The historic home in Charleston was perfect for two nights. Walking distance to great reasturants and shopping. Short distance to the beautiful battery park area. It was furnished with everything we needed and parking was great.

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely home. The check in process was very easy and the home was clean and inviting. The walls were a little thin and you could hear the street around you but this is common for a house built in the 1830's. Thank you for having us!

Location was great we took Uber to King Street area where there were lots of a restaurants. Beds are comfortable. The unit was what we expected in a Historic town. The exterior is old and needs paint but that didn’t bother us.

Perfect Historic Charleston Stay!We absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful historic Charleston home—it was exactly what we were hoping for! The house is very old but perfectly maintained, full of authentic charm and character that made us feel immersed in Charleston's history. It was the ideal spot for experiencing the city's Southern elegance without any of the overly modern feel of hotels. We stayed on the second floor, and the queen-size beds were incredibly comfortable—some of the best we've slept on during travel. Everything was clean, cozy, and well-appointed.The owners were wonderful communicators, responsive and helpful from booking through checkout, which made the whole experience stress-free and enjoyable.Location-wise, it's a little over a mile to vibrant King Street (with all its shopping, dining, and nightlife), but Ubers were quick and cheap—only about 6 each way. Parking can be tricky and more expensive in busier areas, so this spot offered a nice balance of quiet residential feel with easy access. We had a truly wonderful time and would stay here again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend for anyone wanting an authentic, comfortable historic Charleston experience

Location was perfect - walking distance to most sites downtown (Charleston Market about 30 min on foot). It was quiet, easy to park. And so nice to have a parking spot in Charleston! Don’t let the outside of this home fool you; it is very vintage - the inside was one of the cleanest VRBO homes I have ever stayed in, well stocked with household supplies, even coffee. Layout perfect - I came with my adult daughter and when we went to sleep, the bedrooms were far enough apart we never heard each other. Shower worked well, hot and good water pressure. Would definitely stay again!

On the plus side, the host communication was great, as was the location, close to King St and downtown shopping and restaurants. Location was our biggest factor, as we were in town for our son’s wedding and had events to attend. This is a historic home, and like any old home it does not have modern amenities. We expected that and that was fine. However, we did not expect the deferred maintenance. Peeling paint, stained furniture, a bathroom sink that doesn’t drain, a broken window directly over the bed, etc. old is okay, neglected not so much. It was obvious that there is no money being put into the property, which is a shame. But, we fortunately were busy doing a lot of things and spent little time there.

The unit is in a very run-down two story “single house” style home. The outside stairs and walkway are in need of repair. Paint peeling. Just an unfortunate first impression. Inside, the unit is clean. A tea kettle was provided (I had asked but was told I could bring my own). This would have been a nice touch, but the tea kettle has rust inside. I used a saucepan instead. The beds are comfortable, but nothing else is. There is no kitchen table to eat a meal. The living room furniture includes a small, stained sofa and two small chairs with no comfortable way to watch tv. The bathroom is clean and has the necessities. But toilet is so low to the ground. Very awkward. If you have knee problems, be careful! And you have to be very careful with uneven flooring, especially in the hall outside the bathroom which is lower than the bathroom floor or the living room and bedroom floors on either side of it, and the back bedroom floor slopes down to one side. Seems like an architectural hazard. The location was also very disappointing. It really is not convenient to walk to the most desirable parts of town. And driving on these very narrow streets is not for the faint of heart. Parking is very expensive, too. We did walk to Publix once which required traveling through littered, busy streets. It felt unsafe. As I mentioned, the beds are comfortable, and they provide white noise machines, but these are needed because there was a lot of street noise at times.

The stay was overall disappointing. From the pictures on the listing, you would never know how drab and sad this place looks. The entire place was given the “landlord special” with a slab of paint covering every imperfection. Still though, there was chipping paint, very uneven floors, and abysmal decor. The house feels like someone just learned what a living space was and put in the bare essentials. From the moment you pull up, you can see chipping paint and worn vinyl siding- my wife and I wondered if we were even at the right place. The entire place smelled strongly of cleaning product when we first arrived, but it faded after a while and the smell of the place was that of mildew or just old house. I know it’s Charleston and a historic building, but compared to the pictures in the listing, there’s just no comparison. Would not return and would not recommend.

Perfect place to stay if you want to be close to literally everything. 10 minutes to the marketplace, 8 minutes to downtown Charleston, 15 minutes to shem creek, 13 minutes to patriots point, 20 minutes to the beach. Only thing I would add, is make sure you bring a midsize SUV or smaller if staying here. I brought my truck, and it was a little tight to park. Still can't really complain about free parking on sight. Just more of PSA.

It is perfectly suited to Charleston. Were it anywhere else, the fact that a floor isn't level would be a bummer, but not here. It is charming and guaranteed old. The apartment was clean, bright, & provided everything we needed! We love walking, so staying here & walking the mile or so to explore the historic district, French quarter, and everything in between was great for us. Property management was friendly & responsive.
