Douglas Cottage - Great location walking distance to both Douglas beach and Downtown!

A central place for family to get together for the holiday.

This cottage was exactly as photographed and described and was the perfect place to stay for a girls weekend getaway in Saugatuck! Check in and out instructions were described in detail and made it a breeze to get in and out without issue.

This house is perfect! Great location! My husband and I are walkers. We stayed for a week and walked to Saugatuck most days, a 22 minute easy walk. Saugatuck is an adorable little town on the Kalamazoo river with great restaurants and shopping and walkways with benches to watch the excellent boat traffic. Douglass was also a quick walk, maybe 3 minutes with restaurants and shops. Douglas beach was an easy 16 minute walk. We walked there in the evenings to watch the amazing sunset on Lake Michigan. We walked from Douglas beach to Oval beach one morning, a great walk! We enjoyed the back porch, having dinner there from Mambo Pizza right next door 4 nights. The town of Holland is just a 15 minute drive, a beautiful little town with fabulous restaurants shopping. This house would have easily accommodated another couple w children, or 3 couples.

Great location and host was very accessible. Immediately able to access the house upon arrival. Kitchen, bathroom and laundry had everything we needed.

Easy to get it to various beaches!

This house is in such a great location in Douglas and the shortest drive to downtown Saugatuck. Walk to the Root Beer Barrel, Coffee shop, pizza, ice cream, and more. Douglas beach is walkable but we drove to the entrance, lucking out with the very few parking spots available there. The house is charming and plenty of room for a family or a few friends. Older floors are very squeaky and uneven. Queen bedroom has a very small attached bathroom, without much room for makeup, toiletries, etc. Overall I would recommend based on location alone. The screened in porch is a lively space to hang, as well.

Excellent stay! Very comfortable and relaxing with all the amenities one would need.

Kids loved the location and access to bike friendly communities. Very comfortable couch, nice screened in back porch. Didn’t have a great selection of cooking utensils, bought a wine key in town and left it for future renters. Could use a few more family games. Books in the bunk room were appreciated! Overall would stay again.

We met friends here for a long weekend stay and loved the location of this property. Douglas was quieter than Saugatuck and we could walk to a great deli, coffee shops, grocery, restaurants, and Douglas Beach. We enjoyed a night in with the grill and fire pit, too. The house was very clean and comfortable for our party of 4. I would stay here again!

Our stay at Douglas Cottage was the perfect location for our Memorial Day weekend getaway! The house was clean, beautifully decorated and had a great location for outings to downtown areas of Douglas and Saugatuck and Oval Beach. It was well-furnished with everything we needed. We enjoyed the firepit and patio each evening and the frequent sightings of deer, turkeys and bluejays. The whole family would highly recommend!

We loved the stay, and how cozy everything was. Perfect. and it was so convenient to everything. All was wonderful, just wanted to let the owners know that the kitchen canister lights were out, and that if more larger towels could be provided, that would be great. Other than that, we couldn't have raved more about our stay. In the evening, we were able to watch a herd of deer pass through the yard and graze across the street. We truly enjoyed ourselves. Gecko Getaway was not our original booking, but due to a power outage in the area, we had to move from our original location. Jaqua Realtors, the rental agency was outstanding in helping us relocate and this unit turned out to be awesome! The hot tub was a great bonus. Entry and check out were easy. Cabin was clean and spacious.and lots of character. The beds were comfortable enough and we enjoyed movies up in the cozy loft.

Great property with lots of space to for us to get cozy and read by the fire. Good location as well for when we wanted to go grab coffee, food, outdoors, and shopping!

This is the second year in a row we’ve rented this house for the Douglas Halloween Parade. It’s in a perfect location, and we love the house itself. We plan to reserve it again for next year!

The cottage is very cozy and nicely decorated. The location is great. Close to beach & shopping. The only issues we had were the coffee maker did not work properly and toilet roll holder in master en suite fell off the wall when attempting to place a roll of toilet paper. We had a great time. Lovely cottage with everything our girls getaway needed. Walking distance to farmhouse deli, pizza, outside coffee and the root beer barrel. Short drive to downtown Saugatuck. Beds were comfortable and living spaces were spacious, cute and clean! Highly recommend!

Extremely clean, comfortable, prime location and perfect for our friend getaway! Owners were super responsive, the place had so many outdoor areas to enjoy (firepit area, screened in back porch, etc.) Landscaping was excellent and there is so much to enjoy in this area! (Beach, art galleries, shops, so much more!) Thank you!

We stayed here for a family wedding and my only regret is that we didn’t have more time to enjoy the property. Very cute cottage with comfortable beds and lots of places to lounge.

Good house! The floors are strange and uneven which wasn't great for toddlers, but overall convenient location, clean and a little fenced in outdoor area was lovely!

Loved the location! Walk to coffee and restaurants, short drive to beaches & Saugatuck. Bunk beds were a hit with the kids. Open layout was great, especially enjoyed the screened-in sun room off the Master. We will be back next year!

Perfect location for a girl’s weekend. Easy access to surrounding communities while maintaining a quite country vibe.
