Stayed Apr 3, 2026Location! Location! Location! This property sits in the most beautiful spot on the canal. Across from the house is all natural and there is a cove where we saw mama manatees and their babies almost daily. A huge pod of dolphins came through tearing up the mullet! There were turtles, birds, lizards, an alligator (small) and I was just waiting on David Attenborough to hop in the kayak and start narrating our vacation! We had cold, rainy, and windy weather almost the whole week we were there. But it was fine! The covered porches allowed us to still enjoy the outdoors. The tv in the family room was great! Comfy seating for everyone! We were so close to everything that it wasn’t time consuming to travel. The Hosts did an excellent job recommending activities and restaurants (you’ll receive a great emailed packet when you reserve). We were never bored!I would forgo buying too many groceries - Grannies Country Cooking is right up the road and was ridiculously good! We also became fans of the Twistee Treat ice cream place - soooo yummy! The beds were clean and very comfy. The house is big! The three levels allowed for personal space but we still felt like we had family togetherness (parents, doggy, and two boys - 13 & 10). We really could not have asked for more! The only thing I disliked was having to leave. We made some fabulous memories and the boys are already asking when we can go back.

Stayed Mar 16, 2026Property was the perfect set up for our two families to enjoy some spring break fun with the kids. Plenty of beds, right on the water with easy access for the kayaks, and a nice sized screened porch for watching the wildlife in the mornings it the evening. The house is an older split level, reminded of my childhood, the kids had never been in a split level before and were quite amused by it. Lots of wood accents to give it a rustic cabin feel vs. a beachy feel. Kitchen had most of the utensils we needed for cooking, even an electric skillet and crock pot and toasters. The property host/manager was very responsive and helpful. Even stopped by to help us with something. Showers had great water pressure. Can't beat the location either.

Stayed Mar 7, 2026House was very clean and personally i like knotty pine! Everything worked like it should and the place was pet friendly for our little 4lb dog. The kayaks and screened in porch are where we spent alot of our time! You are right on a canal with plenty of wildlife and decent freshwater fishing. Saw a manatee and a couple of small alligators. Would come again, Thanks Pete!

Stayed Nov 25, 2025The house was roomy and the porch areas were great. We saw lots of birds, turtles, and alligators! The kayaks were very convenient and it was a short paddle to the larger bay. It was great that dogs are allowed and our pups loved the porch. Our family went for Thanksgiving and spent a lot of time at the house enjoying the large living area. The house was a bit dusty. Make sure to take your own toiletries, kitchen towels, cleaning spray, and toilet paper. The kitchen was well stocked with pans and dishes/flatware but the dishwasher doesn't work well, so we hand washed everything.

Stayed Jun 27, 2025We seen 4 manatees and some herrings had just hatched in a nest just outside the screen porch. Very relaxing stay. A 10 minute paddle will get you to the river.

Stayed Jul 6, 2025Area is quiet and tranquil. House is large enough for a big family or two small families. Added downstairs space could use more air conditioning to accommodate anyone sleeping. The home needs a major deep cleaning and some remodeling/tlc. Kitchen pots and pans should be updated. Bring your own paper products for more than a two day stay. The canal to get to the house can become very low during lower tides, so larger boats will not be able to get to the house. Internet and dish tv went out on our stay. Owner was very responsive on trying to fix it, but it never came through. Overall our trip was enjoyed for Scallop season 2025.

Stayed Mar 25, 2025Property was in a beautiful location, we saw so much wildlife and the kayaks were a hit. The house does need updates, but it has charm. I would recommend bringing your own pans lol. The house was as described, except there is no sauna that was stated. Pete was great and on top of it

Stayed Feb 27, 2025We had a girls get away weekend and stayed here. The place was very clean and the patio overlooking the canal was absolutely beautiful. Communication with the hosts was super easy. And the location for wanting to visit different springs was perfect. One of our favorite things to do was kayaking right off the deck into the canal and out into the bay where we saw manatees and great birds every time. It was a wonderful stay.

Stayed Feb 15, 2025We loved staying at this waterfront home in a quiet neighborhood in Crystal River. It was a perfect location and setup for our family, traveling with three kids and grandparents. The house is a bit rustic, which suited us well, and is equipped with comfortable beds, kayaks, and a lovely screened in deck for enjoying the natural setting.

Stayed Feb 3, 2025We wanted to see and swim with the manatees while seeing the central costal springs. This house was old school pine wood walls on a quiet street with a beautiful screen porch looking over a canal. We saw a manatee swimming up the canal our first night! We spent most of our time in the house sitting out on the porch because it was so beautiful to look out over the water with jumping fish and hear the multitude of birds calling. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with whatever we needed. The house was centrally located to the town of Crystal River and there were a multitude of restaurants to choose from. A minor complaint...not enough toilet paper for a one week stay. Otherwise a great stay and we would return again.

Stayed Jan 18, 2025This house was in a great spot and the kayaking was fantastic. House needs a deep cleaning; as sticky closet shelfs, dirty windows, debris on window sills(just pull up the blinds), debris in kitchen cabinets, etc. etc. The surface cleaning was fine. The dishes, pots and pans need inventory and replacement and additons. House sleeps 10 and only two coffee mugs - one chipped and broken handle(that was my mug for the week, gave my wife the one with a handle). There are like 20 tiny tea cups - folks want mugs for their coffee. Pots and pans all banged up, teflon coming off, crusty food on them. Then there are the TVs - the master bedroom TV would not even come on. The great room TV would not get Direct TV, thus I had to stream all week. Owner did send someone over who sat on the coffee table for a half an hour playing with the great room TV to no avail. After he left I just hooked up th HDMI cable to my laptop and streamed. He didn't even look at the master bedroom TV. He told me the owner was cheap regarding providing a decent TVs signals. The roof over the rear porches leaks in several spots, hard to find a dry spot during a rain out there. Lastly, put a ladder off your dock so folks can get in and out of kayaks at low tide as 4 foot drop off last step.Could be a 5 star rental if someone just put more focus on this home.
