Dog-friendly house w/ private hot tub, gas fireplace, game room, & much more

House is perfect for big groups. Lots of room for gathering as a group or spending time alone if you prefer. Would stay here again

House was fantastic. Well equipped and the many beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the pool table, poker table and cornhole. We were disappointed that the fireplace was not working but other than that is was great!

Did not stay at the property. Before unpacking we always check for bedbugs and by the second bed found an active infestation. We immediately packed up our things and notified VRBO, who offered another (cheaper) property that did not suit our requirements so we opted for a full refund.Upon going back and reading past reviews, it appears this property had bedbugs reported on at least two other occasions in the recent past. Apparently the property management have not addressed this MAJOR issue yet. DO NOT RECOMMEND anyone stay here until this is resolved!

We were out and about everyday and the house was perfect for us. Especially the corn hole. If you are staying in the house more than going out you might have more complaints but we loved it.

The location was great being that close to Helen, but not in the middle of the traffic

We stayed at the Alpine Retreat in Helen, GA for a weekend getaway with friends. The location was great and the house overall was clean, cozy, and well-stocked with essentials. We appreciated the spacious layout and the comfort of the shared areas.However, there were two major issues that unfortunately impacted our experience. First, the dishwasher wasn’t draining properly, leaving standing water inside that began to smell badly by the second day. This made it hard to keep up with dishes for a group of our size.More concerning, one of the basement-level guest rooms appeared to have bedbugs. A friend staying in that room was bitten several times and is now dealing with skin irritation and rashes. This was obviously very distressing and unacceptable for any rental property.While the house had potential and we did enjoy parts of our stay, we hope the owners address these serious issues promptly so future guests can have a better experience.

When arriving, the grill propane tank was empty. I refilled it and discovered that the ignition on the grill was not working. I had to use a lighter to ignite the grill. The grill was also very small, so cooking for a large family required some patience. In addition, the coffee maker was not working (smaller pot in the coffee maker than the actual machine. This prevented the pot from pushing on the lever that allows the coffee to dispurse). I have contacted the host on day one regarding being refunded for filling the propane tank but have gotten no response. It was only 28 dollars to refill, but it is the principle of the issue that matters. Before the host was answering me, and once I asked for a refund for the refill on the propane, the host left me on silence. It has been 3 days now without a response and I so I have decided to write this review. Like I said, if you are deciding to grill out, you may want to avoid this place because the grill is small and the ignition does not operate.

Very accommodating for our family trip to Helen. We ran into some issues, but the property manager was helpful in trying to remedy them.

The property was gorgeous, very roomy. Helen is one of my family’s favorite places and this was very convenient to all the attractions. A very peaceful and tranquil setting.

Stayed for a family weekend away. Everyone enjoyed the place. Downtown Helen was beautiful. Saw 3 bears and us Florida people saw a little snow.

House was a great layout for our extended family especially for teens to have the downstairs. Internet was pretty spotty. Saw a few roaches. Generous in allowing up to four dogs. Close to downtown but steep roads to house. Pool is hard to find. If you decide to bring fewer pets be sure to tell them BEFORE you check out if you want to be reimbursed. We didn’t know that so they won’t reimburse. Maybe bring your own pillows.

We had a nice family vacation. Nice accommodations, large house and had everything we needed. Thank you!

ALL the room for Our Large family! The Decks were incredibly roomy and spacious! Loved the Home!

PROS: Nice house design, spacious back porch, nicely furnished, comfortable beds. CONS: Water Heater kept tripping, Oven didn't work, Internet router had a loose wire and would keep going out, very few towels for number of people and days rented, had to purchase our own toilet paper and paper towels for number of days and people renting (not a deal breaker on that one), very difficult to throw garbage in the outside cans due to the puddling in the driveway and the way the bin is designed to open and have to pull the cans out...probably for bear protection, but really gross.

There was plenty of space for all 12 of us. Everyone felt the beds were comfortable. The porches, hottub, and grill were nice. We would stay here again.

We had a great, brief stay here in Helen! The house is very comfortable and well maintained. It was very clean. Would stay again for sure! We didn’t receive the docusign document for gate access. We had to reach out to Vacasa to get that after arrival. You cannot get gate passes /access without completing that. Other than that hiccup, our stay was fantastic!

My siblings and their families met at Alpine Retreat for a family vacation. We had such a good time. The house was perfect for this. Plenty of room for everyone both together and for time apart. We hope to come back again! You won't be sorry choosing Alpine Retreat.

The pictures did not do this home justice. It was gorgeous. Helen is a beautiful area and there is always something fun to do.

Big house, we had 12 people for a family reunion. Lots of room, nice decks for sitting outside and reminiscing. Very nice area, pretty subdivision. Close to town and Cleveland GA. (Nearest Walmart! LOL) Only big negatives are weak WIFI signal (hard to watch TV) and seems water heater may not be large enough (we ran out of hot water during showers.) Overall, we give it a 9 out of 10.

Great property, lots of room!
