Wonderful mountain home with fantastic views of Longs Peak and the Rocky Mountains (City license # 3284). Situated on Davis Hill, a quiet residential neighborhood just two blocks from downtown main street. Perfect choice for vacations, family reunions, business retreats, wildlife watching, leaf peeping, etc. Whether it is a family reunion and vacation needing lots of sleeping space (number limited by city code) or a smaller get together with six sleeping areas our property is a great place. The Davis Hill Historic House, with its breathtaking view of the Continental Divide and particularly Longs Peak, began as an inn around the turn of the last century in a smaller structure. The present stone and stucco structure was built in 1923. We operated the house as a B&B for five years and after numerous requests from guests to rent the entire place to include kitchen facilities for their summer vacations, family reunions, quilting groups and off site events, we no longer operate as a B&B. We accept seven day or more rentals in the main summer season and five day or more rentals at other times. Although seldom needed, we have air conditioners in the main house great room and upstairs loft. During the 2026 prime season check in and check out will be on Sundays.
This comfortable home is in a fabulous location. On a hill in a quiet, secluded residential neighborhood, you can leave your cars parked in the reserved on site spaces and walk to downtown in five minutes. There is a stop for the town's free shuttle service (operates during the tourist season) a block and a half away. This shuttle connects to the free shuttle from town to Rocky Mountain National Park. There are numerous shops, restaurants, wine tasting rooms, distilleries, breweries and other attractions just two blocks away to include Fun City-a kids' favorite. Enjoy the fabulous mountain views, wildlife and birds from the large front porch.
The house has six bedrooms, two full baths and one half bath. The full kitchen is equipped with everything you need to whip up great meals. There is also a dishwasher and microwave. (See list of amenities below.) There is a large living room with a smart TV for streaming and comfortable furniture, including couches and a recliner, surrounding an incredible moss stone fireplace.
You can dine inside at the large dining table (original hickory style) or al fresco on the wonderful large front porch overlooking the Continental Divide.

The back wing of the main house has three bedrooms and one hall entry full bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a king bed, one has a full and single and the other has two twins. The bathroom has a claw foot tub and separate modern shower. The other main floor wing has a bedroom with a king bed and a bedroom with a full bed (''the nook''). These two bedrooms are separated by a full bathroom with a claw foot tub (tub has shower attachment). The nook also has a private exit out to the front porch. The comfortable main floor period bedrooms all have antique furniture and comfortable beds.

Upstairs is a large dormitory style bedroom that is very popular with kids and teens. There is one queen, one double, one single bed and a half bath. There is also a futon and couch for lounging.

Guests often have a hard time pulling themselves away from the view from the large porch to go explore Rocky Mountain National Park, the Stanley Hotel, the YMCA of the Rockies and beautiful downtown Estes Park with the wonderful river walk. There is a propane fire pit available out back for roasting hot dogs and making s'mores as well as a large gas grill. Skewers provided. (City ordinance prohibits wood fires for short term rentals, but even If there is a city or county fire ban in effect due to weather the code approved propane fire pit and gas grill can still be used.) There is a complementary on site laundry facility. (Laundry is shared with occasional use by owners, usually just to facilitate turnover). Detergent, spray and wash, etc. provided. We have a fenced area on the side of the house and on site reserved parking for up to four vehicles with complimentary space for a few more right across the street. A city ordinance prohibits on street parking, RVs, trailers or large campers, but guests may use the parking area across the street for those at no charge. The Estes Park Shuttle to and from the Denver Airport provides pick up and delivery right to our house for approximately $75 one way.
Maximum occupancy of 14 guests is dictated by city ordinance. We respond to all inquiries and calls promptly. Our calendar is always fully updated. We know you will enjoy your stay.

(We no longer rent the attached cottage one bedroom apartment. )

Our house is smoke free, to include the porches and decks. Smoking is permitted at the fire pit. We love pets, but do not allow them due to some guests having pet allergies.

Enjoyed the stay. Plenty of room for our group of 9 to sleep separately. Enjoyed the view of wildlife from the front porch. House was clean, easy checkout. Wished we could have stayed longer.

Super helpful and communicative hosts. Great location to town(walking distance) and RMNP. We had three families and plenty of rooms (6 adults and three ‘kids’ 16-24). Very charming with a fabulous porch (our favorite place in the Morning)! Highly recommend.

This house is in the perfect location for exploring Estes Park. It is a 5-minute walk down a hill to a beer garden, wine garden, sports bar and all the shops along the main street. The Estes aerial tram is also a short walk. We had 11 adults and 2 children (2&6) staying in the home and everyone had their own space. The upstairs loft room is ideal for a family with kids. We have rented many short-term rental vacation homes, and this one had the best-appointed kitchen of all. Any pan or appliance we needed was there. It was also very convenient to have some spices and seasonings on hand. The home is 100 years old which adds to the charm. AC is in the living room and upstairs loft. We were there the first week of July and it was comfortable. The front porch is unbeatable for morning coffee, evening games (great table) and sunset. I noticed that in 2026 guests will be required to bring their own linens which is a shame because the sheets were so soft! One thing to know if renting is to access the bedroom with the full bed, you must go through one of the bedrooms with a king bed and through the bathroom. It would be great for parents and children but maybe not for adults. There is an exterior door that leads to the porch from the full bed bedroom but to access/exit it internally you sacrifice some privacy. Be that as it may, there is so much about the house and location that make it a great rental that we would definitely book again. Communication was also top notch.

We truly enjoyed our stay and there was plenty of space for our group of 12. The house was well stocked and had everything we needed for the week. The location was perfect to be able to go into town with just a short walk which was great to not have to worry about parking a vehicle. There were plenty of activities available nearby to entertain all ages. The views from the back porch were amazing and many mornings were spent enjoying a cup of coffee on the porch and enjoying the mountain view. Jim was very accommodating and responsive when we had questions. Definitely made some great family memories during this trip and would love to stay again if we are ever back!

Davis Hill Historic House was THE perfect place for our family getaway! The house was comfortable and relaxing for all ages, providing a wonderful respite nestled between the town and National Park. The spacious porch offers unbeatable views of the mountains and the river, as well as the elk that wander by – and often stop to share the lovely yard. The kitchen and dining area are each well-outfitted for large groups, and the many beds a great match for our multi-generational gathering – although the cousins were rarely inside, as they enjoyed the porch, hammock, fire-pit, cornhole, and horseshoes. And it’s only a short walk to more entertainment at Fun City, the Aerial Tram to the top of the mountain, and many nearby shops, restaurants, distilleries, and winery. For larger groups we recommend renting one (or both) of the Rocky Mountain Views cabins next-door, for a truly special and memorable experience!

It’s a historic property. We enjoyed the gas fire pit. It’s a short walk to town. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking. We spent most of our time out on the porch talking if we weren’t hiking in RMNP, which we did every day. The view of with the sunrise is gorgeous in the morning. No complaints,

We had 13 of us stay at this wonderful house for a family reunion and trip to the Rocky Mountain National Park. The house was so spacious and well equipped with plenty of beds for us, bedding and towels. We did laundry a couple of times to keep them from piling up. The owners are friendly and helpful! The kitchen is so well equipped. I don't think there was anything we did not have that we wanted to use. The table dishes and glasses are plentiful. Lots of appliances and cookware. The attached apartment didn't have as much, but since we rented both we shared between and did fine. Maybe the only thing I thought may be missing and it's really no big deal because we had paper products, but maybe some plastic plates and cups for when some people take them outside. I would not want little kids taking glasses outside. The front porch is amazing - plenty of seating to sit and catch the mountain view. We enjoyed breakfast and coffee out there each morning. the location is excellent - 10 minutes from the entrance to RMNP and a two block walk from the tourist/shopping area of Lake Estes. The town has a Safeway grocery store, a Dollar Tree and Dollar General where we were able to get anything we looked for. Our family took plenty of food with us since some drove, but the store was a full size grocery when needed anything. there is so much to do within walking distance in town. Enough for everyone of any age. We enjoyed sitting around the large dining room table.

The property matched the online description perfectly. The highlights were as follows: 1) The location was perfect—within walking distance of downtown and just a few minutes' drive from the national park. It was in a quiet neighborhood with large lots, and we saw elk several times. 2) The property manager was highly responsive (he lives close) and responded to my questions within minutes. 3) The size was great for our large family. We had four families—three stayed in the large home with our grandkids, and my wife and I (the grandparents) stayed in the separate unit above the garage. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals. We also enjoyed the fire pit and made s'mores one night. Highly recommended.

The House was great for my family of 6 adults and 7 kids. My parents were able to stay in the adjacent apartment over the garage and get some privacy. Wildlife was abundant and would walk through the yard daily. Overall a great experience.
