The historic Jefferson House, nestled in a vital and charming Victorian District neighborhood, offers elegant and comfortable accommodations -- 4 bedrooms/4.5 baths -- for up to 8 people. Now with relaxed cancellation/payment policies and enhanced cleaning, the home's central location puts you within a 2 block walk to Forsyth Park, area restaurants, shops and bars. Heading north just a few blocks, the Landmark District begins.

The Jefferson House has been lovingly renovated and retains its historic details and layout. Decorated with simple elegance, this bright and spacious house is furnished with plush, comfortable couches and chairs. Sturdy occasional tables ensure you have a place to set your sweet tea or a glass of champagne, while recessed lights can set the mood for evening. Turn on the many period-appropriate lamps and curl up with one of the books on Savannah or regional history from the library shelves. Or slide up to the breakfast bar in the spacious, bright kitchen with French doors for coffee or lunch and conversation.

Jefferson House retains its triple-parlor first floor, which is perfect for groups large and small. These three areas are open to one another, yet each has its own focal point. Furniture is grouped for intimacy without creating barriers to the rest of the space. Socialize like residents did in the days of yore, with some interacting in the front parlor, and others playing games in the second. Today the games might be replaced with a movie on the flatscreen TV, but one thing is certain: each guest can have his or her own space and be able to socialize with those in one of the other parlor areas. The house is perfect for large families, or maybe two families, without stepping on one another's toes. It is popular with wedding groups, girls' reunions, family gatherings and marathon runners.

Upstairs the 4 bedrooms all have full baths en suite. One bedroom has its own porch. Each suite is simply decorated for comfort and function. The bedrooms are spacious, with plenty of closet space and a chair for reading or relaxing. (One bedroom features a desk and chair; and there is another desk downstairs for everyone's use.) Fresh linens, quality mattresses and extra bedding and pillows help ensure a good night's sleep. Three bedrooms have queen beds, and one has two twins -- great for kids!

Between the formal dining room and the well-equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar, there is no shortage of places to eat and enjoy each other's company. Casual or formal: the Jefferson House fits the bill.

In addition to being 2 blocks from Forsyth Park, Jefferson House is a short walk to the Landmark District. Here you'll wander through squares lined with amazingly grand historic homes and shaded with sprawling live oaks, draped with Spanish moss. Continue on to superb shopping on lively Broughton Street and the city's many downtown museums, ending at Savannah's famous River Street and the river, where huge container ships come from all over the world.

Classic Victorian with spacious living areas, high ceilings, lots of natural light with a thoroughly updated and modern kitchen stocked with all the pots, pans and utensils you could possibly need. The full bath in each of the bedrooms was a great convenience. Our host, Ann, was gracious and extremely accommodating, lots of wonderful suggestions for eating and activities. The property is exactly as described and pictured in the listing. Will definitely book again if we visit Savannah again.

Unfortunately, we found several pots and pans and dishes that were not clean, which we washed thoroughly before using. Also, the last 24 hours in the house we began seeing cockroaches. There was mold in some of the showers and in the washing machine, and one toilet was in need of repair. Fortunately one of our group was experienced in this type of issue. One shower head had just a trickle of water coming out. Probably the most aggravating thing for us was the poor internet connection. All that said, we thought the house itself was beautifully restored, and its location was perfect, walking distance to restaurants and a grocery store, and also a reasonable walk to the historic center.

The humidity in Savannah made our bathtubs stink. But once we contacted the host, we found out where the extra towels were and that was wonderful. We are a group of women who love to cook. A few of the kitchen tools were not working. Once we let our Host know, she said she would take care of it. If no one had let her know these things. The house is absolutely beautiful. There were six sisters and we felt very cozy in this amazing house. So fun to just walk right over to Forsyth Park. Thank you Ann for taking good care of us.

This beautiful home was perfect for the eight of us (4 couples) to attend several events over 3 days at Hotel Bardo and Forsyth Park…an easy 5 minute walk from the house. It is about a 25 minute (1 mile) walk from downtown, but the enjoyable walk is through beautiful historic neighborhoods. The house has PLENTY of space with well furnished living areas and a large kitchen. The four bedrooms, each with a private bathroom are adequately sized with comfortable beds.If I get back to this great City I won’t hesitate to rent this home again!

The house was very clean and functional. An older home always has a few characteristics that need attention. We all enjoyed the comfort of the house. The neighborhood is very walkable and lovely.

We are a group of 5 60 women cousins and the house was perfect with 4 bedrooms, 5 beds and 4 master baths! The front sitting room was a gathering place for us but we spent most of our time around the great dining room table for both meals and game playing (we brought our own, but they had plenty)! The kitchen is large enough so we weren't banging into each other. The off street parking is nice. Easy directions for check in and out. and the owner is responsive to questions.About a ten minute walk to FREE trolley into Savannah. Very helpful if you are touring the town! There are a bunch of tour books and maps in the house.

Myself and six friends and family stayed here for 3 nights. The house was fantastic and had all of the amenities we needed. The only issue we had was the tub in the bathroom above the kitchen was slow to drain. We did open the drain as far as it would go, but the tub would still fill up with water. One of the things we found very useful was the location. It was close to Forsyth Park (within easy walking distance) and also close to a luggage storage location.

The kitchen was not well equipped. The cookware was unacceptable. It was rusty and scraped up. In fact I purchased a frying pan in order to cook breakfast. This unit could use a good coffee maker. The furniture is old and rickety. Off street parking can only accommodate one vehicle. The four bedrooms with four bathrooms is great for an old guys trip.

The house had nice size rooms for us to gather together using the dining table or the living room. We enjoyed playing cards plus there are provided puzzles and games. Great kitchen setup with bar stools. The bedrooms were nice size with plenty of room to spread out. Great location with easy walk to Forsyth Park - go on Saturday morning to the Farmers Market - great food and crafts.
