The open loft study/office is very special. It overlooks the two-story living room and has lots of light all day plus a nice view. It is set up as a perfect working environment. Not only is there free high-speed wireless service, but there is a desk with a 23-inch flat-screen monitor and a wireless HP color printer for your use, plus a classic mid-century suede-covered couch for collapsing while you are searching for a new idea or maybe just a burst of energy. The laundry area, with full-size washer and drier, is located between the study and the master bedroom.
The front deck is graced by a bistro table and chairs as well as an umbrella. Since it faces Southwest, the front deck is perfect for morning coffee or sunset cocktails while you are cooking dinner on our Weber gas BBQ. The leafy patio behind the house is quite private. It includes a sustainable teak table, with chairs and a bench to accommodate five people.
The townhouse features gas heat plus central air (almost unheard of in Portland), which is really not necessary 360 days a year, but is great to have on those other five days! The 700 SF tandem garage can easily accommodate your car (we leave our car parked there) and has tons of storage if you are here for a longer stay.
The townhouse is just two short blocks from the village center of Forest Heights, the most upscale, sustainable development in Portland. The village center has a very nice Starbucks--with a huge indoor/outdoor fireplace; a laundry; Pizzacato, which features gourmet pizzas, a very reasonable nail salon; a small neighborhood grocery store and a nice restaurant. A free shuttle to the Sunset transit center--with access to the MAX light rail, the West Side commuter train and buses-- leaves from the village every thirty minutes during the week.
Just three minutes away is a large neighborhood shopping center, with a very nice QBS grocery store, mailing service, liquor store and four restaurants. And, of course, the delights of NW 23rd/21st, the Pearl District, and downtown Portland are less than 10 minutes away. We are just a couple of minutes away from Portland's wild Forest Park with miles of hiking/biking trails as well as Washington Park with the Portland Zoo, the Japanese and Rose Gardens, and the Hoyt Arboreatum.
Great location, steps took us a little getting use to, but now were in shape
Property is beautiful with many upgrades, clean, quiet neighborhood, beautiful views of surrounding forested areas. All amenities a guest could want or need, no detail too small has been left out. Even found birthday candles for my sons’s 5th birthday, jumper cables in the garage that I ended up needing, and everything one could want in a kitchen. Wine glasses- different types for different wines, different place mats and napkins for different place settings, candles for ambiance, lovely artwork, lovely lighting and dimming switches in several rooms with soft lighting. Linens, towels, the bed was wonderful! The owner was responsive within mere minutes whenever I had a question about something. There are even extra batteries in case one of the remotes has a bad battery, and extra light bulbs in case one goes out. So much time and preparation goes into each guests’ stay, it is truly remarkable. Although the space is the middle unit of a tri-plex, please note that in my six week stay I heard almost nothing. And upon checking with a neighbor today when I was checking out, she said the same thing of us. Don’t be deterred that it isn’t a detached unit for rent. You will have as much peace and privacy as if it were. The property was spotless and as promised. The photos are accurate. This rental is only about 10 min away from Washington Park- zoo, children’s museum, forestry center. Also within 10 or so minutes is the Pittock Mansion, the Audobahn society, Japanese Gardens, and more. Prime location. Hope you choose to experience this place!
As soon as I walked into the condo I felt right at home. The kitchen was nicely equipped. Living room was cozy and the master bedroom was very comfortable. I loved all the walking trails and the location was perfect. Easy acess to downtown Portland. 20 minutes to Hillsboro. Grocery stores and shopping close by. Enjoyed my visit and hope to visit again soon!
Michelle was very welcoming, accommodating, and conveniently available by email throughout our stay. The location was absolutely perfect for taking walks, shopping for small items at a neighboring convenience store, or a short drive to downtown, the ball-field, or golf. The 2 bedroom layout was perfect for my family of 3 with very comfortable beds. As a houseguest I frequently referred to going “home” after touring sights in Oregon. I highly recommend this home.
Our stay at Terry & Michelle's townhouse was great. It was very tastefully decorated with modern, comfortable furniture, and beds. We felt very at home. The kitchen was well stocked, and we enjoyed preparing lots of our meals here. We had dinner guests and were pleased with the table settings too. When the weather was nice, we took walks on the trails that surround the area. It was early spring and it was beautiful to see the forest come alive.
This is a clean and very, very comfortable townhouse. The linens and beds were very nice and the bathrooms, kitchen and entire townhouse were very clean. It's a pet-friendly rental but you'd never know it as there was absolutely no pet smell in the building. Everything you'd want for your stay is in the place. It's close by to walking trails, a park, and a small towncenter with a market, a restaurant with delicious food, and a Starbucks. A 5 minute drive will take you to another shopping center with a great grocery store and other small stores as well as close to Washington Park and a beautiful local mansion. All of the AAA designated spots to see are within fifteen to thirty minutes. The owners were great to work with and were very helpful when I had questions about the rental procedure. Forest Heights is the ideal location in which to rent.
We were looking for a nice condo for a few weeks in a location convenient to our children in Lake Oswego as a summer getaway from our dessert home. We found Michelle's wonderful place in the beautiful Forest Heights area of NW Portland. It was a picturesque representation of the Northwest that we will gladly return to when the situation presents itself. The property is homey, well cared for and immaculately maintained. It is well located for most things in the Willamette Valley, although GPS is a must to efficiently negotiate your way around the metro area. Michelle is the ultimate host/landlord who was extremely accommodating to our needs in every way. She responds quickly to inquiries, requests or issues that may arise before and during the stay. Although we didn't have the opportunity to meet her since she lives outside the area, we feel like we came to know her well during our many communications. We would unequivocally recommend her home to anyone.
Lovely well-appointed townhome in convenient location. Home contained everything we needed to be conformable and happy during our stay. Close to everything, including a nice community coffee shop, store and restaurant; plus, nice trails and parks within walking distance!
My husband and I spent the month of July at this property. It far exceeded our expectations for comfort and prime location. The owner, Michelle, was a pleasure to work with. We needed her help only once, and she responded immediately. The townhouse reflects the owners’ care for their renters and their excellent taste in design and furnishings. The home was well-stocked with kitchen, bathroom, and entertainment items. The beds were very comfortable, and there was more than enough storage in the closets and dressers. July was one of the warmest on record, so we were especially grateful for the central air conditioning. Just like the listing says, the property is in a quiet, immaculate neighborhood with walking trails, a shopping area, and a bus stop just 3 minutes away. The bustling Pearl District and the city center are 10 minutes away. Our goal was to experience Portland, the ocean, Mt. Hood, and the countryside. This townhouse was the ideal launching pad for our adventures. We highly recommend it.
Renting a home for our family vacation to Portland was all new for us and we had a wonderful time. The townhouse was everything the pictures show and we all enjoyed immensely having it as our home base. We were delighted with the beautiful neighborhood and the townhouse itself was bright, clean, cheery and nicely furnished. We were total newbies at this but Michelle was great to work with and we all agreed we that we couldn't have picked a better place for our fist experience renting a vacation home. There was a moment of panic when we arrived in our full sized pickup and saw the size of the garage... but it fit! We had to fold the mirrors in and I stationed a spotter at on each side but by the end of the week we were old pros at docking our big boat. Any car or mid-sized SUV would fit just fine, but -just an FYI- any truck bigger than a Nissan Titan would probably not fit... and there's no parking outside. We would definitely recommend this as an outstanding place to stay in Portland.
