Large traditional villa 30 meters from the sea. Stunning sea and sunset views.

The perfect holiday!! We loved our stay 10/10 they were so helpful and the villa was beautiful and so clean! One of my favourite places ever!!

The online listing did not fully describe the bedroom and bathroom situation. There is one nice bedroom with an adjoining bathroom. It has a queen bed. The other bedrooms are sub par. The bedroom with a king bed is essentially in the basement with only 1 small window. We had terrible water bugs in the king bedroom and bathroom our entire 10 day stay. Also, the water broiler went out on our second day. It was replaced the next day. The housekeeper was excellent. We would not stay at this house again. Also, 10 days is too long of a stay in Hydra. Recommend 4 to 5 days.

Such sweet sorrow upon leaving! This has been one of the most fantastic and beautiful and restful time in our entire lives. Villa Francesca is a wonderful home, and gave us more than we ever dreamed. We cooked and walked and cooked and laughed and cooked such magnificent meals with Gypsy jazz on the Marshall bluetooth. And Nopi is a dream herself. We are looking for a property manager for our beach house and we may have to make her an offer! The bonus was the holiday parade portside - with Nopi’s marching grandchildren! We are already plotting our return. Truly, the finest home with the most beautiful vistas of navy blue and turquoise waters imaginable. Did I mention the herbs surrounding us? The orange and lemon and grapefruit and pomegranate trees to plunder every morning? (One part ouzo to one part fresh pomegranate juice to three parts sparkling water, with a fresh slice of green lemon is the perfect apertivo.) The fish bought right off the boat and grilled within minutes. The excellent kitchen with all-clad cookware and sharp knives is the antidote to crappy rental property kitchens. You’re just a minute or two from good tavernas, but who cares with such gorgeous ingredients all around you and a dream kitchen. Peace and thank you. - Ed, Lyn, Claude and Mary

Loved staying at the villa! It was the perfect size for our group of 5. A 10-minute walk to town and an even shorter walk to the water. Also Nopi, the housekeeper, is amazing!

This was our first trip to Greece and first stop on our trip beyond the crowds and noise of Athens. This property exceeded our expectations! First off it’s huge. Great location—could walk anywhere-In 15 mins. Just steps to a beach below the villa. Views were amazing and was very well appointed and furnished. The best part was the caretaker Nopi, she met us at the ferry with donkey’s ready upon arrival and met us at 6:30am with donkeys to go back to the port when leaving. She made breakfast and also got us some groceries. I’ve stayed at many VRBO properties and this is one of the finest we’ve stayed in.

Villa Francesca is a very special property. Beautiful terraces filled with jasmine and wisteria overlook the harbour of Kamini and the master bedroom must have one of the most spectacular views on Hydra. We are regular visitors and this is the best house we’ve rented by far. Is this a ‘super villa’ in the seamless, streamlined design you can find anywhere from Ibiza to Sydney? No, it is far more charming and original. This feels like staying in a friend’s house, with all the benefits of a well stocked kitchen and yet with a calming decorative restraint that is airy and relaxing. The sea is a very short walk away and our sunset swims were truly magical. Nopi, the housekeeper is very discreet and totally trustworthy. When I left a valuable piece of jewellery behind without realising, she immediately made contact and dropped it at my hotel. A fabulous week and very spoiling.

The pictures of the house are very good but being there was everything. It’s beautiful, artistic, sensual and comfortable. Nopi, the keeper of the house, met all of our needs. Truly a remarkable experience for all of us.

We were met off the ferry by the housekeeper who arranged for our bags to be taken by donkey to the property and everything else for the stay was made very easy. The property is beautifully set about 15 to 20 minutes walk from Hydra town and is lovely to be in and to look at - decorated simply but with fantastic taste The host, Christos, couldn’t have been more helpful with his suggestions for our visit and we are grateful for a really memorable stay. We will definitely be back.
