Stayed Oct 3, 2025The captain’s house is on a beautiful street full of stately old homes and just a 10 minute walk across the bridge to Damariscotta. The house is roomy and comfortable and has a gorgeous front porch where you can sit and watch the people passing by and look out over the river. We love it there. This is our fourth stay.

Stayed Jul 10, 2025We loved everything about this house! One of the bedrooms maybe would be more appropriate for a kid as there weren’t outlets and internet access wasn’t great. But this didn’t dim our enjoyment whatsoever. We had a great time lounging and relaxing on the porch and felt super close to everything. The town was beautiful and so many fun options. Highly recommend!

Stayed Oct 7, 2023We enjoyed our stay at the Captain’s House. It’s quaint and quirky. It was clean and comfortable. We were able to easily walk into Damariscotta for the pumpkin festival and other local sights. There’s a fantastic playground near the local Y and Great Salt Bay community school that’s worth the visit if you are traveling with kids. When we were in the house, it was cozy to hang out near the kitchen and living room combo
