'Lazy Bear Den' ~ 9 Mi to Vallecito Reservoir

Lovely property. Peaceful location. Bit of a drive to Durango, but was a pretty drive. Great cabin.

This house exceeded all our expectations. It was clean and well provisioned. With 3 adult couples (our kids and their spouses), it met our needs perfectly. Our contact person was friendly and quick to respond. I would certainly stay here again.

It was relaxing and needed. The place could have been cleaner but it wasn’t horrible. Weenjoyed the stay.

The house is amazing. Our stay was very enjoyable. Ashli was quick to respond when I had concerns or questions.However, as much as we enjoyed our stay, there are a couple of things that need to be mentioned. The furniture in the living room needs to be updated. The sofa and the big round chair is worn out and very uncomfortable. The portable A/C units need to be replaced with something that cools. The den/playroom/bedroom need something other than an oscillating fan. It was pretty stuffy most of the time in the den. We did open windows and the sliding glass door in the dining room which helped after the sun went down. Dealing with the elderly that are hard of hearing, it was very difficult for us to have a conversation because of the noise the portable A/C and oscillating made. I do not want the negative to shadow the positive of our stay. We really enjoyed our stay and will probably return. Martha Smith

Overall our experience was good, we ran into some issues when we first arrived but the owners were quick to respond and remedy the issue, which was very appreciated. The house was as described and we enjoyed using the pool table in the basement as a family. The only thing we would change is the dampness in the basement.

Four days of relaxing and exploring local attractions like hiking, Mesa Verde and the local eateries. Great trip.

We wanted something close to the Durango railroad to ride the Polar Express. This place was just perfect. We woke up to 50 or more wild turkeys. It was amazing. Also the deer walking thru the neighborhood. They were not afraid of us watching them. Kids just loved it! Everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Wildlife everywhere

Everything about the house worked out perfectly for our family quite neighborhood enjoyed the wildlife and wonderful family restaurants near by. Hostess was very friendly and helpful. Thank you

We arrived 2 hours later than our 4pm check-in time and walked in to a house that was not clean, dirty linens still on the beds, dirty towels on the floor, and dishes on the counters. We contacted the local host who had to scurry to find someone to clean. We had been on the road all day and had to leave the house for another 3 hours so they could get the laundry and cleaning done. There were holes in the walls, and the furniture in the living room was very old and uncomfortable, just needs to be replaced. The property is very dark and there is no outside lighting on the sidewalk. Must leave the porch light on all the time so there is light in the evening when you get back from hiking. Additionally, returned to the home after being out all day to a water disconnect notice hanging on the door.

We loved this property. It was perfect size for our family and provided great amenities. We hope to stay here again soon. Highly recommend this property.

This short stay was to allow me and my family to get my daughter settled in to third year in college at Ft. Lewis. It's always nice to stay in place where you can enjoy the nice scenery and outdoors. This was a lovely location and home. My adult children enjoyed the pool table and separated bedroom from the others. We all enjoyed our time at the home. It was a quiet neighborhood which we enjoyed. The weather was amazing also. We also enjoyed seeing all the animals. This was a beautiful home with everything we needed.

We had a nice stay. Easy to find. I think the instruction book got misplaced in the home. Im sure they will correct that for the next guest.

Absolutely loved this home! My adult kids and I were so comfortable in your lovely home. So enjoyed playing pool and sitting on the deck. We cooked several meals in and found the cooking supplies to be above and beyond what we typically see. I fell in love with Durango so hope to be back again soon and would definitely stay here again. The beds were so comfortable too.

We really enjoyed this property. In town for a wedding, we all loved being able to unwind downstairs with the pool table and other amenities. Highly recommend!

The house was very clean and spacious. My kids loved the pool and foosball table. It was only 30 min from Durango and there was so much to do! We would definitely stay here again.

Plenty of space for 7 adults. Nice get away with great amenities! We enjoyed the birds in the morning and the deer in the evening.

Where to start, while we were traveling to the property, I received a message saying the rental was ready for check in way before or slotted check in time. As this was a 12 hour drive, an unsolicited early check in was a huge WELCOME HOME! for our family as we were an hour or 2 ahead of schedule. Upon arrival the property was clean and well kept, instructions for gaining access were clear and straightforward. The property is excellent for those wishing to get out into nature while still being convenient to urban necessity. Beds were comfortable, linens clean and fresh, they even took the time to make a flower for the TP roll. The pool table, basketball goal, foosball, darts, and the classic arcade were hits with all of us and we're used to make memories that will last. I cannot recommend this property enough, and 10/10 would stay here again!

Clean and comfortable in a quiet setting. Plenty of room for our group of 4. Beds are comfy. All appliances were in working condition. Some dishes were not cleaned by previous guests, I assume. A few pans are ready for replacing. There's was coffee and pancake mix provided, nice touch! Overall a great stay!
