Large home with Mountain Views & 20 min from town

We had a great stay! The home layout is wonderful for a group. The setting ins beautiful.Some of our favorite features- the huge dining table, outdoor fire pit, and well stocked kitchen.

The property just felt like home for a week. The dogs loved the trails outside. We had everything we needed to make a few dinners. The neighbors were very friendly when the power was out.

Wonderful sitting area and dining room table - very comfortable for our group of 8 adults. Bathrooms are all Jack and Jill style except the main level which might not work for everyone but we didn’t use all the bedrooms so it was fine. Some things provided and easy kitchen to use. Very homey feel. Darts and lots of board games and books for in-home entertainment. Beautiful but tricky drives between towns. Gorgeous hikes and area to explore.

Was fantastic, great Internet and a wonderful location if your looking for a quiet retreat. Lots to do and see, mountains in the morning are awesome

This is a great house, excellent for larger family gatherings; needs some maintenance.The bedrooms and adjoining bathrooms worked nicely for families. Bring eye masks, as many rooms don't have blackout curtains. The main floor mattress was very soft and proved uncomfortable for both people who slept there. The loft was perfect for kids to play (including the older kids, who loved the foosball table) right near the main spaces. The screen porch has a phenomenal view! We went down to the river, which was a bit tough for the littlest kids but turned out to be fun (be sure to turn right when you reach the river trail from the path by the house, and be careful returning since it's easy to miss the turn back). Nearby, Cashiers Sliding Rock and Secret Falls were great outings.There was an issue with the cleaning (floors and showers were visibly dirty, dining table had crumbs all over it, etc.), but the host refunded our cleaning fee after offering to have the cleaner come back during our stay if needed.We noticed substantial water damage to the wood floor in one of the bathrooms, which needs remediation. One of the AC units wasn't working, so the host told us about an extra one and offered to have someone come out and install it if needed. There was structural damage to one of the deck supports, which definitely needs repair.Overall, it was a great vacation because of the stellar location and views, nearby adventures, and character of the home. Just needs a little TLC.

Great place for family gathering! We had 15 people altogether ( 3 years to 75 years old) , plus 2 dogs, and did not feel crowded at all..Plenty of space, inside and outside. Beautiful area with lots of hiking trails and waterfalls nearby. Kids and adults both especially enjoyed the Sliding Rock nearby.. Owners provided a great list of places to visit and explore.Communication with host was great.Would definitely love to visit again .

This home was just wonderful! Lots of space for our large group to spread out. The dining room was huge, so we were all able to eat together. The mountains and trees were beautiful and relaxing. It was a great place for half of our family to stay for a family reunion. Lots of things to do in the area. The kitchen was well equipped for each of us to take a turn cooking a meal. Our furry family members also enjoyed it!

Absolutely enjoyed the location and the stay- house was clean and large enough for a large group to spend time together or on their own. Beautiful location and vista, and the house was clean and had all of the accommodations to make for a wonderful time!! Thank you so very much!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this secluded home tucked in the woods. There were 12 adults and 2 children from our family and we had plenty of room. The kitchen is well-equipped and the outdoor space is ideal for a getaway to the mountains. The drive up the lane on a dirt road is a bit scary at first and best attempted in an 4-wheel drive vehicle. But, we got used to it and we’re pros at it by the end of the week. The owners were very responsive and provided a binder of helpful information. Plenty to do in the surrounding area. We even hiked the trail from the house down to the Chatooga River! Make sure you are in good shape for the hike back up to the house, though! We would happily stay here again!
