Lazy River Cottage just steps from Desoto Falls on Little River in Mentone, AL

This property was a perfect 10! This property seems new. It is very clean. It has a nice living area, well furnished bedrooms, and up to date bathrooms. The kitchen was well stocked w/ pots, pans, appliances. I had everything I needed to cook a full Easter dinner. The BEST part about this cabin is the location!! You don’t have to go anywhere to enjoy the outdoors. The hiking trails for Desoto falls are within walking distance. The cabin sits right on the river and provides 4 kyaks. We kayaked for hours on the river. The host is very communicative and helpful. We do VRBO a good bit and this by far has been my favorite property. We will definitely come here again.

This property is so clean and well appointed. It was perfect for a girlfriends getaway weekend. It is a great location. We hiked, laughed, and snacked all weekend. Would definitely stay here again.

So relaxing and nice being right on the water. Close to hiking and activities.

Great location - along the river and walkable to some great hikes. House is spacious and fit 8 (plus a toddler) comfortably.

This home is perfect for large families! It had everything we needed! Our family weekend getaway was ANAZING!

Our hosts were very welcoming. The cabin was beautiful and just steps from the Desoto Falls. The view of the river was breathtaking. We enjoyed making smores at the fire pit. I highly recommend a stay at The Lazy River Cottage!

This is the 3rd time we have rented this property. Everything is immaculate and the location is perfect. The outdoor area is great for both kids and adults.Will stay again.

House was amazing, location is incredible. The back yard, porch….. we could have asked for a more perfect home to stay in.

This was a great house to rent while visiting Mentone. The location was perfect for hiking/family time/football watching and indoor/outdoor fireplaces were great. Very comfortable and tasteful interior furnishings and everything was spotless. I imagine the house being on the river would be lots of fun for the warmer months as well. Our family had a wonderful visit.

Perfect weekend for our annual girls trip!!!

Wonderful property! Our family group enjoyed all aspects of the home: fishing and swimming from the pier, kayaking, fire pit, roaming deer, walking to falls, rocking chair back porch.

We had such a wonderful family time. The cabin is excellent; spacious and well laid out. Coffee on the back porch with its view of Little River is peaceful and relaxing.We paddled upstream, and downstream to Desoto Falls. The water was cold and clean. Some fished, some swam, some of us just sat and enjoyed the outdoors.

We loved the cabin and outside living space! Everything was clean and comfortable! Stefanie is a wonderful host! We will make a plan for a longer stay.

Wish we could have stayed longer. Next time we will make sure we book a longer trip.

My husband and I rented the Lazy River Cottage to host Thanksgiving with our two kids, their spouses and our first grandson. We were there the whole week of Thanksgiving and the cottage was perfect. It’s basically a new house with three bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms, a loft with two single beds and a large living room. The kitchen was tight for preparing a large Thanksgiving meal, but we made it work. Even cooked a turkey sausage gumbo on Saturday while watching football! The beds weee very comfortable. The cottage is walking distance to the DeSoto Falls which were beautiful. Mentone is just a few minutes away by car and the DeSoto State park is about 10-15 minutes away. It was a great week!

The property is EXACTLY as pictured and described! A perfect get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday and opportunity to experience peace and tranquility without sacrificing modern conveniences… we really enjoyed some family time! Kayak and fire pit were amazing!
