Golden Grove On the River! Amazing home above the Smith River.

This home is amazing we were there for two days, very close to smth river and redwoods state park. I plan on staying there in the future. I highly recommend it !!

Very close to the redwoods with a lot of nice hiking trails. House is nice with plenty of room for our family. We were able to swim on the smith river which was beautiful.

The house was well stocked from utensils to coffee items to laundry detergent. Beautiful house with a fantastic location. Everything was perfect with the exception of one bedroom had an uncomfortable mattress. All in all it was the best place we stayed on our 17 day journey. Thank you so much. I would highly recommend staying here.

We had a family of 12 stay in this wonderful home. Everyone had plenty of space to spread out, and the kids loved the game room! Very close to The Grove of Titans trail and walking distance to Myrtle Creek. We loved our stay and would stay here again. I loved getting up early and watching the birds from the living room. Beautiful!

Beautiful place to stay

The view and surrounding area was unsurpassed! The location to visiting the Redwoods was perfect and the proximity to Crescent City and the ocean was amazing.

This is a 3 bedroom property. There is an open loft with a cot and a bonus room with a cot. The bonus room is through the primary bedroom, then bathroom. One of the queen beds needs a new mattress as it has a deep depression in the center which made sleeping difficult. The king mattress in the primary bedroom and other queen bed were comfortable. The living room furniture was comfortable but would be better with another adult seat. Kitchen cabinets were thoughtfully labeled and basic kitchen staples provided. The windows really need some blinds or curtains as we found ourselves looking for hats to shade our eyes from the afternoon sun. They also need a professional cleaning and the spider webs cleaned off. The loft needs curtains or blinds for light control and privacy from the street. Bathrooms were clean with lots of towels and extra blankets. The location is spectacular. We had a great time exploring the redwoods. Great parking for our 2 cars and big truck.

What a beautiful property that allows a retreat from the hustle and bustle of the world. We stayed here because the property is literally along a road that leads right into Jedidiah Smith Redwoods State Park. Location is excellent, the home is cozy and has all the things we needed and more. All of the beds were comfortable, kitchen was ample with all amenities and dishware you would need to cook-in vs eating out (bring your own food, of course), and the bathrooms were all clean with ample space, inside and out of the showers. There were only 5 of us that stayed at the home, but there could have easily been 10 of us and still felt spacious. Favorite thing? The towering trees right outside the front picture windows. Would we come back? YES. And we'd bring the three others who didn't get to come this time. NOTE: There is no cell coverage at the cabin, so make sure you get the front door code and save it t prior to arriving at the cabin, because you can't rely on cell service to look it up. There is wifi, so no worries there.

Great location for seeing The Redwoods. Fantastic set up for a family stay. Property management was excellent and quick to respond. Highly recommend a stay at Golden Grove.

Nice property. Not right on the river but you can kind of see it through the trees. Kind of a lot of road noise

Huge variety of different sleeping spaces. Comfortable and homey. Peaceful surroundings. Easy parking. Easy access considering remote location. You definitely feel like you’re smack in the middle of the redwoods. You’re not crammed in among a bunch of other rentals.

Beds were comfortable, house was clean and nicely stocked. Location was great to get to surrounding parks. Very close to Stout Grove. Manager was very receptive and easy to communicate with.

The property welcomed our pet and when our plans changed & we could not bring her, the Manager promptly refunded the pet fee. The kitchen was adequate, appliances above average, there were plenty of towels and hot water, and the home was clean.It was a 3 minute drive to the Redwoods visitor center and five more to the Redwoods Grove. Golden Grove is an excellent home to stay in to explore the redwoods.Disappointments were the porch light was burned out making it difficult to see the access codes in the dark forest night & through trial & error we figured out the lock had to be moved too, this was not in the instructions. Area rugs are curling becoming tripping hazards,our queen bed sunk in the middle making it awkward, the living room chais lounge was worn and hard to get off of the depression, and to use the TVs we had to use our personal access codes, so we had no movie or shows together.We rate Golden Grove a solid four stars. In order to get a 5 all beds, furniture, rugs and carpet need to be in safe & comfortable condition and we would like TV.

Nice stay.

Great location and host and house itself. Pet-friendly place. We had some rain and were so happy to be able to hang out in lovely surroundings, and then head out to the redwoods.

It was very nice. We wished we could have stayed longer.

Family trip with 11 of us there, everyone had a great time and didn’t feel crowded at all. Great house and location! Thanks for hosting us!

This was an awesome stay! Lovely home and responsive management. It would be handy for future visitors to know they should keep the door code somewhere besides their phones since none of us staying there had phone service to access the code which was only in on the website or emails that we couldn't access.

It was a wonderful house with everything you could need. It really felt like a home from home & I would definitely go back again. I’m just sorry that we weren’t staying longer this time.

A lil outdated, but a cozy place. Close to some site seeing adventures. No outside garbage receptacles. No door lock on the room off the suite/otherside of bathroom. Which made the awesome shower difficult to enjoy after kids went to bed. Id stay again.

Very comfy, great atmosphere. Kitchen supplies were good. Flat grill BBQ was awesome!

The bonus room next to master is not practical for adults as it warrants one person needs to wake up before the other, also the deck boards are a hazard. Other than that beautiful home and would definitely stay again.

This beautiful home was perfect space for our family of 7 adults. It came with everything we could have needed. It was also perfectly located for us to take advantage of many activities during our visit.

Clean, cozy and lovely home on the Smith River - the back porch is perfect for drinking a cup of tea while chatting. The location, view and peacefulness were unbeatable. Would definitely stay here again!

What an amazing place to stay! We couldn’t have picked a better place to stay while visiting the redwoods! Check in was effortless with great instructions. The house was amazing. Make sure you read about the room set up closely. One room is just a bed on the landing at the top of the stairs and another room is through the master bathroom. It worked for us as our kids stayed in that room, and I certainly wouldn’t take away from the rating over this! Lola was wonderful and quick to respond to a question I had, and when we forgot something when we left had it at the post office the next day for us to get shipped! We had coffee every morning on the porch with the fire and everything we needed to cook meals! I wish I had taken more pictures of the house, but pictures posted on listing are accurate!

Such a beautiful home a stones throw away from the famous Jedediah smith redwoods state park. Plenty of room for 3 couples plus nice kitchen supplies. The bedding was lovely and plenty of extra blankets and pillows. The views were spectacular and excellent communication getting in and out. 5 stars all around!!

This property worked beautifully for our family. It was within close proximity to another VRBO we were able to rent to accommodate everyone. The only issue we ran into was with the upstairs family room. It was obvious it had been closed up and smelled a little musty. Thankfully, we didn’t need to used it and were able to utilize all the other sleeping surfaces. The deck was amazing! Location perfect.

Stayed to fish the Smith with friends A total of seven of us really enjoyed the stay. Nice property, had everything we needed. Very clean and nice.

We had a fantastic trip to the Jedidiah Smith redwoods near Crescent City California. This home was comfortable, well appointed and exactly as advertised. Communications with the host were great. We did find that the Wi-Fi was not working, but we honestly didn’t even mention it during our stay because we were happy to disconnect. I feel certain that if I had mentioned it, they would have corrected the problem. It was a very easy drive or a comfortable walk from our cabin to numerous hiking trails. We wish we had had longer to visit. We would happily return to this property.

This was an awesome place to stay. The property was just what we were looking for. We also found out this property was just right down the road from the grove of the titians redwoods. Great hiking and stunning scenery. I would recommend this for those outdoors people.

So glad we found this spot. It was perfect for our elopement in Stout Grove, as it was just a 5 minute drive down the road. The house had everything we needed to cook dinner, play some games together and just relax. The house was clean and welcoming when we arrived. Although we had no issues and didn’t need to contact the host. I believe there would be no issues if we had to. Check in/out was effortless and I would definitely rent again if we’re ever in the area again.

We enjoyed our one night stay. We wished we had several more nights to spend there. The setting was beautiful. The amenities on the house were fantastic! Whoever designed this place spent time focusing on above par.
