The loft is where my husband and I live when we are not in LA. Although it is still a work in progress, it has the most incredible views of the property. We now have a beautiful 5 burner gas stove-top (in a temporary table), a new oven, dishwasher, redwood cabinets, a new refrigerator and a large, curved kitchen sink in a new cabinet that David built for our curved kitchen wall, with panoramic views of our courtyard. We brought a huge redwoodplank back to Vermont from Northern California and David constructed the kitchen table, Check out the nut and bolt under it! The great room is wide open, yet cozy, with a wood stove (and plenty of dry wood), large tables and 360°view. While in Vermont, I paint in the loft and take advantage of the large tables. We recently put shades on the windows to give guests privacy if they want. We choose to let the light in, and watch the weather (something we miss in LA.) There is a large porch off of the great room, with a grill and small table. Enjoy dinner out on the porch, listening to the peepers (or watching fireflies).
We also added a new futon couch which opens into a queen bed. We have all the linens to accommodate guests, comfortably, in a beautiful setting. There is a small bathroom, with sink and toilet off the great room, near the futon.

The bedroom has a king size bed, which has views of the valley below, over the rows of poplars, stretching to the Green Mountains. David did all the woodwork, beautiful cherry floors and trim. He finished trimming in the bedroom porch last summer. It's a wonderful thing to have a screen door opening to a porch that overlooks Nature, in all directions. This is where you'll want to watch the sunset! The recently finished master bath has built in everything (David’s handiwork) including a Miele washer and dryer.

The little free standing building on the right side of the loft, had been my studio, but is now a cottage that we also rent out. The building directly across from the loft, in the courtyard, was David's woodshop and is now used as an office, and very loose gallery space (that's where I store many of my paintings). Let me know if you're ever interested in seeing more of my work (all units are full of it....) If I'm not around, I can arrange for someone to let you in.

If you are looking for a relaxing getaway, look no further. The views alone make this property well worth it, and the eclectic interiors (and incredible sculptures) make it such a unique stay. Highly recommend!

Perfect place for a weekend escape. Great location to kingdom trails. The home was cozy and welcoming - making it a comfortable landing after a long day on the trails. Comfortable bed with beautiful Mountain View’s of the sunset at your feet. No better way to end the day than unwinding by the wood burning stove (a soak in the claw foot tub would be a close second).

-pacious yet cozy, with views of the Northeast Kingdom mountains and valley for miles and miles. Make sure you enjoy the sunset and the expansive star-filled sky! Very comfortable bed and futon, plenty of linens, well-equipped kitchen, spacious bathroom/dressing room. Surprisingly very warm, with heated floors! Loved the wood burning stove, too. Views from each room! Beautiful and interesting art by the owners! The property itself was fun to explore. Very cool sculptures by the owner. Winter walks on trails through the woods. Communicating with the owners and property manager was easy and productive.

I loved everything about Meryl & David’s home!! My husband & I appreciated the custom woodwork throughout and original art on the walls. The loft is fully furnished with all the amenities of home! We really enjoyed sitting on the master bedroom porch with a glass of wine and watching the sun set. It was beautiful! Quiet. Serene. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us!
