Lake Michigan Beach home, sandy beach, Brand new hot tub Feb 2026.

We had an awesome time! Gorgeous views, beautiful hot tub and plenty of room. Would stay here again!

HOT TUB WAS HOT! VERY GOOD. Had everything we needed in the kitchen. Manistee is a hoot and a half. Parking can only fit four cars in driveway and there's no street parking.

The views are amazing! The house was very clean and communication was excellent. The description and photos are accurate. The new hot tub is awesome! We would definitely stay at this property again!

The hosts were responsive, friendly, and very accommodating! The house itself is beautiful. We went for a winter girl’s trip and it was so perfect and cozy. We loved the hot tub and the fireplace, and going down to the water with all the ice was very cool. We are already talking about returning next year!

Everything about the property was just as we expected. Listing gave us all accurate information. We stayed with 5 retired (or semi retired) couples. Ample room for all of us. Beds were very comfortable. Since it was cold, snowy and windy, we did not visit the beach or use the hot tub. We were there to celebrate the holidays in Manistee- a fast 15 mile minutes away. We had a lovely time- Our hosts were very responsive to any questions we had.

The home was lovely and had amazing Lake Michigan views. We watched a winter storm blow in while we were nice and warm next to the fireplace. What a great place for a larger family to stay!

This was such an awesome little weekend! Views were incredible and the house was lovely. The kitchen had nearly everything in it you'd need, aside from the food. Bedrooms were roomy and private with plenty of sleeping spots. Living room was comfy and cozy with great views out the windows. Thanks for letting us experience this place!

It was gorgeous! We loved it and area already talking about booking another trip. The house was perfect, roomy, great location, and the best views! It was also stocked full of anything you need.

Everything surpassed our expectations. Words don't do the stunning views of the Big Lake justice; whether the brilliant sunsets, or the glow of the morning Sun, it's better than the pictures!Soaking in the hot tub under the stars was also a huge highlight.As was the fire pit, both that morning and at night! It's close to town and multiple restaurants, grocery store and areas of interest.And is a great launching pad for day trips to do some.Hiking or more coastal viewing! The hosts are available if needed, and provided a multitude of great insights as to some local spots, places to eat drink and sites to see!We had an amazing time here and would definitely come back!

The views over top of the lake are so stunning. Our group swam down in Lake Michigan multiple times, the access via the stairs is so nice. Great kitchen, plenty of spaces to sleep, & easy check in/check out.

We loved the situation of this property and its view of the lake and sky from both inside and outside. The cottage was furnished with everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and we really enjoyed our time there--walking the beach, relaxing, hot-tubbing, sitting at the campfire, and playing games.

Very nice floor plan for family. The view off the front of the house is amazing! Very relaxing. Enjoyed walking down to the water too!

House was nice, water has a sulfur odor so if that bothers you, I suggest brining bottles to drink. Water from fridge is ok. The hot tub was pretty gross when we first arrived- luckily my husband knows how to get the chemicals in order. After he cleaned the filter the hot tub was good for the rest of the weekend. Overall a decent stay.

This property checked all the boxes for us. Wonderful beach, fabulous cliff top views of lake Michigan, fire pit and lovely hot tub were bonuses. Plenty of room for a large family to be together yet still have some personal space. Nicely equipped kitchen - we love to cook and share meals!

A lovely place to stay - great for a group of friends. There was a lot of space, plenty of beds, a hot tub and such a great beach to spend time rock picking and hanging out. Definitely be ready for a leg work out with all the stairs, but so worth it!

The property was a bit off the beaten path, so it was very peaceful. The view was exceptional, although the bluff is super steep (which was mentioned before we checked in). The stairs down to the lake are new. The beach at the bottom is not the best for swimming. It’s very rocky and there are remnants of old seawalls sticking out of the water. The beach in town is a much better option. The house had plenty of space; however, one of the rooms on the second floor did not have A/C and the rooms in the basement smelled musty, which is probably not uncommon given you are literally on the lake. I put some odor absorbers down in there and they did the trick. There were just enough bath towels for the six of us, but no beach towels. And, some of the bath towels were super damp (i.e. wet) when we arrived, which was a bit unpleasant. Maybe they were not fully dry when the cleaning crew put them out. We just re-washed them. Check-in and out was very easy. We only contacted the property manager with one issue regarding a TV remote and they were very responsive. The kitchen had plenty of space. The fridge is exceptionally cold, so anything put towards the back froze. We couldn’t find a setting to check the temp, but it wasn’t a huge problem. Wi-Fi worked well. It went down one time, but only for a few hours. The house has parking for four cars, but the parking pad is very tight (we had two cars). Overall, we had a nice family trip. Having never stayed in Manistee, we enjoyed the area!

What a fabulous location. The home had some amazing views and the sunsets are remarkable. We enjoyed the comfort of the home and it had everything we needed. We did experience some issues but the owners had been very responsive and communicated with us about all their efforts to fix the situation.

We had a wonderful time staying at the Red Cottage. We thought the property was even better in person then the photos listed. My husband and I spent time with our daughter and two of her adult children and her teenager. There was plenty of room for us. The beds were very comfortable and the linens and towels were nice quality. We enjoyed playing games at the large dining table. We also used the hot tub to relax. The lake view from the house is beautiful and the sunsets each evening were spectacular. It was extra nice having the steps to the beach. The kitchen seemed to be well stocked for cooking meals. We however skipped cooking and enjoyed eating at many of the local restaurants. There are many outdoor activities, hiking, beaches, nature abounds all close to the cottage. We defiantly recommend this property and would stay here again.

We enjoyed our time here. We stayed for a golf trip for three nights. Plenty of beds to spread out and a nice living area. We would stay here again.

This was the perfect spot for a lowkey weekend. Located on a quiet road, but not too far from town. The house is spacious and comfortable and the views from the hot tub were breathtaking. The hosts were wonderful and great communicators. We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful property and home! Our only issue was green water in the hot tub. The owner was quick to respond, and suggested available chemicals, but nothing worked. I felt that when a cleaning fee of 200 is being charged, the tub should have been maintained. That was a major selling point when seeking a rental for this weekend with our friends. This was the ONLY issue we had.

This place was fabulous for our group of 6! The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. The hot tub was a hit with several of us. We did have a snafu with the dishwasher, it decided to not want to be unlocked. I messaged Tammy , she and Mike happened to be down the street checking on another rental. This was Friday night at 9:30, mind you & they came right away! They were so kind and helpful! The dishwasher ended up needing to be replaced, but it was no big deal for us. I do a yearly girl's trip and this location was perfect. It kept us warm and comfortable. The kitchen has most things you could need, pots, pans, spices, utensils, which is always a plus. The beds were all comfortable enough and have a good amount of privacy. The hot tub was perfect and the views were great. Would stay again!

Have been interested in staying here for over a year due to the location and hot tub!! Told the host this upon booking, specifically mentioning the hot tub. Get there, take cover off hot tub, and it's half full! Door from sunroom to hot tub frozen shut. We tried it, water was hot but water level too low to stay in it comfortably in such cold weather. Called the host, then texted two hours later. Host finally texted back but did not receive it until the next morning. Host said to fill it with the hose (it was frozen) and asked for pictures and for me to treat the hot tub. Ok...but please fix it before we get back from skiing this afternoon. Host advised he would reach out to his guy and it should be ready by this evening. I asked for updates, none were provided. Texted on our way home and asked if all was well. No response. Got back, nobody had been on site and situation was the same. Called host, no answer. Texted host, no response for over an hour. Finally got a response saying he couldn't get ahold of anyone to come out. This is when you're telling me? I shared my disappointment (pleasantly, can prove this). He offered a late check out and to get the bill for our meal on the way out of town. We did neither. Realized later we left our suits and towel in the dryer. I reached out to him to have him ship them to us. He said he would. Followed up several times...no tracking, no follow up, no suits two weeks later. So frustrating!!

We enjoyed our stay. We had a nice weekend with all our kids and grandkids together under one roof. Making food, playing games, sitting in the hot tub and staying warm by the fire. Making memories.We would love to comeback. a again.

It was an amazing view

The view of Lake Michigan from the property was absolutely beautiful. It does sit high on a bluff with many steps down to the beach but well worth the trek down. Beautiful stones and driftwood. Not much of a swimming beach. The firepit area was a fantastic place to watch the sunsets and we had the opportunity to watch the Northern Lights overMiMichigan.MichiganMichigan. .tand ha

This was an older property but the view was great..we had some mold in the upstairs bath and was taken of same day…need air conditioning in the basement. Manistee was close so this was a convenient location.

We had a great two-day retreat here with my research lab. The views of Lake Michigan were stunning, the beach was fun, and we were able to put the kitchen to good use. We had a blast!
