Coastal Cottage on Shem Creek - near Sullivan's Island and Downtown

Cute, clean, and in a perfect location. Walking distance to everything near Shem Creek. Parking on site. Would definitely stay here again.

Location, location, location! Our daughter’s wedding was at Alhambra Hall. We live about 60 miles away so we knew we wanted to be closer. We also needed somewhere with outdoor space for our dogs. This was perfect for what we needed. After the event, we enjoyed walking to Shem Creek. The house was comfortable and the bed linens were delightful. The bathroom is tiny but to be expected in a house of this time period. The yard was great for the dogs; better lighting would be a great addition. Joe was very responsive with our pre-check in questions. The posting didn’t mention that there is a pet fee and another unit that shares the yard. Overall, great choice for our home base during all the festivities!

The place was fine. Basic for what we needed. It was great for my dogs. The area was centrally located to beach and downtown.

The house was in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of many restaurants, which was nice. The home itself was old, but everything was in working order. The one bathroom was teeny tiny. The fenced in yard was why we ultimately chose to rent this property. However, upon arrival we learned we had to share the yard with another rental property and that dogs were not allowed to urinate on the grass. This meant instead of being able to just let our dogs out to do their business, we had to put them on leash, make sure the other renters on the property were not in the yard, and then walk the dogs to the courtyard area of the fenced yard so they could do their business on the wood chips. We stayed for over a week, and so did the other renters on the property, so this became pretty inconvenient. If we had known we would be sharing a common space with others in a fenced in yard that the dogs were not able to roam free in then we likely would have chosen another property for our stay.

The location was wonderful! Close to the boardwalk and great restaurants! The cottage was cozy and clean. We loved the courtyard in the back!

Cute little cottage, conveniently located! We enjoyed our stay - do wish there was more grass on the property for the pup, since it is asked to not allow dogs to urinate on the grass inside the fenced yard.

This was a wonderful property in an awesome location. A hidden gem steps from Shem Creek, with close access to all the restaurants and bars. The host was super nice and even mailed me items that I left behind.

Location Location LOCATION! While this property had everything we needed and was very clean, the location is what will absolutely make us gravitate back to this home every time we come back to Mt. Pleasant!

Great house and great location. Only issue is that back yard is a shared space with a separate studio rental. Would have not been an issue with me personally if it were properly outlined and communicated in the listing. This is not outlined in the listing description and was not communicated until we received the keys and check in info just days before the listing. Everything else with the house was great.

Great location, easy check in, and parking right by the front door! Unit is a workin in progress, needs attention in the bathroom such as towel bars and maybe safety grab bar in the shower, shower fixtures need updating with maybe the addition of a hand held shower head.Both bedrooms were great and well supplied with great linens. The kitchen was well appointed, however, could use updated set of complete flatware.Any of the deficiencies are out-weighed by the location!

Very nice spot in a great location!

We came in town for a little league baseball tournament at Shipyard Park. This location was perfect, not too far from the park and many great restaurant choices nearby and in walking distance. The house itself is super cute, not too fancy, but everything you need with a great little backyard. Communication with the owner was perfect and we had no issues at all. I would recommend this rental. We had 2 adults and 2 small dogs.

Great place. Exactly as described. Great location too. Many activities were easily walkable and easy quick drive to the beach and downtown. Great communication with host. We would definitely stay here again.One suggestion would be to have beach towels/chairs for guest use. I think this would be a nice perk and added bonus, but would stay here again regardless.

The property is located within walking distance of all the places we love in Shem Creek. The house was perfect for our stay. It was extremely comfortable, well appointed, tastefully decorated and well stocked. We can hardly wait to come back again!

This home was in the perfect location! Walking distance from coffee shops, restaurants, shopping, and activities on Shem Creek! The perfect quiet place for a couple or small family. We felt safe and enjoyed every minute!

This was a perfect stay for my husband and me. Is as quaint and lovely as the pictures show. So conveniently located to Shem Creek and lots of fantastic nearby restaurants there in Mount Pleasant. You can easily get to Charleston, although Mount Pleasant was wonderful in itself and this little cottage was even lovelier. Highly recommend!

We rented this house for our florists to stay in while they decorated for my son's wedding. They loved their stay and were very happy with everything there.

The place was very close to everything. We could walk to dinner. It was just the right size and had all the conveniences provided. Very clean and the beds were so comfortable.

The house is in a great location for walking to restaurants or anything you may need, getting to Charleston, Folly Beach, and Isle of Palms. The property has a nice and quaint fenced in backyard. Joe, was very responsive with any needs. I would stay at one of Joe's properties again.

We wanted a pet friendly place to stay for the month of November. This unit was wonderfully located central to Shem Creek and Old Village. The unit is a bit tired, but to be expected in a unit that is pet friendly. You are primarily paying for the location. I would stay here again in a second if I knew the mold problem was resolved. There was mold and some moisture near the vents in the bathroom and in one of the bedrooms. Otherwise good. Perfect gated area to let our dogs out. Felt very safe and kitchen was wonderfully functional. Lots of shelves and storage. Would have loved a bit of a furniture upgrade in the living room (a bigger couch and less knick knacks). My husband was not a fan of the TV (no smart TV availability). All in unit appliances worked great.

Cute 2 bedroom cottage. What used to be all over old village. Close to everything - restaurants, beach, downtown. Well stocked kitchen. It was my spouse and me plus 2 dogs stayed for almost a month. Fenced in side yard made it feel larger. I would definitely stay again. There is another house in the backyard with its own fenced in yard. When we were there both tenants were very nice and friendly.

Adorable house nestled in the middle of everything. Great location, walking distance to restaurants and shopping, minutes away from downtown Charleston. Joe was an awesome host and was very prompt in his correspondence and attention to details at the property. Can’t wait to come back!

The bathroom was too small not enough for four adults the vent in the bath looked like black mold couch in front room had food spots no comfortable chairs for sitting after a day of sight seeing overall not happy

Cozy stay in a cute well-kept home. Nice little backyard area for when the dogs needed to stretch their legs. Nice outside seating area. Best of all was the location! So close to everything. House was a bit small for 4 people and pets, but definitely enough space for my husband and I. We will visit again.

A little cozy for two couples but works well for three nights

Unfortunately we didn’t not get to make it down because of work. We let the owner know and he was very understanding.

Unfortunately, the ceiling vents had mold, including the surrounding ceiling, which was concerning. The owner was there everyday, which made using the back yard/patio uncomfortable, so we didn't. I wouldn't have booked, had I known.

We loved our stay, perfect space and location for us, moving our daughter from one apartment to another downtown and grabbing some beachtime in between!
