ABOUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD:
Hawthorne is known for its quirky, artsy character. You’ll find colorful murals, indie boutiques, and vintage shops lining the boulevard. The neighborhood is packed with coffeehouses, brewpubs, and restaurants ranging from casual to destination-worthy. Think farm-to-table brunch spots, craft cocktail bars, vegan eateries, and late-night food carts. There’s truly something for everyone, and much of it is hyper-local. Hawthorne Boulevard is dotted with independent theaters, music venues, and bars. Classic spots like the Bagdad Theater offer movies in a restored historic setting, while nearby lounges host live music and trivia nights. One of the biggest appeals is how walkable it is. Guests can step outside and be surrounded by shops, parks, and dining within minutes. Bike lanes and easy transit make it simple to explore more of Portland without needing a car.

Don’t miss our favorite coffee shop Common Grounds (1 block to the east on Hawthorne) or a quick walk to New Seasons Gourmet Grocery (just 4 blocks west on Hawthorne)

The residential streets around Hawthorne are full of bungalows, craftsman homes, and gardens to admire. Great area for walking as there are sidewalks. It feels cozy and welcoming while still buzzing with energy just a few blocks away.

Belmont Ave is just an 8 block walk north of this home.

This wonderful host has created a truly topnotch vacation home. It is furnished with comfy beds, stunning wood pieces of furniture, some new and others impeccable antiques but all in pristine condition. The kitchen is new and bathrooms too, and everywhere there are cool unique extras that make this feel so homey. We had such a great few days there, and the host was accessible and we chatted about the comfy beds and quilts. We loved it! Thank you, see you another time!
