Cozy Home near White Mountains along Northern Vermont/New Hampshire border

Rustic and clean 100yo home was great. Big spaces, full kitchen, comfortable beds, good water pressure, tasty apples on the tree in the yard, huge fire pit and awesome screened front porch. Only 2 bathrooms but it's enough to be able to stay in such a cool house.

The house is located on a quiet side road, no through traffic so very peaceful., The property is very large with ample space. The extensive garden allows sitting in sun or shade, as you wish, at any time of day. It is surrounded by huge, mature mixed growth trees. A mother deer and her two young ones came to clear up the fallen apples in the morning and evening. Beautiful to watch them. House was very clean with comfortable furniture and modern appliances. It is a short walk to shops and restaurants in Wells River (Vermont side) or across a bridge over the river in Woodsville (New Hampshire side). There are many trails within a short distance, along the river or up in the hills. The White Mountains to the East offer many hiking possibilities in the State Parks. The small towns in the vicinity such as St. Johnsbury are well worth a visit. See Bierstadt’s immense “Dome of the Yosemite” in the Atheneum there.Allison responded promptly to all communications. The check in instructions and welcome info were clear and helpful. We really enjoyed the stay. (If you like burgers, we recommend Sarkeys’s in Wells River. Hand made and cooked to order, probably the best we have eaten! They have many other food choices, and a nice saloon.)

House is clean and quiet, there is tons to do in the area (check out the nearby by Big Eddy swimming hole under the swift water covered bridge!). Everything about the stay was simple, no-fuss, and easy.

We had a great stay at this property. So many thoughtful details to make our stay memorable. The kitchen was very well equipped—it even included a crockpot. The house was in a great central location and we found many things to keep us busy. Communication with Allison was great. She quickly answered any question that we had. We would definitely return! Very clean felt like home nicely decorated inside and out. Good location within 2 hours of most things we wanted to see. Good restaurants in the area. Would stay there again.
