Experience Savannah from the heart of the Historic District at Oglethorpe Estate, a recently refurnished historic home along East Oglethorpe Avenue. Accommodating up to 14 guests, the estate combines a spacious main house with a separate garden-level unit, offering plenty of room for larger groups to gather and unwind. Located beside Colonial Park Cemetery, the property is within easy reach of Savannah's restaurants, shops, squares, museums, and historic attractions.

Recently Refurnished Living & Dining Spaces
Oglethorpe Estate has been thoughtfully refreshed with new furniture, décor, and updated design elements selected to complement the character of the historic home. The interiors balance traditional details with a polished, elevated style, creating comfortable spaces for gathering while allowing the home's original architecture to remain part of the experience. The main house begins on the second level, above the separate garden-level unit. Here, the spacious living room serves as one of the home's primary gathering areas. New furnishings, including comfortable leather sofas and carefully selected accent pieces, create a refined setting for relaxing after a day in downtown Savannah. Tall windows bring natural light into the space, while hardwood floors and traditional architectural details add warmth and character. With generous seating and an open layout, the room provides plenty of space for larger groups to spend time together without feeling crowded.

Nearby, the formal dining room provides a dedicated space for shared meals, morning coffee, takeout from a favorite Savannah restaurant, or an evening spent at home. The dining area continues the home's elevated design with classic furnishings and décor that feel appropriate to the historic setting. The main house also includes a full kitchen equipped with full-size appliances, generous cabinetry, and counter space for preparing meals, storing groceries, and keeping drinks and snacks organized throughout your stay. Whether your group is preparing breakfast before heading out for the day or gathering around for dinner in the evening, having a fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to settle into the home.

Restful Sleeping Accommodations
Sleeping accommodations are arranged throughout the main house and garden-level unit, with a total of two king beds and six queen beds. On the second level of the main house, the first bedroom features two queen beds and an airy, inviting design. A sitting area within the room provides an additional place to unwind, read, or enjoy a quiet moment away from the main gathering spaces.

The second bedroom on this level features a king bed surrounded by serene colors, layered textures, and thoughtfully selected accents. Two armchairs create a separate sitting area within the bedroom, while a desk and chair provide a dedicated workspace for guests who may need to check emails, work remotely, or catch up on a few tasks during their stay. The bedroom also includes an ensuite bathroom with a tub and shower combination for added convenience. Continue to the third level, where two additional bedrooms each offer their own distinct style. One bedroom features two queen beds along with a sitting area, providing plenty of room for guests sharing the space. The second includes a king bed and another comfortable sitting area, creating a relaxing retreat at the end of the day.

With 5.5 bathrooms throughout the estate, larger groups have plenty of space to get ready and settle into their own routines. The main house includes 4.5 bathrooms across its upper levels, while the garden-level unit offers one full bathroom. This convenient arrangement allows guests staying in both portions of the estate to enjoy easy access to their own bathroom facilities.

Two Kitchens, Multiple Living Areas & Everyday Amenities
One of Oglethorpe Estate's greatest advantages for larger groups is the amount of functional living space available throughout the property. Rather than relying on one central room, guests can gather together when they want while still having separate areas to spread out throughout the day. In addition to the main house living room and full kitchen, the garden-level unit includes its own separate living area and a second full kitchen equipped with full-size appliances. The additional kitchen provides valuable extra storage and preparation space, particularly when several guests are staying at the property. Groceries, drinks, snacks, and meals can be divided between the two kitchens, making mornings and group gatherings easier to manage. The garden-level living room creates another comfortable space for conversation, watching television, or simply taking a break between Savannah outings. This additional living area can be especially helpful for multigenerational families or groups with different schedules, allowing some guests to relax downstairs while others gather in the main house. In-home laundry is also located on the garden level, making it convenient to refresh clothing and travel essentials during longer stays.

Private Courtyard & Off-Street Parking
Outside, the courtyard provides another place to enjoy the property and Savannah's mild weather. Outdoor seating creates a comfortable setting for morning coffee, conversation, or winding down after a day spent exploring the Historic District. A grill is also available for guests who would like to prepare a casual meal outdoors. Oglethorpe Estate also includes private off-street parking for up to two vehicles, a particularly useful convenience when staying in downtown Savannah. Street parking throughout the Historic District may be metered or limited depending on the area, so having designated parking at the property allows guests to leave their vehicles behind and explore much of the surrounding neighborhood on foot.

Stay in the Heart of Savannah's Historic District
Oglethorpe Estate places you within easy reach of many of Savannah's most recognizable historic sites and downtown destinations. Colonial Park Cemetery sits beside the property, while several of the city's famous squares, historic homes, museums, restaurants, and shops are located within walking distance. From the home, guests can explore nearby Oglethorpe Square and Columbia Square, visit the Owens-Thomas House & Slave Quarters, or continue toward Broughton Street for shopping, coffee, and dining. City Market, Bay Street, and River Street are also within convenient reach, offering additional restaurants, galleries, entertainment, and views along the Savannah River. Savannah is a city best experienced on foot, and staying in the Historic District allows you to enjoy the details along the way. Moss-draped live oaks, brick sidewalks, landscaped squares, historic architecture, and centuries-old streets become part of the experience as you move between destinations.

Spend the day exploring nearby museums and historic homes, stop for lunch at a downtown restaurant, browse the shops along Broughton Street, or make your way toward River Street for an evening along the waterfront. At the end of the day, return to Oglethorpe Estate with plenty of room for everyone to settle in comfortably. With accommodations for up to 14 guests, two full kitchens, multiple living and sitting areas, a dedicated workspace, a separate garden-level unit, courtyard space, in-home laundry, two private parking spaces, and a highly walkable Historic District location, Oglethorpe Estate provides the flexibility larger groups need while keeping everyone together in one property.

Rental space was perfect for our needs. The elevator was a huge asset for my mom to get around. The staircase railings are in terrible condition. Very dangerous.

Beautiful historic home. Very spacious, and within walking distance to all the attractions we were interested in.

First of all, I must say, the home itself was beautiful. That being said, we experienced many problems. Prior to our arrival, I received a message that they had a plumbing issue that should be resolved by the time we got there. We arrived and the plumber was just preparing to leave. Meanwhile, my mother, who has heart problems and COPD as a result of covid, could not climb the stairs to get up to the second (main) floor. We were supposed to have elevator access but it was locked. I was messaging the host (or the company they have acting on their behalf) to try to get access to the elevator when someone else from the same company called me to see if I could look for a firearm that the previous guests had left behind. I looked, but it wasn’t there. Almost immediately after that, the property manager showed up and had to come in to check for the firearm. While she was there, she was able to unlock the elevator door so that my parents could get upstairs. She said it should have already been unlocked for us. At the same time, another message came in from the host telling us that the plumber would have to return between 8-10 the following morning because he hadn’t rectified the problem with the leaking shower.t

Eight friends visited to attend the book festival. The location was a bit farther out from the festival than we would have liked but the house worked very well for our group. Nice sized bedrooms and well furnished. House was super clean with adequate linens provided. We did enjoy being close to the grocery store!

Beautiful home and very clean. Sleeps 12 well will need air mattresses for more than 12. The home is large enough for 3 queen air mattresses and a couple singles if needed. The only negatives that I have to say is the lighting in the 1st floor bathroom was poor and the location. We were too far from downtown so we had to Uber every time we left the house. Lots of homeless people near the house; the liquor store next door didn’t help the situation. Overall, beautiful home and accommodates a large group.

Overall we had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the beautiful house. We had a couple small issues come up during our stay-a shower curtain fell down, Refrigerator/ice maker leaked but the issues did not affect our trip at all. Southern Belle was very prompt on answering any questions we sent their way. Overall we had a wonderful stay.

This was the perfect spot to be able to walk everywhere we wanted to go in Savannah. The home was also beautiful. The only surprise for us was all of the stairs. We had some members of our family that found it hard to go up and down all the stairs but there was an elevator to help us move our luggage but it isn't something we felt comfortable using all of the time.

This property is in a great location. Close enough to walk to all the sites. The property has an elevator which really came in handy since this is a 4 story building. The property itself had plenty of space for our group. The bedrooms are all large and comfortable. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would stay here again.

We had 12 of us. Rented the entire estate including apartment which is the best space for my mom (85) and brother/wife with their two little dogs. On the main floor so easy access. The only thing that saved us for bringing in luggage and older family members was the elevator! Nice touch. Space was clean. Plenty of rooms/beds/bathrooms! Could use a kitchen towel or two plus guest bathroom towel. Pictures show a grill and a fire pit we planned to use but found out few days before that we couldn’t use and was removed actually from yard. Could use better/updated furniture out there. No outdoor space to gather basically. We had a great time though. Nice walk to restaurants and the coffee shop right around corner bonus. Your communication is through southern belle rentals and felt a little side barred trying to get information about the place through them. Info says parking for 3 cars. Was told two days before only 2. Anyone else has to pay to park out front.
