Historic Heath House steps from the Neuse River

Host went out of his way to ensure a comfortable stay. A snow storm threatened to cancel our trip & he shoveled the front walk & steps so we could get into tbe house safely & took the time to check out road conditions for us. Freshly baked cookies greeted us when we arrived. Home is well equipped, clean, and very comfortable!

Neighbors were inquisitive but friendly. The rule for families with children under 25 is a bit excessive. Home is cozy and clean. Great location convenient to downtown and Neuse River.

Everything was perfect! The only thing not mentioned in the description was the near-by railroad... but, that wasn't an issue for us at all.

This is a wonderful house, perfect location and lots of extra amenities. We reserved it for our sons wedding and it was a great fit, very comfotable and well equipped and the backyard was great

Check-in was easy. House is clean and beautiful. Listing was fair and accurate. Not in the heart of downtown but still close and convenient. Owner responded promptly to any questions we had.

Such a cute house. Warm and welcoming. Neighbors were sweet and gave us recommendations for places to go eat and see.

This was our 4th stay at the Heath House and it still exceeds our expectations. There was a bit of a hiccup at the beginning but PJ responded and took care of the problem quickly. Things happen so it’s how the problem is corrected that matters most. We love the location and the ambiance of the house. Very comfortable and homey. We will definitely be back.

We loved this house. It had all the comforts of home with a historic feel. We enjoyed sitting out on the front porch, the fully stocked kitchen, barbequeing on the amazing grill provided,the friendly nighbors, comfortable king size bed just to name a few things. The personal touches such as fresh flowers and delicious cookies made us feel welcome upon arrival. I would definitely stay here again!!

The neighborhood is absolutely lovely, wish the weather was better so we could have used the kayak and paddle board. The backyard was great.

Great home to stay in the Bern

The house and location was perfect. I recommend it to everyone.

Lovely historic home in close proximity to the river and dog park just around the corner. We enjoyed the original windows, one with a small bulet hole and wondered what stories the house has to tell. The floors, stairway and furniture made the historical experience that much more enjoyable for us. We will absolutely be returning to New Bern again for further investigation for our next location.

Cute home with a lot of character. Great mattress on the bed and location was esy to access downtown New Bern.

This is the third time we’ve stayed at this house and still love it. The Great location, great neighbors, and a very sweet neighborhood cat all make staying here a real treat. The house is very clean and comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked. We’ll definitely stay here again.

We stayed at this house for MumFest. The house was well-located (~20 minute walk to MumFest and the heart of downtown New Bern). Everything was well-prepared for our stay, and communication with P.J. was quick, thorough, and friendly. We'd be happy to stay here again!

We have always loved New Bern and comenevery year. The Heath house is beautiful, however, the upstairs bedroom was significantly warmer than downstairs. I went and bought a small fan to help keep my husband and I comfortable at night.

We had a wonderful stay at Heath House. It was beautifully furnished and well appointed. We were able to find everything we needed to use the kitchen and had a nice cookout on the deck. The house is close enough to downtown to make it accessible but in a quiet neighborhood. The neighbors were very nice and took the trash out for us when they knew the trash collection was coming. New Bern is a wonderful town! Many restaurant options and so much history. P.J. was responsive and wanted to make sure we had a great stay. We look forward to visiting again!

Our 1st visit to New Bern and this home didn’t disappoint. PJ is very easy to reach & check in was seamless. Upon arrival the home was very clean and exactly as described. The beds were very comfy & loved enjoying morning coffee on the porch. There are train tracks behind the home which were quite busy in the evening but overall didn’t disturb us. The home is in great walking distance to the Riverwalk & shops. Love the history of the town. We’ve stayed in VRBO’s all around the Country & this one is one of the best we’ve stayed in.
