Very cozy warm place with all the amenities

Julie was very communicative--sending very clear instructions and responded very quickly to questions I had. It was an amazing location for the access to nature and Pictured Rocks, which is exactly what we were looking for. It is in the woods, so bugs are definitely around the house at night, but not an issue once we were prepared for it. The space was fully stocked for all of our needs with a full kitchen, two bedrooms, and a nice open layout between the dining and living room to hang out. It also stayed cool enough to not really need the a/c, which was great!

The house was perfect. It had everything we needed! It was a quiet and peaceful setting. The owners put in automatic lighting in the parking area, so you could enter the house at night without worrying about safety.

Peaceful, Clean and Pet-Friendly Stay near Munising! We had a fantastic 5-night stay at this cozy little house in the woods, just 15 minutes from downtown Munising. The location was perfect- quiet, peaceful and surrounded by nature, yet still close to everything we wanted to do. The home was exceptionally clean and came with everything we needed- from kitchen essentials to a washer and dryer, which made our stay super convenient. The WiFi was strong and reliable the entire time, which was a nice bonus. The fenced-in porch was a huge plus for our dog, and we really appreciated how pet-friendly the space was. The host was wonderful- very communicative and thoughtful, providing anything we might have forgotten. We truly loved everything about our stay. We are already talking about coming back. Highly recommend!

Perfect place for us and our two dogs - comfortable, private and the location was great for the things we wanted to do. We only stayed two nights but the home set up so well could easily stay a week and have everything you needed. Great communication with the host!

Property was very clean. We had our dog and we were made to feel comfortable having our dog. Dog outdoor supplies were made available.

The house is close to Munising with easy drives to all the Munising sights. It was a perfect place to stay for our weekend getaway. Very clean, with ample supplies. Beds were very comfortable and the shower had plenty of water and hot water.

We spent 2 nights. The cottage was clean and comfortable, served our purpose very nicely. We spent our 1 full day on the UP kayaking the Painted Rocks shore. It was amazing. Thank you.

My sisters and I brought our parents up for a birthday celebration and the place was perfect. Everything we needed. Secluded and off the beaten path but not far from things to do. Very peaceful.

Perfect little house for a lake superior get-away!

This was a lovely getaway with a “middle of the woods” feel. Julie was so kind and accommodating to our request to add on an extra day. The check in process was easy and Julie’s home is nearby, so there is a strong sense of safety. She has thought of everything so the house felt well stocked and ready for guests. We would gladly stay here again!

Communication with Julie was great from day one of booking. She reached out to see how we wanted the rooms set up and made sure everything was exactly how we wanted it when we arrived. She even sent directions on how to get there and told us to save them in case of spotty cell service (and this definitely came in handy!!). The house was clean and in a great remote location but also a great spot as a central point for all of the waterfall chasing we did. This is where Julie really shined and came in like a superhero. Our son’s cellphone fell out of his pocket off of a cliff at one of the waterfalls that we hiked. We knew the general area it was in but could not locate it. It was getting late so we headed back assuming we’d never see the phone again. The next morning we asked Julie if she had a metal detector- she did not but she tracked one down for us in less than an hour. She went back to the falls with us and we were able to locate the phone within minutes. Julie is the definition of super host!! We would absolutely stay here again and recommend to anyone traveling the area. For reference- we went to Munising, Marquette, Manistique, and Grand Marais during our stay.

Very cozy. A bit out of town (great for dogs) but not too far to all the excursions. Nice, quiet area.

Perfect quiet cabin for our weekend getaway!

The house is immaculately clean and very cozy with cute decor matching the surroundings. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen has everything you need, even measuring cups and baking sheets. There is a gas grill outside and a nice deck with the view of the woods. Julie is a wonderful host, responded to my messages immediately. We needed some Epsom salt for our dog’s wound bath the night we got to the house. I asked Julie where the local place to get it would be, and she showed up at our door five min later with the salt. The owners live in the house next to the property but you still get the privacy needed. I would really recommend the place for anyone wanting to vacation in the UP.

Home is secluded and surrounded by trees yet easy to get to.

The place was a perfect little stay for our family vacation. It is a short drive from Munising and pictured rocks. Great hot water, A/C and heat worked great. Julie was super accommodating and answered back very quickly when I messaged her. Also, we forgot a few items and she quickly reached out to me so I was able to get them before leaving town!

We stayed with Julie to visit Pictured Rocks, about 15 minutes drive. Location was private and quiet, appreciated letting our fur baby stay, beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked, communication with hosted was excellent!

House had everything needed for our stay. Nice touches of items available e,g, lighter, and bug spray. House not near town but if you were like us and out sightseeing all day that was fine. Property not fancy but well stocked with kitchenware and linens for your stay.

Julie, the owner, was accommodating and communicative. The property is well kept and maintained, has everything you need for a home away from home, and it is located in the perfect being close to many of the falls and to the Pictured Rocks boat tours. Will definitely book again with her if we make the trip again.

What a great little place, tidy and has everything you need. Love the open space between entry, LR and kitchen. Clean comfortable beds, remote setting and perfect for our needs.

Lovely place to stay, great hosts!! House is very comfortable, clean, and a private wooded location. Never used the TV as we were out and about most of the time, internet is great 99% of the time

We had a wonderful 4 night/5 day stay. The description and photos are accurate. Everything was ready for us. The cabin is very clean, the bed is comfy and we had everything we needed. It is a beautiful location in the woods but only 10 minutes from downtown. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. Julie and her husband live close to the property. They are friendly and helpful if you need them during your stay.

Cheaper than nearby hotels. Buckhorn Lodge 3 minutes away is a good place eat. Host were very accomodating

Julie was a great host. The house was comfortable and clean. My husband and I had a great time hiking nearby and enjoying the peace and quiet at the house. The name of the lodge is the whip-poor-will which was clever considering you will hear one song at night. Great experience overall!
