I’ve been meaning to write this review sooner but finally here it is. We stayed at Ky creek cabin Dec 2023 for 2 nights before heading up to NC for Xmas. The exterior of the property is very cute decorated with string lights, 2 fire pits & a lovely creek at the end. The cabin itself is older with modern, cozy touches decorated along the home.Close to downtown Dahlonega, restaurants & wineries. Now for the negatives: First off both bathroom tubs are disgusting. Covered in mildew & mold all along the edges & interior. Hence why the curtain is all you see in photos online. The Water pressure in both tubs are very poor. The pull out bed in the couch was thin, full of food crumbs & we even found children’s toys inside. The Bedroom mattresses were thin & not very comfortable. Throughout the cabin I found balls of hair dog/human, dust & even dead roaches that you can tell have been there much longer than just a week. I took photos of all these things but don’t see an option to display them here. & the worse part for me and my family was not knowing if the sheets had been changed before the last visitors were there. We noticed hair, crumbs, stains in both beds, towels, quilts & even supposedly clean sheets in the closets. It was so upsetting & quite disgusting. Frankly unacceptable. The host refunded us the cleaning fee but the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

It’s a cute cabin getaway on pretty property. However, be aware this “shared property” is an understatement. The second building is steps away. So close that their cigarette smoke wafted over to the back patio and put quite the damper on our outdoor dining. So close it was kind of creepy and forced to close all blinds when it got dark. For a cabin on two acres, never would I have imagined the next place was so close. Put a damper on what otherwise would have been a great experience. Also know the cabin is rustic, not modern amenities - which was fine for us. The closeness to the next guest was not fine.

The hosts were very attentive and friendly throughout! Amenities of the rental were great: everything works well and the house was very clean and comfortable. We loved the outdoor area and privacy it provided, the sound of the creek at night was lovely. Great location, close to everything in town! Highly recommended!!

The shower upstairs leaked onto the bed downstairs the first time my guest attempted to use it. We booked this location for the 2nd bathroom and couldn’t use the shower the remainder of our stay. Also in the upstairs bath were several dead cockroaches upon arrival. Dog poop in the backyard as well. Overall, the property felt older than what the pictures show and overpriced for the issues we had.

Ky Creek Cabin was the perfect cozy home for a much-needed quiet escape! The cabin and grounds are beautiful, and the proximity to the Square in Dahlonega, as well as to the stores in Dawsonville, was perfect. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay!

What we liked: The communication from the owners. The proximity to Dahlonega. The outside area/natural beauty of the area. The overall size of the house was satisfactory for the four of us. The owners did prepare a nice welcome coffee mug full of k-cups and several bagged snacks. What we didn't like: The stairs going to the top floor were very steep and tall. No one enjoyed going up or down them. To make matters worse, the handrail at the top of the stairs had been pulled away from the wall. The shower head in the shower upstairs is not very high. My 5'8 daughter had to duck to get under it.There was a leak that came from upstairs, presumably from the shower my daughter was using at the time, that leaked onto the downstairs bed. (The owner was very responsive and accommodating about this situation.)The screen on the downstairs television was going out. Made it hard to watch. It also buffered a good bit due to slow wireless internet. The TV said it had 3 mbps internet speed. Owner was unaware of the condition of the tv.Final thoughts: At first it is easy but the closer you look the more you see that bothers you. For example, the wood used as baseboard throughout the house is used in the shower separating the tub and shower wall. Some things looked like they were patched instead of being fixed correctly. I'm sure the owner will correct the issues. If you aren't bothered by, or need, the other things then give it a try. We'll likely look elsewhere.

The house was clean. Bath-cloths were lacking - only 2, so if you have more than two people... There are no towel bars on which to hang a damp towel. The kitchen is small, but it is adequate for vacation cooking : ). There really is a lot to love about the Dahlonega area. If you must go to Helen (which I think is very touristy-tacky) it's about 35 minutes. Otherwise, visit Dahlonega, Blairsville, or any number of fabulous hiking trails and waterfalls. The beds were comfortable. The yard is nice. The deck overlooking the backyard is lovely. Location is convenient for Dahlonega, Amicalola, and, if you must, the Dawsonville outlet mall. Publix has a new, large store in Dahlonega - thank goodness, because the very old Walmart was the only option for decades. The house is on a quiet road with minimal traffic.

The property was AWESOME! The cabin is on plenty of land and is so private. The back deck has a great view. We loved the location in relationship to downtown Dahlongena. Our only critique is the furniture. The cabin needs a comfortable couch and a few more chairs in the living room. The back deck could use new patio furniture as well. But again, we would stay

I stayed here for 2 days as a personal sabbatical to take a break from the noise of life and reset. It was perfect. The sound of the creek at night was so relaxing, and I was able to just be one with nature. I had my two German Shepherds, and they loved running and playing in the creek. It was a perfect retreat. The home was clean and comfortable and had so many amenities. There was nothing that I needed that they didn't have. I will definitely book with Carson Cabins again.

Host was incredible! Had an emergency and needed housing asap. She let us check in same day! The snacks on the table were very much appreciated after our ordeal. House was cozy, covered porch was wonderful on rainy days, kids and dogs loved the creek. Property is private, plenty of room to walk the dogs, there’s a fire pit out back that would be awesome (we just had too much rain to try it out), and we saw some super cute baby deer! House is only 10-15 min from restaurants, Walmart, etc, but far enough out to still be quiet and relaxing. I’d definitely return and recommend.

We had a great time here! The house was clean, fully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, smart TV in living room and upstairs where our teen slept. He loved having the whole top floor to himself. The bathrooms were large and had plenty of hot water. The outside was our favorite part. We loved playing in the creek. Beware of wildlife (it is the woods) we saw bear tracks and a large snapping turtle. We helped him find his way safely back down creek. The property is beautiful. It was great having benches along the creek side to relax and have morning coffee. The covered porch was a nice bonus too. If you’re looking for a quiet retreat this is the place. It’s also close to a dollar general so we picked up things on the way in so we wouldn’t have to leave. Lots to do in town like shopping around the cute historic square or touring the gold mine which I highly recommend! We panned for gold there and came home with some, so try your luck and book this place.

Exterior of the Property is beautiful. I couldn’t keep my kids out of the creek. The bedrooms were nicely decorated and explain why they take up most of the photos on the site. Unfortunately the remaining interior was not as nice. It needed a serious deep cleaning and visit by an exterminator. There was no working washer, no cleaning supplies and 7 towels and 2 washcloths for a family of 4 for 10 days. The tub and all dishes in the kitchen were disgusting. Being out in the woods, there is no laundromat remotely close by so we had to resort to washing things in the sink (not the tub because it was filthy). Proximity to downtown Dahlonega made this the obvious booking choice for us. Unfortunately we left 4 days early because of our overwhelming anxiety being in the filthy cabin. Reached out to owner and was told we would not be refunded for those 3 nights- currently working with customer service about that. Coincidentally, VRBO will not allow me to upload pictures of the dead bugs and dirtiness into this review. If owner deep cleaned cabin and got working washer I would stay here again.

I got this cabin hoping my wife would have a nice place to get away with our 2 kids while I was in Savannah. The cabin was not clean, there was a mildew and mold smell in the house, the pots, pans, stove, coffee pot was filthy. The upstair railing is in shambles. The grill was rusted out. The downstairs/basement had been flooded and gutted. Screws exposed in the floor board. I will be in contact with both my credit card company and VRBO about the cost of this stay.

Loved the location, close to town, hiking and outdoor activities. Beds comfortable, AC worked great, the deck off the back was perfect for relaxing and enjoying meals. We like to make a majority of our meals at the cabin. The kitchen was suitable for basic cooking- not much space to store pantry items for a week but enough pots and pans to get the job done. For the location, lots of hiking trails close by, enjoyed the butterfly garden, mining cave tour, and tubing with Appalachian Outfitters (all w/in 15 min of cabin). There were only 2 cons - one more seat for the living room if possible and laundry availability would have been nice but we had a great stay and would recommend!

The cabin was cute outside and the deck was very nice. The inside was disappointing though. There was very limited seating in the LR and was not comfortable. Although the cabin boasts up to 6 guests, there was only a sofa bed that was not comfortable to sit on for 2, much less more. A lamp in the living room would be nice too. The water pressure was very low in showers, there was a dirty pizza pan in the oven, and there was as no TV in the downstairs bedroom. The bed mattress was thin upstairs and not comfortable. The front steps had mossy slime on them, resulting in my husband falling down three steps. Nice vicinity to Dahlonega and hostess left treats.

Amazing! CLEAN! Peaceful! This is the place to stay so you can stop exhausting your searches, like I do obsessively. There is so much magic to be found here. The house is unique in secluded. Clean!!! I am very funny about cleanliness and this was immaculate. No dust, nothing out of place, bathrooms were spotless and kitchen was sparkling. Linens were crisp and fresh. The grounds were gorgeous and peaceful. And the owner was more than accommodating to any request or thought I had and she’s very kind. This might be one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. I am very hard to please, and this place was beyond what I could’ve expected This was an absolute GEM. My dogs had so much fun playing and running and just enjoying themselves. This place was beyond what I could’ve expected. Seriously you can book this place and know that you are going to enjoy yourself You can even pan for gold in the stream in the backyard! Close to town but far enough to feel secluded. We loved Ky Cabin and we hope others will find the magic and peace that this place holds!
