Friendship House, luxurious laid back beach side retreat

All around amazing, the place, the staff, and the view! A special week at Friendship house!! Communication before and during our trip was wonderful, help organizing trips, meals, Dwayne was fantastic, and zero complaints about anything. Truly special place!

Friendship House is magical and as wonderful as advertised. The house is beautifully decorated, the location could not be anymore perfect with gorgeous views and a beach just at the bottom of the hill. All the bedrooms but one (which is attached to the main room, perfect for a nursery) have wonderful views. The Staff is terrific - attentive, welcoming and responsive. Patrick cooked the most wonderful dinner - best meal on the island! In short, I highly recommend Friendship house and would stay there again.

We spent Thanksgiving week enjoying everything Friendship House and Bequia has to offer. The home, because it was truly that, was perfect for our 2 families - 4 adults and 6 children (ages 10-17). We can't say enough about the home - think top-notch hotel bedrooms with an amazing living space - both indoor and out with fantastic views. Dwight was the perfect host and coordinated our travel to the house seamlessly. He always went above and beyond to ensure that we enjoyed everything the island has to offer. We opted to have the house stocked with a few essentials and Dwight out did himself with the freshest fruit from the island. I have never seen children inhale so many fresh mangoes! In addition, his expertise of amazing snorkeling locations (like swimming in an aquarium) was a favorite and the children are still talking about the tubing following the fishing excursion! No review would be complete without raving about Patrick - the best chef the island has to offer. We had he and his team cook our arrival dinner, which was delicious! We also asked him to cook our Thanksgiving dinner and we let him pick the menu - the freshest fish and lobster ensured we didn't miss traditional turkey in the least. We have visited numerous islands in the Caribbean and Bequia is amongst our favorites. A couple of details that might be helpful for those traveling to Bequia and staying at Friendship House: *No need to bring snorkeling equipment - the is house is fully stocked with various sizes of fins and masks; *Bring cash or be prepared to make trips to town to use the ATM (provides Eastern Caribbean dollars) - taxis require cash as does the fruit lady (amazing - ask Dwight); *The grocery store does take credit card. *Max's Pizza is fantastic! *Walk down the beach at least once for drinks and/or dinner at the Bequia Beach Hotel - some of the friendliest staff you will find anywhere. They will also allow you to bring you own bottle of wine for a corkage fee. *Weather permitting, make use of the boat and Dwight's knowledge of the island - Moon Hole for snorkeling was amazing! We had an amazing week at Friendship House and can't thank the entire staff for making sure our vacation was one of the most relaxing we have had in a long time!

What can we say except AMAZING and PERFECT! The property is exactly as depicted on VRBO and the in-person experience exceeds all expectations! Dwight, Linda and Jason go above and beyond to ensure your stay is stress free and all the details are taken care of; in addition to their kindness and welcoming nature. Dwight is and was very prompt responding to inquiries prior and during our stay. He arranged everything not only before our arrival but during our stay, provisioned the house with items we requested; which made our stay beyond memorable! We did not have to worry about a thing! Chef Patricks skills spoil you with amazing food plus his warm and friendly personality were an added bonus! This is a must when you stay at Friendship House. We traveled with 9 adults and the house was beyond perfect where you didn’t feel like you were stepping over each other as there are numerous spots to have alone time when you wanted. The taxis service is the best and definitely the easiest way to get around the island, no need to rent a car. Never waited more than 10 minutes for a taxi. Make sure to carry cash, EC or US, no cards. Dwight was awesome and arranged two alternate sailings, with Captain African, after our two planned sailings were canceled due to mechanical issues. The Captain was fun, kind, and took care of us all. We had a great time talking with him and hearing of his travels. The beaches are beautiful, the scenery spectacular, the crystal blue waters are stunning, the locals could not have been more friendly, we always felt safe walking around the island, and we enjoyed shopping at the local spots to support the local economy. I don’t usually say that I would revisit the same place again. Life is short and the world is large so I like to travel to different locations to experience different cultures. However; Bequia is a place I would go back to and I would stay at Friendship House! To the owners of Friendship House-bravo!! You have a beautiful home!! The house, the people, the island...Friendship house has it all! Incredible spot, the house is spotless and the views are breathtaking. Can’t wait to come back!

The entire holiday was fantastic. The service from the Friendship House team was brilliant throughout our stay and really made for one of the best holidays we've ever had as a family. The house is exquisite and every want or need is taken care of. We'll very much be looking forward to a return visit!
