Lakeside Pines located on Pickerel Lake

We had a fantastic time together. The yard was excellent especially for our two dogs . And just lounging. We loved the location. The bedroom above the garage that had multiple beds in it was a tad bit tricky for me. There is a larger than normal step up to the bed that I actually tripped up on. And was scary for me at nighttime. I was told that it had a door that closed it off for privacy but it did not. It worked for my husband and I but could not persuade anyone else in our group to stay up there. Everything else was awesome and we would definitely come again.

The lodging checked all of our boxes, 3 bedrooms and a large lofted area for our 6 grandkids. The lake was wonderful for swimming by the pier and it handled all 3 of our boats. Plenty room between the house and the lake to play in as weel as a very nice fire pit for night time entertainment. The 4 kayaks were a big hit with the whole family. The house is fully furnished for all needs in the kitchen. NO Mosquitos as it has a mosquito service. Kids caught lots of fish to include perch, bluegills, bass and northern pike.

The staff was very friendly and helpful during the booking process as well as during our stay. We did have to reach out a couple times for minor questions but everyone was friendly about it.This was the cleanest place we’ve ever stayed at ! We have a non shedding dog and I really appreciated that there was no trace of any other dogs having stayed there previously. I would Highly recommend Anchor Rentals to anyone! I just wish we’d found them sooner!!

Larger living room area, well stocked kitchen, large patio area and use of garage were nice amenities to have. We had no issues during our stay and would definitely consider staying here again in the future.

For what we pay I don’t think it’s right to have surveillance cameras watching us. If there is a problem with the wood than it should be in a locked shed, don’t leave it in the wide open.

Mattresses are pretty uncomfortable and the primary bedroom upstairs with the balcony has a skylight right over the bed. If you're coming here for a vacation in the summer, be prepared to be awakened at about 4am. Who wants that when they're on vacation???? During our stay that was a major issue, plus we woke to a hornet crawling on us and also in the skylight. Maintenance came soon after we called, but the nest was so high they couldn't remove it, could only spray it. Sounded like it had been an issue previously when we called. The kitchen needs some serving spoons and a few ceramic serving bowls that are microwavable. If all these issues were fixed, we'd stay here again!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First off, the updates the owner did on the Lakeside pines rental is amazing, didn't even look like the same place. The staff at Anchor rentals was as usual very helpful with all and any questions we had and were prompt to answer them. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a great experience. Even when there was a problem with the check I gave them (MY FAULT, WROTE THE WRONG YEAR) they were understanding and the issue was resolved. The property is in a great location on Pickerel lake and is a great family place to get away to. Is was very clean upon arrival and ready for our stay. All the grandkids refer to it as the frog house because of the pond on the side and spent many hours catching frogs around it. I have rented from Anchor rentals for 4 years now and have been very pleased with everything about them and would highly recommend them for your next northwoods vacation.
