Grand Beachfront Estate on Five Private Acres w/ Kayaks, Hammocks, Snorkeling

Six of us flew into the island on a blustery day.  The plane danced from side to side down the runway, tossed by the ocean breeze like tall reed grass.  The same strong winds followed us as we made our way from the Governor’s Harbor Airport to our destination on Double Bay.  That evening we discovered why this place is called Windsong.  The gusts rolling in off the Atlantic rattled through the palm fronds, creating a soothing symphony in perfect harmony with the churning ocean waves.  Our first walk down the winding beach path revealing the picturesque white sand beach took the breath from all of us.  It was effortless to accept that this would be our home while we are here.This place is carefully designed to promote relaxation and connection.  The houses, grounds and amenities have all been carefully maintained and cultivated to make it very easy to let it all go and re-center.  Most of our meals were home cooked in the well appointed kitchen where we were all able to gather as a family and help with cooking, food prep, cleaning or conversing.  All of our meals at home were eaten at the dining table with the glass doors opened wide to the ocean view and breeze.  We also made sure to get out and eat at a couple local restaurants which were all full of character and had good food.  It can be hard to find moments of true serenity in the world, but this place seems to be overflowing with them.

My family of two adults and three teenage boys sought seclusion and simplicity on the beach and that's exactly what we found at Windsong. We initially wanted a pool, but at the time of booking, Windsong was the closest home to the water than other options with pools. Double bay has a most beautiful water and we didn't miss the pool at all. We enjoyed the peace and ease of our incredible view and effortless access to the beach. We traveled with our own tent in case we wanted shade at the beach. Strongly recommend. We had calm water days, wave jumping days and amazing snorkeling right off the beach - all along double bay. We visited other beaches on Caribbean side and preferred Double Bay. The home is luxurious in the most simple way. We found restaurants to be lacking ($40 for kid-portion of 5 fish sticks). Ended up cooking majority of meals at home over 9 days. Island Farm grocer was 5 mins away and had the best produce and meats, wines and more. When we return, we will hire a chef for the week as other reviews mention. We didn't think we would need due to rave reviews of area restaurants, but after our stay, we regret not having done so. It was too late to schedule chef arrangements once we were on the island. Note: we received an amazing guide of resources from Eleuthera Rentals. Most of the information is potentially of date or providers no longer active. Many activities listed no longer in operation (at least in July). We hoped for easy access to boat rentals, tubing, fishing, etc. We planned the trip last minute. I wish we had spent more time firming up activities before we arrived. Phones didn't work much if we were not on property. Reaching locals solely through WhatsApp was challenging. Patsy, however, was very responsive to our every question and need. Loved every minute. Would absolutely return!!

The ocean was very swimmable with gentle waves, soft sand and beautiful blue water, we even saw a turtle swim by one afternoon!! The property was very clean, well equipped and a great setup for our group of 6, which included 4 adults and 2 teens. The landscaping was gorgeous and we loved all the hammocks and shaded seating around the property. Patsy quickly responded to any questions we had and we greatly appreciated knowing she was a quick call away!! We had an amazing week in Eleuthera and a perfect stay at Windsong and hope to return again soon!!!

The character of the house makes you feel like you're back in the years long past. The palm trees, the tiki hut, and mocking birds make this property the ideal experience if you want to get away and relax Eleuthera style.

Windsong contains 3 separate bungalows with sleeping and bathrooms accommodations in each. All the housings were clean, comfortable and caretaker was available to answer any questions. One night the electricity went out as we were fixing dinner, the stove was gas which helped. Dinner was served by candlelight. Windsong makes its own water so there is a motor running alot in the third bungalow which can be heard in bathroom area. All in all a delightful place to relax an enjoy Eleuthera's spectacular pink beaches. All six of us who stayed at Windsong would recommend and consider returning on our next visit.

In addition to the main house, the two guest villas were fantastic. This place has a huge expanse of beach steps away from the back patio. This house is wonderful! The spaces are all comfortable and made for relaxing as a group. Having separate houses for family members was such a nice escape. The beach is gorgeous and you have it all to yourselves! We loved how close we were to Buccaneer and the farmers market. It was also completely isolated. This is such a great find!
