Lodge Alley - Downtown Historic District - Incredible Location

Fantastic location! Well appointed property, and wonderfully curated decor. Sharon and Tom were excellent hosts. Communication was quick with lots of suggestions for restaurants etc. 10 out of 10 recommend!

We stayed here with great friends while in town for a wedding and absolutely loved it. The location couldn’t be better — close to everything yet peaceful and charming. The home itself was beautiful, spotless, and perfectly appointed for a comfortable stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Charleston and would highly recommend this VRBO to anyone visiting. It’s the perfect place to experience all the charm this amazing city has to offer!

Excellent location to some of the wonderful restaurants in Charleston as well as the city market and just a short walk to King Street.

Charleston is awesome. The best experience we've had with any of our VRBO adventures. Lodge Alley is absolutely lovely. The hosts provide all the amenities that you could need and more. The location is outstanding with easy walking to dining and shopping. We will absolutely be visiting Charleston again and this is the place we will stay.

This house represented the feeling of Old Charleston perfectly! Beautiful decor and tranquil feeling inside and out. Great location to restaurants, bars and of course King Street shopping. Friends who didn’t stay with us have already decided to book for an upcoming trip just from word of mouth and pictures. You will not be disappointed.

This is our second time staying at this beautiful home that is in a PERFECT location. The home itself is so comfortable, well supplied and very cared for. I can’t say enough about it. We love it and oh did I mention the location?! It is so centrally located that once we parked our car we didn’t get in again till we left as everything is so walkable. Thank you again so much! Everything was perfect! The location, the ease of entry, the furnishings, and most of all the cleanliness!

We were so pleased with our stay. Not only was the location perfect for exploring every. Corner of the city …but the house itself was perfect too. I’ve never slept so well in a house that wasn’t my own. The bed and pillows were the absolute best!!! We made use of the private balcony and the courtyard too. I would definitely return and choose to stay there again.

The location was close to everything… we parked the car and walked everywhere! The house was the cleanest rental I’ve ever stayed in, I wish I had a cleaning crew as good as the one managing this property. I would stay here again!

Beautiful house in great area

Our twelfth visit to Charleston and our second time staying at 46F. We adore this home and the location. The hosts are magnificent. The home is lovely and charming. Location is great if you’re visiting for the 1st or 12th time. We hope to own home like this in a few years. Great practice for living like a local!

This is a beautiful home & great location. Sharon was really helpful & the restaurant recommendations were wonderful. We were 2 little old ladies & we could not have been more comfortable. The art in the home is interesting & lovely. We had a wonderful visit to a beautiful city.

This was a very well kept property with attention to detail. Lots of little extras to make your stay welcoming and comfortable. Location was beyond great with a short walk to East Bay Street to many of the must do restaurants and a few short blocks to the Market. Everything about this rental was amazing.

The property was perfectly located in the French Quarter near the City Market, restaurants, and just a couple of blocks from the waterfront park. The place was clean, inviting, and comfortable. We would highly recommend the property to anyone looking for a well appointed property in Charleston!

The lodging and location were excellent. The owners were quick to resolve a glitch at the start of our stay.

This was our 7 trip to Charleston staying in Tom and Sharon’s place. It was super as usual. The house was well appointed and in a very nice area. While there don’t forget to go to High Cotton for Espresso Martinis and Henry’s for excellent she-crab bisque.

This home was exactly as listed and was absolutely delightful. It was well-equipped, tastefully decorated, and warm and inviting. The location in the French Quarter is unbeatable and we were able to walk almost everywhere. I would love to stay here again and highly recommend the place to others.

What an awesome home! Beautifully and generously furnished, so clean, and in a perfect location! Loved the private patio area with table. Could walk everywhere in Charleston from it too. Was so nice to come back from the hustle bustle to the beautiful and quiet courtyard area.

I usually don't bother with negative reviews but conversations with Sharon Johnson, our host, was completely uncalled for and unprofessional. We booked a long weekend (over $1,500 plus airfare) with our 2 daughters who were traveling from different parts of the country. Unfortunately, 2 days before our trip, my mother-in-law broke her hip. Her doctor strongly advised against travel as her health was declining quickly. We immediately called Mrs. Johnson to let her know about the situation. She asked if we'd taken out traveler’s insurance but unfortunately had not. Mrs. Johnson advised us to contact VRBO stating she had ‘no authority to refund’. When we contacted VRBO, they informed us that refunds were at the discretion of the host. The customer service rep called Mrs. Johnson who responded, ‘no refund.’ We take full ownership of not having purchased the insurance but were hopeful that Mrs. Johnson would work with us somehow given the situation. We asked Mrs. Johnson if she'd allow us to pass our weekend to family/friends. She agreed but due to short notice, we didn't find anyone. We approached Mrs. Johnson one last time in hopes that she'd maybe give us a small refund/discount on a future trip. We were willing to provide medical/flight change information. Mrs. Johnson texted a response saying “sorry... one of us has to lose and it’s not going to be me. We own/rent a high-end condo in Naples, FL and would NEVER treat customers this way.

We love Charleston and no better way to visit than to stay in walking distance to everything. The house was spotless and very well appointed. Highly recommended!

Lodge Alley was in a great location and suited us perfect! Walked to the waterfront and downtown attractions. Public parking garage was nearby. Quick response from the owners.
