Hillsdale, Michigan
This little Old Hillsdale Cottage was built in the 1850's, rehabbed in 2017 retaining as many original features as possible, antique wood floors, woodwork, cedar siding, stone foundation.
At the same time, it was upgraded to include more modern features for comfort.
Fully furnished ,2 Bedrooms with double beds & 1 small sofa so could sleep 5. Ideal for families with kids. This is for just the downstairs apartment of our duplex. The upstairs can be booked separately, or the whole house can be booked to accommodate a larger party. Just ask and we will do our best to help!
Great location too, 3 blocks from Hospital, 4 blocks from downtown, and 4 Blocks from the Fairgrounds.
The stay would have been ok if it weren’t for the fact that the beds and rooms were very dirty. I couldn’t stop sneezing from the dust, and the smell of the bedsheets was very strong. But otherwise, it did the job.
The 1st floor cottage is adorable. We love staying here when visiting Hillsdale College.
Being a repeat customer says it all. See ya in November.
This was such a quite house we were very happy and will stay there again
The house was clean, check in was easy, everything as described. The location is about 1 mile from Hillsdale University. It's an easy walk to campus and the neighborhood is quiet.
It was cheap and convenient. It was sorta clean, but it was generally uncomfortable.
The listing is accurate and the owner was very attentive and eager to help. I stayed there with my son visiting the college. We are both 6' 3 and I should have known better than to book a house with double beds (had limited options for our dates). We booked for two nights but only stayed one because of the beds being uncomfortable. The owner said she would remove the mattress toppers to solve the issue, but I didn't give her the opportunity. We went to a hotel a town over to make sure we got a good night of sleep that second night. Smaller people would probably do better.
The floor of the house was like the pictures. The bathroom was a bit tight space wise but the overall feel was cozy and charming.
Owner was kind and attentive to us. Glad we stayed there.
My son is a college student and was unable to travel home this year so I went to him. It was wonderful we were able to spend time together, cook meals, and generally relax. The house was perfect for the 2 of us and what we needed. Nancy was very responsive for all of my questions. Thank you so much for sharing your place with us.
If you love older homes, this house has the historic charm. The interior decorations were tastefully done. We will definitely be return customers.
