behind the house. (6.10m x 3.70m and 1.35m deep).

The area has many local vineyards offering wine and olive oil which you can sample and purchase 'direct' at very good prices and there are ample opportunities for eating out in the area. Horse riding near Montaione, golf at Castelfalfi.

The barn has a light and airy feel with three entrances on the ground floor. One leads into the sitting/dining room with Tuscan fireplace, TV (sofa bed for the +2). An archway from the sitting room leads to the open plan kitchen with gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher and washing machine. Doors to the garden from the kitchen.

A wooden staircase leads to two double bedrooms and a good bathroom with bath, basin and wc.

The property has central heating. Cot available on request. FREE Wi-Fi internet access is available.

The owners live next door and will be happy to sell you olive oil and wine.

Completely independent for exclusive use, Il Granaio is a lovely, large and bright barn. Immersed in the splendid hills of the Tuscan countryside where natural woods, vineyards, olive groves and rows of cypresses alternate.
It is located in Castelfiorentino, in the Elsa Valley, on the Via Francigena, the famous main road traveled in the Middle Ages by pilgrims traveling to Rome from Canterbury.
Castelfiorentino is a small and lively town, with low tourist attendance but with supermarkets, shops, a large weekly open-air market and a train station. This guarantees total safety and peace of mind.
The town center is easily reachable on foot (about 3 km) and is an excellent starting point for visiting the most important cities of art (Florence, Siena, Vinci, Pisa, San Gimignano, Lucca etc..) by train or by car in about an hour.
Also nearby are the splendid golf courses of Castelfalfi. Famous spa centers and the Tuscan coast are just a couple of hours away by car.

THE HOUSE
In the garden, furnished with a table for outdoor dining and a barbecue area, there are the two main entrances which lead to the living/dining room and the kitchen, communicating through a large opening almost forming a single large room.
In the living room there is a large typically Tuscan fireplace, TV and sofa (sofa bed for 2 people).
The kitchen is well-stocked and equipped with a gas hob, electric oven, microwave oven, fridge with small freezer and washing machine. Here is also the third door that overlooks the other side of the house, in front of the owners' house.
The floor is in old Tuscan terracotta.
From here you go up to the upper floor, characterized by large windows corresponding to the grilled openings typical of granaries or barns.
There are two double bedrooms (bed sizes) with wardrobes and bedside tables and the bathroom, with sink, bath and shower facilities, the floor on the upper floor is made of larch wood.
THE POOL AREA
From the main garden you go down a few steps and you come across a second smaller garden, surrounded by greenery, from which by going down a few more stone steps, among oleanders and olive trees, you reach the swimming pool from which you can enjoy a beautiful panorama of the surrounding hills .
The pool area is equipped with umbrellas, relaxation armchairs, shower and a large table for outdoor dining.

The heating is centralized. The cost according to consumption as well as the wood for the fireplace.
The house is equipped with dishes, linens and free Wi-Fi.
The kitchen is equipped with all appliances, gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge with small freezer and washing machine.

Marilia deserves to be the VRBO host of the year! She was so helpful and accommodating. The house is comfy and spacious. We had a little issue with understanding the heating system but she solved it immediately. We were out of season for the pool. Oh well. We used this as our hub for side trips to various Tuscany towns and it was perfect. Marilia brought us a couple of surprises during our stay which was sweet. One major bonus that you will appreciate if you spend anytime in Italy. You get a dedicated parking spot! Highly recommend!

Great old barn, do not expect brand new objects, but a lively location and Marilia is such a nice person. We enjoyed it very much and will be back for sure. Travel by car or train to San Gimignano, Florence, Pisa or Livorno etc. Really a pleasant stay.

We’ve rented several s/c places and this one is just perfect! Quiet, very clean, welcoming, homely, stunning views, everything you need! A perfect week under the Tuscan Sun! The owner Marilia is warm, friendly welcoming and very hard working. Every morning the pool had been cleaned and spotless. Always a cheery face and so interested that you were having a great holiday! The house is chic, rustic, spotless and goergeous! We would have bought it there and then! Marilia you are a 5****** host xx
