Welcome to our `Cozy, Modern 2br/1ba Shem Creek Getaway, HOT TUB!`, located in a quiet residential neighborhood in one of the most convenient locations in Charleston, only a mile to the lively Shem Creek waterfront area, and less than a 10 minute drive to both Downtown Charleston and Sullivan`s Island beaches! Highlights of the home include an open living area, furnished outdoor front and back patios, a hot tub, and ample off-street parking. So come stay awhile!

At the top of must-see places around Charleston is a quaint area known as Shem Creek. Don’t be fooled by the word creek — Shem Creek is actually a broad, inviting estuary where active shrimpers, fun-loving boaters, and seafood-seeking locals congregate. This charming section of Mount Pleasant draws outdoor enthusiasts to its flanking boardwalks for a mecca of dining and outdoor activity. A favorite place with the locals to wind down.

While there are numerous restaurants/bars within walking distance of the home, including the Shem Creek waterfront area a mile away, the Charleston area is best explored with your own vehicle as public transportation is not a convenient option.

For when you want to leave your vehicle parked:

Rideshare apps: Uber/Lyft both operate in the area so a ride can be requested through the app.

Charleston Water Taxi: Provides transportation via boat between Mount Pleasant and Downtown Charleston.

- Patriots Point Maritime Center: Use if visiting the USS Yorktown or any of the sites there.

HOME

THIS IS AN OLDER HOME BUILT IN THE 1950`S THAT STILL HAS TRAITS ASSOCIATED WITH AN OLDER HOME. While there have been some small cosmetic renovations it still has old bones and guests may notice areas of uneven flooring, cracks in ceilings, cracks in paint, etc. If comparing prices in Charleston, we feel it is an affordable alternative to hotels and other homes in the area but anyone expecting luxury accommodations in a brand new house should look elsewhere.

CANCELLATIONS

Guests will receive a 95% refund up to 30 days before check-in. After that, no reservations are given.

DAMAGE DEPOSIT

A $500 damage deposit will be pulled from the card used for booking prior to the departure date. This deposit will be fully refundable to the card within 5-10 business days after departure if there are no claims made for damages.

HOUSE MANUAL

The house manual with all of the details needed for your stay will be sent out at 9am THE MORNING OF YOUR ARRIVAL directly in the message thread of the account used for booking.

Please do not ask for it earlier, or ask for it to be sent elsewhere.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

Your safety and comfort are our priority. In the unlikely event of a MANDATORY EVACUATION ORDER FOR CHARLESTON COUNTY during your stay, rest assured that both the Owner/Host and the Property Management Company WILL REFUND 100% OF YOUR PAYMENTS for the dates of evacuation. Once refunded, neither party will have further liability regarding your reservation.

Please note that ONLY MANDATORY EVACUATIONS WILL QUALIFY FOR REFUNDS. No other travel disruptions due to weather, whether in South Carolina or other states, are eligible. For protection, consider travel insurance, especially in high-risk months like hurricane season. Airbnb`s insurance or other options are recommended and we urge you to look into them prior to confirming your reservation.

INSECTS

As Charleston is situated in a warm, coastal climate it is possible to see insects inside or outside of the home at times. These include palmetto bugs, sand gnats, mosquitoes, ants, etc. Those who reside in the Lowcountry just accept this as part of living here but it may be unsettling for those from other areas. The home is treated regularly for pest control but this will not entirely eliminate insects from getting inside at times. Please do your best to not keep doors and windows open and not leave food or drinks out in the home as this will attract insects. FINDING AN INSECT IS NOT CAUSE FOR A REFUND.

HOT TUB

Use the hot tub at your own risk and follow all of the posted hot tub rules. It is professionally cleaned every two weeks

    This was a wonderful home to stay in last minute, right in the heart of Shem Creek. AC units worked great to keep the home cool during a heatwave! The hot tub was very clean, and was even cleaned and serviced during our stay with zero disruption. I appreciate the hosts offering early check-in as well. All amenities needed were provided and we enjoyed having the bright, cozy space to relax while visiting friends. Would definitely recommend!

    Home is wonderful and cozy! Exactly as described. Mostly quiet BUT theee are two home being built right beside this rental currently and they started work quite early every morning of our stay. One morning at 6:15am! Obviously not the home owners problem but be prepared for early noises and noises throughout the day as they work on two homes right beside rental. Very lovely stay other than that. Home comes with started for your time there as well as an array of spices and a few staples. Would stay at again and highly recommend.
