I liked how unique it was and how decorated it was and I especially love the bathroom with the open shower. The biggest problem I had was the bed was very uncomfortable and all the signs everywhere

Cute, cozy spot with a heavenly fluffy bed and great location. Quiet neighborhood with a 5 minute drive into the thick of the city. Host was accommodating and sweet, we would absolutely stay here again!

loved the artsy, eclectic decorating. we loved riding the in house elevator, the beautiful view, the fireplace, the large private deck, the proximity to a cafe and downtown and walks.

This non-standard lodging is many great things: interesting; charming; fun; comfortable; beautiful. There is literally nothing normal about this property; but that is not a negative! Rather its uniqueness is its best quality! For example, just getting there in the first place is a fun adventure. Although this lodging is in the heart of Portland, just a stone's throw from the shops and restaurants below, it is high up in the amongst the posh homes in the hills above. You get up to it from the valley below by a two mile adventure climbing narrow, windy, steep roads--very much like driving to homes in Bel Air, or Beverly Hills in LA. Once there, you find the lodging literally built INTO the side of the hill you just climbed. Your rooms are below the street, two floors down the hillside from the top, first floor--literally built on and in the hillside! Again, this is a non-standard, adventurous place. Finally, I can't end this without acknowledging the owner, host of this unique location. Vicki was super welcoming, friendly and helpful during our stay. She has obviously been doing this for a long time, and she does it well. You are in good hands here.

The morning view of Mt St Helens took my breath away. What a great stay from the food recommendation for a near by cafe to the stunning deck view of the cityscape. Everything was labeled and explained for super easy use of all things in the apt. Thanks again for a great stay!

Vicki was very welcoming and showed us to the ameneities as soon as we arrived. The condo itself was very cozy and offered a lot of space and privacy for a good bargain. My partner and I loved it!!

Vicki was so sweet and the place was beautiful. Only downside was someone or something hit the window of my rental car and I ended up having to pay for it so the street parking situation isnt perfect but all in all the place was beautiful

We really enjoyed this place and would recommend it to anyone who doesn’t mind being a little off the beaten path. So pretty, and Vicki is wonderful.

My sisters and I met here for a two night. Stay to enjoy some live music downtown. This property location is excellent for both neighborhood safety, quiet and beauty. We had the sensation of being in a treehouse! Just a lovely lovely place to be! And our host, Vicki, was great with communication and created a very welcoming vibe. We will definitely stay here again in the future!

Very comfortable! Accommodations were abundant. Very very close to downtown. My friends and I loved the decor and nature surroundings. The patio was very relaxing! It all felt luxurious. Lots of notes left around the home to assist with offerings and seamless functionality of furnishings. Clean! Vicki was communicative. Would love to book again in the future! The mirror in the bathroom and rained glass were so beautiful. You can tell Vicki is definitely an artist.

This place is wonderful! It is eclectic and in a great location! Close to almost everything we did! The view from the deck is stunning and available to guests! It is very hilly and the walk we took around the neighborhood was amazing! We also walked five minutes to a delicious neighborhood Italian restaurant! Also Vicki’s artwork is fun to admire around the unit! I would definitely recommend staying here!

This is the 4th year that we have stayed here. The property is fabulous and Vicki the owner is so friendly and welcoming. She also is a wealth of information on the Portland area. This is our go to spot!!

Amazing place, wish we could live here. The neighborhood is great for access everywhere by car, the only thing that could have made it even better would have been a few more walkable places in the neighborhood, but can hardly blame Vicki for that! It's a very well stocked and thoughtfully cared for place. Very clean, check in and parking were incredibly easy. A great stay!

A lovely place with a great city view and peaceful location. Close drive to anything you'd like to do downtown Portland. Vicki, the host, is so helpful and welcoming. Of note, there are no doors between the two sleeping areas so if you have someone who snores, it might not be the best. I missed in the listing that it does not have a/c and we were there during 100 degree weather so it was in the upper 70's low 80's inside. Vicki did supply fans so that helped. The space has lots of windows that open but it just didn't cool down much at night to take advantage of that. We would definitely stay again, just not during a heat wave )

The property was absolutely charming with so much character, and the host was friendly and welcoming. The neighborhood was beautiful and safe, and it was very conveniently located for Washington Park. 10/10 would recommend, and we plan to come again.

It was a very enjoyable get away for my wife and I. Owner was very nice and full of information about surrounding area. The place was very tidy and well kept. We would definitely come back for another stay in the future.

This place was absolutely perfect. The check in process was super easy. There is a full kitchen, however we chose to go out for pizza, but did enjoy some wine on the gorgeous deck with amazing views. I would most certainly stay here again, and hopefully we will meet Vicki on our next adventure. I'm sold on Portland...

Great stay!

This suite was the perfect size for my spouse and I for our overnight trip coming from Eugene OR. The location was very quiet and just up the hill from a charming Italian restaurant where we dined the night we stayed. The location has easy street parking (a bonus) and access to an amazing deck (via an elevator). Staying only one night (for a concert the next day) we didn't take advantage of the kitchen or dining area, but they are ample and well-stocked. We will definitely return to Vicki's place - great location close to downtown but in a very nice peaceful neighborhood.

The apartment is beautiful and the hostess is friendly and gracious. The deck was the best part. My sons, their partners, my friend and I had a beautiful evening visiting on the deck. The view is spectacular. We had everything we needed for a nice visit. Vicki had a great recommendation for a nearby restaurant for take out food.

Enjoyed touring the Oregon coastal villages, the Rose and Japanese Gardens and the Columbia River Gorge. The views of Mount Hood and the Portland Downtown Area are fantastic.

Such a cool place! In a really cute and quiet part of Portland, but so close to downtown and the Oregon Zoo. The views were great from the shared deck, and was such a fun spot. Will try to stay again whenever we are in Portland. Host was very helpful throughout the process.

I found this spot when looking for a place for my wife and I to stay on our wedding night, and I chose it because it wasn't your typical ultra-modern, sterile feeling luxury nonsense. This place looked like it had character, and was super unique. I had no idea how right I was!It is simply beautiful, and FULL of life. You can tell this space was painstakingly created as a labor of love by the host (who we met in the morning and was an absolute delight), and has been loved by everyone who stays in it. From all the unique art throughout, to the whiteboard filled with message from previous guests, I've never stayed anywhere quite like this.I will *absolutely* be recommending this spot to friends who come into town from now on!

This immaculate property is in a quiet and safe location. The view from the deck and rooms is spectacular. You feel like you're in a treehouse when you're on the deck. Books, games, and unique art pieces are throughout the rental. The elevator adds a fun touch as well. We met Vicki briefly and hope to visit again when we can stay longer.

Vicki’s home is a lovely place to stay in Portland. It is located in a gorgeous, quiet neighborhood that feels like a peaceful respite from the city. The home is well appointed with books, entertainment, towels, blankets, toiletries etc. & the view from the deck is picture perfect!

My daughter and I stayed at Vicki’s beautiful house. We were able to take advantage of the deck and enjoyed the view while sharing some wine. The accommodations were perfect: clean, spacious for us, nicely decorated and comfortable. Restaurants were nearby. We definitely would like to return. Thanks Vicki!

We stayed 2 nights in this charmingly decorated historic home in the Portland Heights neighborhood. Was very comfortable, even the fold out couch. Had an opportunity to chat with Vicky; such a welcoming host. What sets this place apart is the view from the deck upstairs! Wow! On a clear day you get a perfect view of Mt Hood! At night, it’s mesmerizing. For the price … spectacular!!!

Very happy with the property. The place was well kept and in good order fantastic host and an enjoyable stay. I do feel that the beds need new linens and the listing should indicate that the second bedroom is also the living room with a fold out futon. We found the linens necessary to make up the bed but they were old and dingy. Overall very happy with our stay peaceful nice neighborhood fantastic views interesting and fun place to stay.

The feel of this place is very fun and calming. It was such a great experience with great directions on the place. It was very clean with plenty of towels and blankets. The look of the place is amazing. I love the decor. I would definitely stay here again!

This suite overlooking NW Portland lived up to its advertising! Beautifully furnished and decorated in an eclectic historic style and conveniently located close to shopping and dining. We particularly loved the incredible rain shower in the stunning tiled bathroom, the cozy bed with gas fireplace and all the antique glass maximizing the light, especially in the morning. Our hostess was a friendly delight and encouraged us to enjoy the view from the deck and she wasn’t wrong… despite the cold, the heaters and the sunset view of Mt St Helens and Mt Adams made for an unforgettable evening.

This property was so unique and special, the high quality materials used in the suite made a huge difference, it was not a hodge podge of Ikea products (nothing against, Ikea, I love Ikea, I own Ikea lol), but the craftsmanship and love shows. Vicki is also so pleasant and lovely to chat with! Might I recommend to others that if you take care of a rental the way you would your own home, it's a wonderful cycle that will give back to you in your next rental. Aka, wash the dishes well, to make it clean for the next renter, and so on and so forth. Tips: The sleeper sofa is also high quality, super firm if anyone prefers that. The fireplace can sometimes be too warm, so I recommend cracking a window ever so slightly so you can sleep better. The signs placed everywhere is because you can't really give the whole run down of the specifics of your home without doing a whole tour, and guests won't read a whole book, so Vicki, naturally, placed the signs where it pertains so you don't need to refer to a book. Everyone's home has some tips and tricks right? Would come back in a heartbeat, great views and lovely neighborhood.

Very comfy and great view

Perched on a steep slope, the rooms have a great view through the woods to the east. Easy street parking, nice fireplace, excellent shower, and the separate deck area would be outstanding in better weather.

Beautiful location and really nice host

It was alright the place wasn’t super clean and there was roughly about twenty laminated pieces of paper with various instructions or rules that must be followed through the space. Including two in the bathroom. Made it feel very non welcoming.

We loved our stay, a very nice neighborhood with awesome views, the deck experience was memorable. The vintage home felt nice. Clean bathrooms and plenty of supplies. Only thing we missed was a stow but the electricity pan compensated for it.

I loved the uniqueness of the building, as well as all of the artistic touches. Clear instructions and helpful information througout the space. Quiet and comfortable
