Delightful 4 bedroom detached cottage in the centre of Porlock Village

Beautifully refurbished cottage in the centre of a delightful village. After a long and tiring journey the cottage was warm and welcoming, the beds were clean and extremely comfortable and the hot water for showers was plentiful. No deal breakers, however, it would have been a “nice to have and welcome” bonus to have had a small refreshment pack to save us having to go shopping as soon as we arrived; although we knew in advance there wouldn’t be one, so had come prepared. Communication with Andy was excellent, no problems with access, although parking directly outside of the property is not possible, again we were told in advance, but unloading and getting my elderly mother in and out of the car proved problematic some of the times, but we were able to drop her off then go and park a couple of minutes walk away in a residential area, with no restrictions.It would have been nice to have a chair in the bedrooms and hooks on bathroom doors to hang clothes up when using the bathrooms. Wardrobe spaces were substantial and coat hangers were plentiful, although made of wire, and not what I’d expect in a home where money had obviously been spent. However, no deal breakers and certainly no need for us to contact Andy, the host, and we would certainly look to return to Wychwood; it’s a beautiful property for a family or mixed group looking for somewhere with a home from home feel.

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful cottage which has been refurbished to a high standard. It is well equipped for a family or group to stay. Easy walking distance to a number of pubs and shops. Excellent communication made our whole visit successful.

We had a lovely 3 night stay. The property is much larger inside with 4 comfortable bed rooms. Everything is to a high standard.

Very comfortable house with everything we needed for a family week with infant. The house was clean, warm and comfortable. We never used the fireplace however all the neccessary wood available. Lots of local places to eat - great location. We would be happy to visit again. Many thanks,

Wychwood is a fantastic cottage and a great place to explore Exmoor from, although there is plenty on offer within a stones throw of the cottage if you prefer to keep it local! The cottage is well equipped and finished to a very high standard, with plenty of space and four really good sized bedrooms. The cottage was exactly as advertised, spotless throughout, and the communication with Andy was superb, which ensured we had a really smooth check in/check out process and settled in easily. The only minor issue (and it really is a very minor one!) for us was the small freezer space, but Andy had made us fully aware of this in advance so we could plan our food shop accordingly. All in all I would highly recommend Wychwood and we would certainly love to stay there again. Cheers Andy!
