Family-Friendly Lake Waubesa Home: Boat + Swim!

The home and location are great. Home looks exactly as seen in listing, including all of the wonderful decor, and had everything we needed for a multi-generational family vacation. We really liked the town of McFarland and the restaurants recommended by the hosts.

We stayed with our family for a week. The house was fantastic!!! And Kym was so helpful in getting everything set up for us. We had a 9 month old and Kym had everything set up for us upon arrival. We had everything we needed for a wonderful week!!

Great lake access and close to Madison.

We had friends from Sweden in town for a wedding. Six adults and 2 children under 2. It was perfect for them! Large kitchen wirh plenty of space. We had a fantastic time grilling, cooking and having smores by the fire pit. The decor was amazing and so cute with a ton of antiques. We spent quality time with friends and family and saw amazing sunsets! Will definitely stay again!

Property was excellent for my family. Located very close to major highways it was easy to move about greater Madison. Well kept and clean. View of lake was great. Kitchen was well stocked.

I was in Madison for my Grandson’s state bball tournament. All the kids stopped by and relaxed. It was the best place ever!

This is such a phenomenal house. It is beautiful and wonderfully decorated, it is incredibly comfortable, and perfectly met the needs of our family. Kym was phenomenal, left a pack and play in the home for our toddler and let us check in 2 hours early to give my toddler a place to nap. Remarkably kind people and a wonderful stay, couldn’t recommend it more!

Former cabin conversion. Modern kitchen and baths. Clean. Lovely fireplace in winter. Unfamiliar with keyless entry but figured it out.

Met our daughter and son-in-law here for Christmas/New Years. Had a wonderful, last week of playing games, doing puzzles, reading, etc. The lake was beautiful, the fire cozy, and the house was perfect for our needs. Thanks!

Loved the location and the property. It's an older home so some drafts and creaking floors but loved the ambience, the gas fireplace, updated kitchen and laundry is always nice. It was great for gathering of family, playing games and watching football. The house is stocked with everything you need and more. gathering of games

Grandparents, parents, teen, college and young adult family members enjoyed the retro summer camp vibe in this historic house. The glassed in porch with fireplace was perfect for watching the lake and birds. Kitchen fully stocked for cooking our Thanksgiving meal. All bedrooms are on 2nd floor, with just one bathroom one each floor of the house...felt a little less private than we're used to, but the space overall felt so cozy and as if it was our own treasured family getaway...made up for any inconvenience from shared bathrooms or creaky floors. Fun to walk out the door right to lake shore, or a few blocks away to local taverns/pubs for drinks/meal. Thank you for a lovely home away from home for the holiday week!

We were there at the start of fall and the gas fireplaces were awesome both for the ambiance and warmth on cooler days. The view from the sunroom was wonderful. We spent a lot of time enjoying the view from there. It had a nice mix of modern amenities (updated kitchen and baths) and rustic charm. The neighborhood was very cute. We walked our dog quite a bit and enjoyed views of the lake side homes and the lake from all around the house. Plus there are two parks both within walking distance of the house that are very nice.

This house was exactly like it was described. The location was convenient to the entire Madison Area. The two gas fireplaces were used on several cool mornings. The only downside for older adults is that the bedrooms are only accessible by a steep staircase. We enjoyed our stay!

We enjoyed our stay, and similar to other reviews, we found the house to be very clean. We liked all the retro furnishings. And we appreciated the extent it was stocked (way above expectations). Nice neighborhood within walking distance of a restaurant and a boardwalk walking / biking trail. The only challenge was I made 2 attempts to ask a question about the property before renting, but apparently the Property Manager (Evolve) did not forward the question to the owner (as I found her very responsive once I had her contact info).

The house was perfectly located on a lake and only a 15 minute drive to Madison. It was spacious and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes and everything we needed to cook family meals. We also used the kayaks that are provided and had a great time on the lake. The owner, Kym, was very responsive and accommodating. She brought over an iron we requested and allowed us to check in early and check out late. We forgot an electric toothbrush after leaving and she mailed it back to us. We had a lovely time and I warmly recommend this house.

We found the house to be very clean. We were pleasantly surprised with all of the extra furnished ( not normally provided) items. It made things so easy for us. The games were fun and for all ages. The upstairs floors are a little squeaky - haha- but everything else was great.The yard was a little disappointing. We were expecting twice the space looking at the pictures. We also thought there was a bench on the dock for fishing. The dock is very nice though and if you have a regular boat it would be great for storing. The views are beautiful and the 3 Season porch is fabulous!!The owners were very nice and also helpful. We would definitely recommend this house!
