The Park has playground equip. and a lake with a with a waterfall that is lit up at night. The local Lion's Club stocks the trout in the lake each season and is open to all to fish with no license needed. We hope a family member will be able to say I caught my first fish in Buena Vista! All of our kids and grandkids have enjoyed this. We have provided a few fishing poles, tackle box and worms can be bought at the local gas stations. Please leave equipment and clean bucket behind. Grandma doesn't like the fish to be cleaned in her sink, please do outside with hose and dispose of properly.

Near the Town Lake is the historic Train Depot and Caboose which will be open in the summer months. Continuing east across the highway will lead you into East Main Business District where you will find all kinds of gifts and antique shops, art galleries, Lobacks bakery (glazed donuts and longjohns, Grandpa's favorites), Heritage Museum (Grandma went to school there long ago) and numerous restaurants. Continue east and you will find a pedal park, tennis courts, softball field , and picnic area. Then the great reward, the majesty of the mighty Arkansas River with an arching footbridge over the water. Once you have crossed over please enjoy the Barbra Whipple Walking Trail and biking trails over Midland.

After you return back to Grandma's house, if you would like to go west (towards the mountains), drive approximately 3 miles and you will find the Comanche Movie Drive- In, (opened in 1966 by the Groy family). Take a blanket, a folding chair and a treat to eat and sit outside under the stars and watch a great movie. Grandpa says it doesn't get any better than that! If you travel straight past the drive-in approx. 2 miles you will find the Cottonwood Hot Springs Resort, natural hot springs that you can soak in. Straight past that approx. 2 miles is the turnoff for Cottonwood Lake. You will arrive after 3 miles to a beautiful peaceful serene mountain lake.

After you return to Grandma's House you might like to plan a trip to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs where you can soak in the river with hot water seeping from the ground or swim in the pool. The Jumpin Good Goat Dairy has free tours and samples, and you get to pet the goats. They are so cute! See the Welcome Booklet. Loved this house! It was the perfect location for our family. Close to downtown and family who lives in town. House definitely reminded me of going to Grandma and Grandpa’s house as a child.

Grandma and Grandpa's house worked out great and was centrally located for our trip to BV. Our small dog enjoyed the very nice fenced yard when we weren't on walks.

It was a lovely home that work great for a place to relax. The weather was great and so we ate all our meals outside at the picnic table they had. Wonderful trees provide great shade.

Cozy and quiet, comfortable living area and well stocked kitchen, thanks for the olive oil! ( We just used a little.) Loved being so close to everything. Tips: definitely do Mt Princeton hot springs, St Elmo ghost town and chipmunks, and the road of tunnels on east side of the river.

Grandma and Grandpa's House was fantastic. Clean, roomy, comfortable. The only thing missing was the baking cookie smell and I would have thought I was at my grandma's house. Near to town but very quiet. Can't wait to visit again.

This home is clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a wonderful week in Buena Vista. It’s within easy walking distance to town and the river. The communication with Deanna, the property manager, was clear, easy, and delightful! Our family highly recommends this property!

We had a very nice time at Grandma and Grandpas house! The yard was perfect for our dogs and son to run around and play in. The proximity to downtown and everything was amazing, and it’s a short drive to all the great hiking and biking and hot springs.

We went to Buena Vista to relive some fishing days from decades ago, enjoy the majestic Collegiate Peaks and escape the Denver heat. What surprised us was the wonderfully comfortable home that was well stocked and so perfect for our needs. The fenced yard was a bonus for our dog, and Deanna, the property manager was extraordinarily gracious. We will definitely be back someday!!

This property was so cozy, nice, clean. We did not spend much time there, but were able to enjoy breakfasts in the morning and come back to a clean cozy bed. The home was supplied well with toiletries, dish soap, towels etc. Even coffee! That was a savior. We would definately stay here again.

We stayed here for a week long fishing trip. Even though the fishing was tough, we could not have asked for more in our accommodations. The house was very clean and comfortable. You can’t go wrong booking Grandma and Grandpa’s house. Host was excellent and communicated well.
