Le Val Baron

This was the second time we’d stayed in this very expensive property! We love the area and the swimming pool / trampoline. Unfortunately the concierge they use are awful. First off- don’t even attempt to stay here if you don’t speak French- the directions to property aren’t clear and they don’t speak good enough English to help you. This time round - I asked if I could borrow a cot and high chair. They said ok but I had to pay €60 which they had to receive before I stayed otherwise I wasn’t allowed to stay… On arrival - the concierge couldn’t get the cot to work and there weren’t any straps on the high chair so I couldn’t use it. To add to that- there was already a cot and a high chair at the property so they needn’t have charged me at all. When I dared to ask for a reimbursement of my €60 (tip of the iceberg to be honest but it’s the principle!!) they told me in no uncertain terms that they would not be doing that and that they would in fact be taking money off my deposit because they needed a second concierge to clean the property after we (a family of 5) left. I inspected the property with the concierge on departure and he had absolutely no complaints about the state of the property (fortunately I speak French). MyPacome know nothing about customer service - we will never be returning to any of their managed properties. Also during our stay, the automatic robot lawnmower almost crushed our 7 month old child. Shame as we love the outside of the property/ area.

This property and it's location is incredible. The pictures do not do it justice. Whilst there, we had very hot weather and spent most of our time in the gorgeous pool. Our kids (3yr old twins) loved the trampoline as well. The house remained cool throughout the day and night despite the high temperatures outside. Villers-sur-mer plage and town was a 20 minute walk away (longer up hill on the way back with prams!). As an aside, it was very helpful that I spoke French, otherwise not sure we would have found the property! Only constructive feedback I'd give is that it would be helpful to have an information pack or something with restaurant / activity recommendations that you could flick through on arrival. Also, maybe give slightly longer for the handover as when we arrived, some of the rubbish bins were still full of the last guests' belongings and there was still laundry in the washing machine.
