Wonderful home with a stunning bluff view of Lake Michigan! The large house with the well stocked kitchen and many amenities make it very accommodating. The deck off of the back has a gorgeous view and it is gated so small children can play safely while adults enjoy the perfect Lake Michigan sunsets. The campfire spot is very picturesque overlooking the lake. There is plenty of sleeping room and hang out space throughout the house. We loved it and will definitely return! Highly recommend!!!

Great location, beautiful views. Enjoyed the outdoor fires, and golf courses nearby. Could use some blankets for the beds for the cold fall nights.

Very clean, tons of kitchen and cooking appliances

This was a wonderful place for our family to get away. We really enjoyed the location- it was quiet with amazing views. We enjoyed the evening sunsets, and utilized the beach and the rock hunting opportunities. Prepare yourself for some steps! While it’s absolutely worth the trips up and down, it’s a good workout to get back up from the water- especially toting a toddler. We had a 1 1/2 year old with us, and she thoroughly enjoyed the beach as well. Only thing to note with toddlers in the house, is the amount of steps in the house as well- however, the owners do provide a baby gate which was thoughtful. The house is spacious and comfortably slept everyone we had. It’s a short trip into Manistee, and a 30(ish) minute drive to Ludington that goes by quick with cute back roads. We would definitely book this house again.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel it’s necessary to be honest for future guests. Unfortunately, our experience at this beach house was overall below expectations. We did love the beach, view and large space! The house was not clean when we arrived. This was disruptive to our vacation. The property manager was friendly, responsive and quick to get someone out to clean and we appreciate that! The house had a musty smell throughout, and it was clear that general maintenance and overall cleanliness were not a priority. The front door lock did not work, which raised security concerns. Many of the windows and a main doorwall wouldn’t open all the way – some not at all – which is especially frustrating for a beach house where fresh air and ventilation should be a given. It was very diappointing to have a musty smell and lack of airflow. Additionally, the yard was cluttered with old wood and debris, which made the outdoor space feel uninviting and neglected.Overall, this property has a lot of potential due to its location, spacious size and beautiful view with private beach!! But it’s in serious need of a deep clean, repairs, and regular upkeep. I hope the owner takes this feedback seriously to improve the experience for guests!

We had a wonderful time here. The place was very clean and had just about everything you would need for the be very comfortable stay. Great location for with stunning sunsets. We highly recommend!

This property worked out great for us. It was close to the 3 golf courses we played during our stay and provided the perfect view to relax with a cold one after the rounds. Plenty of room for 9 old college buddies to hangout and reminisce in the house, out on the deck, or around the fire pit. Would do it again!

Everything was wonderful except the grill needed a good scrubbing, the brush to clean the grill was awful! The construction next door started too early, 8:30 but we were gone most of the day so our evenings were very nice! The kitchen was stocked and labeled nicely! The view was spectacular! The family staying there with us were from Berlin, Germany and they really enjoyed our stay!

Amazing place, amazing views, amazing vacation!

Plenty of space indoors and out for our extended family. Beautiful view from the deck and enough seating to eat on the deck or go inside if it’s raining. The upstairs bedrooms were uncomfortably hot for a couple of days/nights, but the overall experience compensating for that. The beach was great for rock-hunting, lazing back with a book and/or watching for eagles (which we saw every day). We’re looking forward to returning next year!

We had a great week here with our growing family of young and middle aged adults and a one year old. A week filled with fun and laughter. Good golf nearby. And the stairs to the beach kept us all in shape

We had a great time in this Manistee home on Lake Michigan. The sunset and lake views were gorgeous, the beach access was excellent, and the quiet neighborhood was welcoming. This home is under new management, and they are well on their way to making the necessary changes and fixes to get the house up to a five-star rating.

Every year we head up to Manistee for a Fourth of July family vacation. This year we decided to stay farther out of town than normal. The place was wonderful and isolated and offered a completely different vibe than staying in or near the city.

Our stay was wonderful! The steps to beach (89) are in great shape and my family loved the fact that they could go any time they chose! The beach was completely private and it was great having it all to ourselves. We arrived in 95 degree humid weather and were concerned since only the first floor is air conditioned but with fans and the evening cooler temperatures made sleeping no problem. The kitchen was spacious and pretty well-stocked. All 3 bathrooms were nice. We spent a lot of time on the deck and the view of Lake Michigan is great!

The property is stunning, the view from the house is spectacular, and the deck was perfect for relaxing and taking in the view. Beach access was great.

Our family had a great time at this home. The hosts, Mike and Tammy were great with communications and went above and beyond in helping us with a couple of items we forgot when we left. I would highly recommend this house for a large family with kids. The beds were very comfortable and there was a lot of space for everyone to find their own place when we were all there.The view of Lake Michigan was fabulous. Beautiful sunsets and a lovely beach for the kids to play at. Highly recommend this place for your Manistee vacation needs.

House was everything we expected. Great time and great owner.

We really enjoyed our time at this property. We’re already considering a longer trip next summer.

We were five older adults (2 couples and a single),and were able to put each household on their own floor with their own bathroom and a king bed, which was great. The kitchen is very nicely stocked with pans, knives, dishes, etc, which made it much easier to have family dinners together. The deck is really terrific. Our only caution is that there is a house being constructed next door. The foundation is pretty close to done, but we got one morning of the constant beep beep of earth-moving equipment. They didn't start til 8:00am, but 2 of the 5 of us were from the West Coast which meant it was 5:00 am their time. Not so idyllic. Only happened one morning, don't know how much more beeping will occur. The hosts were great answering questions (where's the Kreurig?) and we felt they'd take care of anything that might come up.

Spent a few days here with the family. House is beautiful and kitchen has everything you need. Kids loved roasting s’mores on the fire. Fantastic view of Lake Michigan. Took a polar plunge which was refreshing. Owners were excellent hosts with timely and helpful communication. Would definitely stay here again.

This place is beautiful, the cottage is super cozy and clean, the view from the deck is amazing, complement it by the cute outdoor fire pit with plenty wood to burn and the best is the gorgeous private beach access with crystal clear water. We had a great and peaceful family weekend . Five star host, attentive to all details. Thank you

I arrived at this facility with 3 of my 6 guests. Condition of the home was absolutely horrible. We could not stay in this home as patio door frames and window cranks were broken. Unbelievable flies (alive and deceased) The list is long with supporting pictures

The location and view of the lake were fantastic. However, the interior and exterior need updating. The exterior grounds have been neglected and need some attention. The fire pit area has several stumps that pose a trip hazard. The interior needs some serious updating. Additional, the cleanliness of the home could have been significantly better.

We had daughters, son in laws and grandchildren with us for one week. Everyone enjoyed their stay. Fire pit was a big hit. Nice deck. The cliff edge (common to most properties in this area) was a constant worry for the 3-year old but short non-lawn area acts as a deterrent. The 88 steps to lake was a good workout for grandpa but grandma couldn't manage it. No A/C in sleeping rooms as noted in the description was not a major problem as we had 65-70^ breeze every evening. Lower level rooms are more rustic than upper levels and need refresh. House has strange layout with 3 front doors and two stairs; was it a duplex at one time??? Carpet on main stair was ready for the dumpster a while ago. Overall, a positive experience. Thanks!

Pros: great setting, beautiful views of the lake, lots of bedrooms for our large family, nice fire pit, wonderful little beach area (down approximately 88 steep stairs), large kitchen. Cons: this house needs a decent cleaning and maintenance. The carpeting on the entryway stairs is dirty and stained, the bathroom floors were dingy around the edges, the window sills had bugs, there were dust mice under the beds, and we battled fruit flies the entire week. Every bathroom had loose fixtures, the kitchen chairs had legs falling off, the freezer had a hard time freezing, 2 out of 3 refrigerator door racks were broken, the dishwasher top rack was broken. This was such a disappointment, especially considering how much we paid for a week here. We understand that a lake house might be a bit rustic, but this was not up to VRBO standards.

The sunsets from the deck of the house are stunning and the location of the house, close to Manistee and among other beautiful homes is perfect. However, the house is 'tired'. The carpeted stairway leading to the main level is stained and years passed replacement (It's the first thing you notice when you enter the home). The laminate flooring throughout the house is of low quality and coming apart. The doors and windows all need to be replaced. The layout of the house worked well for our families (8 adults and 5 small children). The kitchen functioned well and their was plenty of room for dining. The 89 steps to the beach, while in good shape, are all the exercise I needed for the week. The beach is small and rocky and the wood in the water (former breakwall??) is somewhat unsafe for the kids. We chose to use the public beaches, downtown Manistee, which are a short drive away, and absolutely awesome...very clean and great facilities. There are several well-maintained and challenging (but very playable) golf courses in close proximity to the house. The evening concerts in the area are fabulous. Overall, I fell in love with Manistee and the surrounding area and will definitely return someday.
