Stayed Jun 18, 2025Great house and property for a family looking to enjoy the Finger Lakes and surrounding area. Plenty of space and nice layout. Would recommend for a large family hoping to take advantage of the proximity to the water!

Stayed Jul 6, 2024House is clean, comfortable and well-stocked; great views of the lake and easy access to the water. Watkins Glen nearby with a great state park for hiking and stores/shopping for anything you might need. Right on the wine trail (which we didn't do, but sad we didn't) with tastings, breweries, food, live music. The mgmt company was very responsive to our minor questions. Kids are already asking to go back! P.S. if you stay at The English, please tell Sully we said hello! ;-)

Stayed Sep 12, 2022The lakehouse was a nice hidden gem. Like others posted the driveway is very steep and gravel. The GPS directions weren't as bad as the postings made it seem to be. The managers should just update the posting with a couple of sentences for the directions to alleviate any anxiety. I would've given 5 star ratings however before we arrived we were informed the water well needed replaced and they provided a tank of water for us. They informed us the water tasted bad for drinking but safe for cooking and washing. Well.........our first night there the house had a smell of sulfer to it and the water smell almost made me puke just washing dishes. There was no way we could cook with that water. Then on top of that the hot water tank wasn't working properly so we didn't have hot water for morning showers. I called the management office and they sent someone in a couple of hours. The filer was changed so it didn't smell quite as bad after that. We still used store bought water for cooking. Other then the water and sulfer smell.........the house was great. It did leave a little sour taste about staying there though

Stayed Oct 6, 2020Beautiful property - quiet and secluded on Lake Seneca, but quite close to all the hiking and shopping attractions we were interested in. Home was tastefully decorated, well stocked kitchen, and comfy beds. Lots of room! Would love to stay here if in the area again.

Stayed Jun 8, 2020The English lake house was exactly as advertised. Updated home with three floors each having at least one private bedroom and full bath. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking, decks sport gorgeous views of the lake, fire pit for evening s’mores, kayaks and plenty of tubes for floating! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay (especially close proximity to nearby vineyards and breweries) and look forward to returning in the future.

Stayed Nov 27, 2019We had a wonderful stay at this property. All descriptions of listing are accurate, and possibly we missed it but there was also an additional twin bed in the downstairs suite. It worked out extremely well for our two families plus grandparents. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a big thanksgiving dinner! Lovely property.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969English Lake house is a beautiful property. Along with the most serene view of the lake, it has a fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds, and a great layout. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The main deck has ample seating to enjoy the morning sunrises and evening sunsets with the entire group. We couldn't have been more pleased. The one thing you should know, is the road to the house is loose gravel and extremely steep. If using a limo service for your trip they may not make it to the house to pick you up. Our Limo bus made it but he had to back down the last part to get to the driveway. SUVs shouldn't have a problem. Cars will. Also, beware of the way the GPS takes you. From the main road above you should turn directly on to Birge Road none of the other side streets around it, they are worst.
