Charming towns, beautiful beaches, and renowned golf courses are yours to explore at this four-bedroom home on the east side of Martha's Vineyard.

This three-story home is scenically situated between Manuel F. Correllus State Forest to the west and the Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary to the east. It's a wonderful location whether you're headed to town or the beach, with downtown Edgartown, Oak Bluffs, and Vineyard Haven all within four miles.

Spend your days at Inkwell Beach, Joseph Sylvia State Beach, or Lighthouse Beach, and be greeted back at home by a lovely, tree-lined yard. There's an outdoor shower to rinse off any lingering salt or sand, as well as a back deck with a gas grill and cushioned seating where you can relax all afternoon.

Inside, find a breezy living space with exposed beams, incredible natural light, and an open, lofty layout. Prepare appetizers amid cheerful blue cabinetry in the kitchen, sit down for dinner at the dining room table, and pile on the sectional sofa to watch movies in the evenings. The loft landing provides a game table that is ideal for slow work on a puzzle or a board game, while a second family room in the basement gives the kids a great space to watch TV and play Xbox One.

This property was not cared for. The grass was overgrown. There weren’t any AC units in the windows when we arrived. When we put the units in a fuse was blown and couldn’t be repaired we were moved to a new location. If renting properties they really should be cleaned of rubbish around the outside. If everything was tidy and work it would have been a good house to rent.

Pictures definitely make it appear nicer than it is. Check in process was not organized at all. Children’s bed in downstairs bedroom had dirty fitted sheet. Outdoor shower didn’t work. Outdoor furniture tattered and moldy. Broken grill on the ground. Abandoned car in yard makes it a bad look. Refrigerator light was broken which I noticed in a previous review so surprising to see it wasn’t fixed after that. For the price of the home nightly it wasn’t worth it in current condition. Seems reviews haven’t changed anything.

Booked through VRBO, property was unfortunately managed by VACASA. I would not recommend this property to anyone. We booked last minute, but that shouldn’t excuse the condition we found the house in. When we arrived, there was garbage scattered around the driveway and near the front door—clearly the result of animals getting into the overfilled trash cans that had been left out. Inside, we were immediately greeted by an ant infestation. This wasn’t just a few ants—there were enough that we didn’t feel safe using any of the provided dishware. We ended up buying paper plates and bowls just to avoid using the kitchen supplies. The window AC units were installed, but poorly, creating both safety and insulation concerns. Outside, there was an old vehicle on the property that hasn’t been inspected since 2007. Of the two grills, one was completely unusable, and the other was full of tree debris and even a bird’s nest. There was also a cooler filled with trash and stagnant water. It was obvious we were the first guests of the season, and the property had not been properly prepared for occupancy.

The outdoor shower, cable, and internet did not function during our stay, despite daily calls to Vacasa, and significant time waiting on hold. Apparently, the point person on Martha's Vineyard did not return Vacasa's calls, and did not respond to our requests to address these issues. We left the house one night early. The house was fully stocked and spacious and in a quiet neighborhood. The beds were comfortable. There's a nice deck with newer outdoor furniture. We were grateful for the space and the chance to bring our dog with us on vacation. However, the house is also neglected and needs a handyman to fix a list of issues. Once these issues are addressed, it will be a nicer experience. Here are some examples: An electrical outlet upstairs is stripped bare and will shock anyone who touches it. The refrigerator has no light, the lamps are not connected to light switches (it's easy to fumble around in the dark looking for a lamp), thorny rose bushes need to be trimmed back from the front entrance, the bathroom ceiling fan is inoperable, the toilet paper holder downstairs is broken, the downstairs bathroom faucet leaks sometimes, the fence has holes in it (our dog found one...), and there are old, rusty bikes, etc. around the property. Once these issues are addressed, it might feel like the house is a bit more welcoming.

We enjoyed our stay here and loved having the big open kitchen to the living room to all hang out in!

It was nice and cozy. The backyard was great for our dog to run around and you could see the stars on a clear night…but it needs some love. There is a lot of junk around… a car in the driveway with a bunch of stuff in it, the cabinets need to be fixed, there was dog pee from the people who previously stayed. I would also recommend you bring your own coffee pot if you plan on drinking coffee at the house.. the one that is there is a old gross one which was a little disappointing.

I loved nothing about 17 Dodgers Hole - Don’t waste your money & VACASA was not quick to respond to complaints
