Fruita, Colorado
This property has a long history in the Grand Valley! The farm was used as a day camp for 32 years. Since 1965 children have been, and still are experiencing Moon Farm through their field trips. A pumpkin patch was added in 2011. The farm house was converted into the ultimate vacation rental in 2013.
The large farm house has four bedrooms and two baths - all newly renovated for your stay. It will sleep 12 in beds.
Combine that with VRBO #954542 (2 bedroom,1 bath) on the same property, the large camping area (outdoor bathrooms and showers open seasonally from April 1-October 31) and you have a property that can accommodate your group of 25+. Imagine staying in one place, having a kitchen to cook in, an outdoor fire pit to enjoy in the evening and a beautiful property with grass and shade to enjoy.
Not only are you renting the vacation rental, but you have the opportunity for special events at our Moon Farm property. Guests have been the host to small weddings, family reunions, large birthday parties and more. There is an extra charge to rent the Moon Farm property for these events.
You cannot get any closer to the 18 Road mountain bike trails, ATV area and shooting range. It will take you less than 8 minutes to get to the trailhead via car - and less than 5 minutes to get to downtown Fruita.
If you are coming with children, there are endless things to keep them busy during the day. The farm is still operating and they can visit the animals, explore the many cultural buildings on the property or museum collections. Visit us in October when we have our pumpkin patch, themed corn maze and haunted straw maze up and running. It is quite the experience! Whenever you come, this is where you want to stay!

Great base camp for riding! Host was very responsive and toured us around the very large, beautiful, and curious property. I’ll be telling stories about Moon Farm for quite some time!
We came out for a Westwater rafting trip, and this was a great place to stay! Close enough to the put in, great size, and plenty of space for multiple vehicles and trailer with rafts. Clean, quiet, lots of space! Would definitely stay here again!
We went to grand junction to the drag strip. Needed a place for 11 people to stay. The home has so much character. Very clean and hosts were extremely nice and welcoming. Although we didnt stay much due to our schedule it was a welcoming home with old charm.
This was an amazing stay. Great, great property. Have everything you have to experience comfortable, enjoyable and even educational vacation. Location is great, house is more than comfortable, with necessary amenities. Had fire pits and other things...we had 4 kids age 3-10, they loved it and our teenager did not complain what never happened before. Owners are amazing, attentive, and responsive to a minute. Great experience and we all hope to return there soon.
The grand boys loved the farm. Lot for them to do. The owners were very informative and friendly.
Our 4th visit to the Moon Farm and it still exceeds expectations.
This is our third year back to Moon Farm with our Men’s group out of the Roaring Fork Valley. Awesome spot for our home base and accessablilty to 18 Road trails for some biking/shooting for our spring getaway.
The house was spacious...beds were comfy...yard and fire pit were inviting..we enjoyed ourselves immensely. Bonus being able to have a full kitchen and washer and dryer to use!
Myself and five friends stayed here and enjoyed it. The fire pit in the front yard was especially nice. The kitchen is small but has what is needed.
Good location with easy access to major shopping. Rooms a bit smaller than they look online but still comfy. No internet access during our stay.
Great place, enjoyed our weekend!
Fantastic property for the whole group. Endless entertainment and great living spaces
Great place. Note: this is an old farm house; it's not a modern home. This is our second time staying there. Very clean both times, especially for an ancient place with nooks an crannies. It worked well for 3 families, with 2 kids each. That's a lot of people! The property is wonderful--big lawn, fire rings, two grills, locking shed for bikes, plenty of materials for bike trails and attractions, etc. Moon Farm is a hoot. The kitchen is tiny but has all the stuff you need. The family room is huge, a sprawling addition to the historic home I'd guess. The bedrooms are well laid out. The home supports a non-profit and the owners are nearby. It's also conveniently located for getting to mountain bike trails on 18mi. If you know what you're getting into, you'll love it; if you want a sleek condo with an espresso maker, maybe look downtown.
We hosted a board + staff retreat at the Moon Farm this fall, and it was AMAZING! Truly the best choice for our group. Hosts were communicative and helpful both during booking and on-site. The house is large and spotless. We had a group of 20+ people both sleeping inside and out in camper vans and planned most meals to be outdoors - lucky we did because the kitchen is VERY small, keep that in mind when planning meals! Having extra coolers outdoors was helpful. We loved this place and will almost certainly be back!
We did our mountain bike vacation in Fruita and Moab again this year. This was a perfect location for our group. We had multiple vehicles and toy's because everyone drove and brought their own gear. There was plenty of parking and a shed to store the gear we were not using that day. The rooms were set up perfect for our group because some were sharing rooms. The location is a short drive from all the trail systems near Fruita and only a short drive to Fruita. It is an older farm house but was perfect for us. Not sure how the AC works but the house was always comfortable. Plenty of seating for group of 8. Nice fire pit and grill for our cookouts. With plenty of outside seating.
Great House!
This place was great. Little dated but clean with a great location, and goats :-)
Very unique location and history with wonderful play houses all around the property. We especially liked visiting with the variety of animals and appreciated the shed to store it bikes and the other bike friendly accommodations.
Our family enjoyed relaxing in an enormous living room, exploring the crazy incredible property, sitting around the fire pit at night, and sharing stories of the day’s adventures.
Second time we have stayed here for a family getaway. Such a fun place to stay for the whole family
We love this place, close to biking and fun activities for the kids.
Great time at Moon Farm. Jay D and Suzanne took up where Dave and Jennae left off!
The house was built in 1935 and had a great charm to it. We’d stay there again.
Beautiful property and lots to explore. Love the history. Will recommend it to friends!
The moon farm is a centralized property that fits either mountain bikers or dirt bikers alike. As advertised! Great space for all. Owners are extremely helpful
