Couples Hideaway Penthouse, Best Beach View Possible! Within Wildlife Refuge

Excellent, very attentive hosts. The location is amazing. Many attractions nearby. We hope to return in the future.

Beautiful, well-maintained property with fantastic views. Exactly as advertised

We were very thrilled with our stay at the Couple Hideaway. When we arrived we were me by Cathy's husband who warmly greeted us and showed us the property and reviewed the map they made for getting around for activities and shopping. The house was perfect. It is very quiet and the view is magnificent. We went to beaches and they were quiet and the water was warm. All were close by. We also did the river rafting with Gabrielle below the house. It's a good idea to get there early so you get the full hour trip. Early trips are better for wildlife.We took some long trips so be aware that this area from Liberia to Nosara and past has a practice ofrandom acts of paving. I suggest anyone considering this area to rent a 4WD. Note that an SUV is not a 4WS so make sure it's a 4WD. We rented a Nissan XTrail hybrid. Perfect size as small is better. Shopping and eating was easy. We mostly ate out but the home has a fully equipped kitchen. Pacific Azul had great local fish plates. Try to pick up some 1820 coffee. Really tasty. We are in our early 70,s and had no trouble with the home, steps or interior. It's a perfect open area. Carl and Cathy were a pleasure and they are well connnected in the area. We look forward to returning.

Cathy and Carl are wonderful hosts and the property is gorgeous. Apartment was comfortable. Kitchen items were a bit of a hodgepodge and not great quality, but manageable. The pool area is lovely, but note that it is accessed down the driveway from the unit. Roads were a bit tricky to navigate but the privacy and security were great.

Cathy and Carl could not have been nicer, welcoming us upon arrival. the apartment ois clean and lovely and has everything you might need. the view is wonderful. It is far enough away and the roads are rough so you might need a car or ATV.The pool is divine.

Wonderful hosts, fantastic accommodations!

Cathy was a great host and the apartment was perfect! She is right it has the “best view”. Quiet but close to beach and hiking in the reserve. The pool was very refreshing and we enjoyed using the outdoor kitchen/grill.

Cathy and Carl were amazing. First thing they did was walk us through the property and then showed us the highlights around town on a map they had prepared for us. It gave us a great start to the week. The property is well kept and beautiful. Very relaxing week for us. We would love to return in future.

We had an absolutely fabulous stay here! Beautiful location and the accommodations were well kept and private. It also came stocked with essentials such as basic cooking and cleaning supplies. It could be tricky to find your way there if you don’t know the area well, but the hosts are very knowledgeable and helpful! They provided extensive directions as well as their personal information for assistance as needed, along with some great recommendations for activities and places to explore. Thank you for everything and we hope to come back soon!! :)

We had the absolute best time ! You can not beat the view from this beautiful property. The owners are so incredibly kind and helpful. We are so grateful for the opportunity to stay here and would love to stay here any time we get to visit Nosara .

The apartment was excellent in a great quiet location, with an amazing balcony with ocean and river views. A/C when needed. The hosts were extremely helpful and accommodating. The property overall was fantastic, with security gate, private pool, and quick access to a trail to the nearby beaches. The Nosara area was a perfect blend of quieter sections and areas with more services and activities. Highly recommended!

Our stay could not have been better. Cathy and Carl are wonderful hosts. Available to answer questions, offer recommendations and helpful tips. The ‘Penthouse’ as we referred to it was as advertised; comfortable and easy to stay in. The ocean view was incredible as well as the pool area. Highly recommend this rental.

My partner and I had an amazing time staying here! Cathy and Carl were super helpful and sweet. You can’t beat the view and the pool area is stunning. Short walk to the beach and restaurants. We would definitely return for another stay.

Nice place: Very clean, pictures are a good representation of the apartment. A flight of stairs up (had help getting luggage up). Nice short walk down to the beach.The internet stops working between 4-6pm and doesn't return until morning. While this seems silly to care about - if you are there working (especially if you are working on the down-low) - you could have issues. A hot spot with T-mobile also didn't work. Seems everyone is streaming movies after dinner, if you need movies - bring a hard drive and your laptop.Hosts were very friendly and responsive to our needs (internet, healthcare, door locks).

The apartment was spacious, and well appointed. Our host, Cathy, was very friendly and accommodating. And if you are an animal lover, there were horses and goats nearby. My only caveat is that the roads are rough (primarily dirt), so plan accordingly!

We stayed in this Beautiful suite January 2025.if you like hiking, walking on beaches and everything else outdoors this is the place for you. A beautiful pool and outdoor kitchen where we relaxed at the end of each day. There is a beautiful trail you can walk and get to miles and miles of amazing beaches right outside your door.

Cathy and Carl are welcoming hosts with a magnificent property. Cathy’s communication prior to check in was clear, timely and helpful. The apartment is above their home and meticulously maintained. It’s well-appointed with extra towels, blankets, cooking oils, etc. — everything you need that you often don’t find in Nosara rentals. The view is the best! The AC is powerful. It’s the PERFECT spot for a single or a couple. I hope to go back!

From the moment we booked, Cathy was in touch to offer advice for Costa Rica and also for local recommendations and detailed instructions to get to the property. The photos are beautiful but it’s better in real life! Breathtaking views and a lovely serene setting. Her husband Karl also met us on arrival to personally welcome us to the area and gave great local advice, even arranged a turtle beach tour for that very evening. Small touches made our stay enjoyable and relaxing, we celebrated Christmas there and it is one we won’t forget.

We absolutely loved our stay with Carl and Cathy! The place itself was incredibly clean, comfortable, relaxing, and everything you could want in Nosara. The location is perfect and we loved exploring the town and the beach areas. Carl and Cathy were incredible hosts and we are planning to return very soon.
