Come relax at our charming, newly renovated home built in the 1930's. This peaceful, well-designed retreat under live oaks has all the charm of the old but with all the upgraded, desirable features: large kitchen, open floor plan, brand new hardwood floors through out, and large master suite. A spacious deck featuring a large live oak providing a canopy over the serene half acre lot. Walking distance to many restaurants/bars, movie theatre, and minutes from downtown Charleston and Folly Beach.
The space
A large open kitchen provides the space for many to enjoy the fun of cooking together. For those that prefer to watch the cooks, there's a large bar that looks over the kitchen. The home has an open floor plan so just behind the bar is the dining room offering a variety of spots for all to eat together. Off the dining room is large living room offering two couches and a recliner. There is also a spot next to the large bay window that makes the perfect reading nook! We have three queen sized bedrooms with dressers and ample closet space. The master suite features a tray ceiling and a large TV on the wall. The master bath offers a walk in closet, a large vanity with two sinks and an alcove. There is a half bath just off the hallway next to the laundry room.
Guest access
The property sits on a large half acre lot. In the back of the property is our sister Airbnb: Coastal Cottage. It features a quaint one bedroom bungalow. Guests of Coastal Cottage are at the back of the property and park directly in front of the home. Guests at Live Oak Retreat have ample parking space along the left side of the driveaway and along the side of the deck and carport. The right side of the driveway needs to remain open so Coastal Cottage guests can access their home. We have never had any issues with parking but want to make sure all guests are aware of how to share the parking space.

    Lovely the property. We loved the location and the convenience to both Charleston and to Folly Island beaches at about 15min to either place.The house was very spacious. A nice deck on the back of the house would definitely be enjoyable at the right time of year. Would absolutely stay here again.

    The house was clean, well supplied and in a quiet working neighborhood. The Whole Foods Market was nearby. There are restaurants within walking distance, if you wanted to walk. The main roads have sidewalks,and the side road the house is on doesn't have sidewalks, but it is a straight road so you can see traffic coming if you are walking on the side of the road facing on coming traffic. The yard was well maintained and street number was visible on the house.

    It’s not too often I leave a review, but this place was great. The house was very clean, kitchen had all the pots/pans etc you need to cook. The neighborhood was not questionable at all, felt very safe having our three daughters with us. Additionally the house is was located perfectly to get anywhere within 15/20 minutes. Would definitely recommend this property.

    House worked great for our family of six. Kitchen was well stocked. Beds were comfy and plenty of towels. Backyard was nice and big for the kids to play in and the location was great. Easy to get to downtown Charleston as well as Folly Beach.

    Wonderful quaint little place to stay. Vry clean and beds r super. It’s a bit of a ways from Charleston Downtown but it done us well. Wld highly recommend this house to others interested n staying n area.

    From Indiana. Easy drive. Property was adorable and comfortable. Family of 5. Plenty of sleeping areas and 2.5 baths. Owners were in communication and available if needed while staying. Nothing arose as house was spectacular. Everything in great working order. Kitchen had everybody needed to Create home cook meals. The location was perfect for our time. Quiet pass through street on James Island. All was family friendly. Property is between Folly Beach 15 min that had a great time. We did not intend for a true beach vacation but it was nice to put our toes in the ocean and lay on the sand. The best fun was in Charleston with many sight seeing. My favorite was the Yorktown. Restaurants and parks were plenty. Thank you Crosby for letting us have a great place to stay. and burgers. save

    Great little place in James Island... around 4 miles between beach and necessities like grocery, restaurants, etc. SO clean and all the amenities you need for a weekend or longer.

    This well decorated and comfortable home was just perfect for old friends to reconnect. Since we all had lived in Charleston we were not into sight seeing but this location is an excellent choice for anyone who is. The bedrooms are very comfortable, great bedding, well appointed kitchen, quiet neighborhood, and cozy living room. It was a bit to warm to use the patio, but there is a great grill and table in the beautiful back yard. Thanks to our host, Kenneth, for making this a perfect choice.

    This house was a fantastic find for our girls trip. Plenty of room for our own space but nice gathering areas as well. It was centrally located to all our destinations. Communication with the hosts was timely and helpful. Beds were comfortable and we had enough linens for our stay. We appreciated the washer and dryer to be able to do laundry during our stay. Only recommendation would be a journal for guests to leave notes on places to visit, eat, avoid, etc. hosts did provide several travel guides and pamphlets for things to do. If we ever return to the area I would look at this property to stay again.
