June’s Place In The Country

Perfect vacation getaway.Peaceful,relaxing, and so charming. We will definitely stay again.

This is our fourth stay and it is always wonderful. Very quiet and peaceful and the home is immaculate.

We really enjoyed our stay and appreciated the full kitchen. The pond is cool and we had fun watching the geese that visited. We hope to return!

Great place! Would love to stay again. Area felt safe, not far from local restaurants. Close to nearby cities for additional food, shopping and activities. The yard was great. The house was very clean and the perfect size for a quick little get away for a long weekend. Host was caring and kind, wanted to make sure we arrived okay. I hope to stay again!

The house was very well decorated and very clean. We traveled to be with my Grandparents for Thanksgiving Holiday. They live on the Blue Ridge Parkway so this country location was a close drive to their home. It had been years since we had seen them, so we had a good family reunion with the group.

The house was immaculate! It was very cozy and the bed was very comfortable. My cat enjoyed her overnight stay as well! The communication with the host was perfect! I would definitely stay here again!

The cabin was absolutely fabulous, and the pond, wild geese and singing frogs added to the serenity and peace the property presented, Loved being there and look forward to another stay in the future.

Wonderful find! About 10 minutes from town. Very clean and well equipped home. Comfortable bed. Perfect for two people. We look forward to returning.

We had a fantastic weekend in Galax. This is our 3rd stay at Shepherd's Rest and, as usual, the home was clean and inviting. The weather was beautiful though we were probably a week early for leaf peeping. Kathy is an excellent communicator. We look forward to staying here again.

Nice place to enjoy the many offerings of the region. Perfect size for 2 - husband + wife. Pet friendly. We enjoyed biking the New River Trail, the Blue Ridge Parkway and music at the Blue Ridge Music Center.

Everything we hoped for. Very clean and so relaxing. We loved the tranquility and atmosphere. Watching the clouds over the pond and listening to the rain was wonderful. Kathy was a great host and everything was perfect. Just wish we could have stayed longer. 5 stars and 2 thumbs up!

This was my first time using Vrbo. I had used other services in the past. This was a great experience. House was clean, well furnished, and in a great location close to Galax Hillbilly Days.

I have been in real estate for 37 years and this property was beautiful. The scenic view from the covered porch and the inside was as comfortable as staying in your own home (very comfortable). The location is just 10--15 minutes into downtown Galax but being in the peaceful setting was more than anyone could ask for. The two little pups enjoyed the large backyard (acre+) that they could run. The place as spotless and the beds were really comfortable. I would definitely and will stay again. The owners of this property keep this place in wonderful condition and exceptionally nice people.

This is a lovely property. Check in was so easy. It's a bit out of town, which is not a bad thing. Very comfortable with full bed/bath/living room and nicely supplied kitchen with full range, cookware, dishwasher, coffee maker. I wasn't so sure about accommodations for our 16' motorcycle trailer. In the end, all worked out OK. For motorcyclists, the coarse gravel on an incline in and out makes for some squirrly arrivals and departures, but thankfully no major issues. We loved our time here.
