Carpinteria, California
This charming and stylish, refurbished 1940's beach cottage is a 5 min walk from Carpinteria State Beach or the heart and historic area of this quintessential surf town.
The cottage features tasteful furnishings and decor that reflects the beach community and heritage of Carpinteria. Our favorite is sipping coffee on the front porch under the magnolia tree while looking at the rose colored mountains of Califiornia. The home has a working fireplace, strong wifi, expansive backyard with BBQ and playground in addition to all the comforts of home. The main bedroom has a queen bed and the second has a full. A lovely sunroom provides space and sun for working during your stay. The kitchen includes a dishwasher, microwave, fridge with ice maker and full oven. You will also find a washer and dryer for your convenience in the garage. You'll find book and board games for your enjoyment.
Tucked in a residential neighborhood you'll be away from the more busy streets in town. The surrounding neighborhood is very peaceful and the neighbors are friendly. There are several antique shops, historic downtown, and wonderful restaurants within walking distance, as well as nature trails both to the north and south along the coast.
Montecito, Summerland, Ventura and Santa Barbara are all within a ten minute drive providing a wide range of additional shopping, dining and antiquing options.

Cute place walking distance to the beach. A few things to note- there was not a door on the third bedroom, which was problematic for us with kids- so the kids ended up sharing. Also, the property was a bit dingy when we arrived- nothing serious- but could do with a deep cleaning!
We had a lovely stay! The lodging was comfortable, cute, and clean, and the proprietors were helpful and communicative. Walking distance to the beach and amenities in town.
We stayed at Christopher's house in Carpinteria for the month of June. We had such a wonderful time there. My daughter loves boogie boarding and we could walk to the beach. The beach there is shallow and safe for kids with perfect small waves. It is paradise! There are bigger waves nearby for those that like that. We loved everything about the house and the neighborhood. I could not recommend it more highly. We loved going to the farmers' market on Thursdays. The farmers' market stand on Carpinteria Avenue is also a treasure and is open most days of the week. We enjoyed the local restaurants and health food store and Rori's Ice Cream shop and went to Santa Barbara a few times which is only a short drive away.
Overall a great experience with a very attentive host! Excellent location and a very nice home.
