Welcome to The Warren!

Overlooking Norwood Cove and the Causeway club, The Warren is easily within walking distance of downtown Southwest Harbor and nearly across the street from the Charlotte Rhodes butterfly garden.

This charming, vintage, and fully equipped house is available to rent for the first time ever! I have been vacationing here with friends and family since 2009 and very recently purchased the house from an old friend. My son and I still use it to this day and it remains my favorite place on earth! Elegant, relaxed, and everything thats lovely about being Downeast.

A large, fairly secluded deck and backyard is perfect for entertaining, grilling, enjoying the fire pit, or playing croquet!

Bar Harbor and all that means is only a 15 minute as are nearly every portion of Acadia National Park. I am happy to provide ample recommendations for both.

Hiking, kayaking, canoeing, boat tours, dining, LOBSTER, and plain old relaxation all around!

The Warren is a magical place you and your family and/or friends experience Maine as, indeed, the way life should be.

NOTE:
AppleTV + Wifi available. If you prefer to have an unplugged trip, let me know and I can switch them off :)

The fireplace in the Library does work, though we request only using Durflame logs to preserve the integrity of the chimney.

NO smoking inside the house.

Grill, croquet gear, and fire-pit provided!

The dishwasher and fridge are dated, please treat them according.

Please remove all food stuffs upon departure!

This is an old farmhouse and it has character. We found the location to be good for our needs, the kitchen to contain the essentials and we enjoyed our stay.

Great location to Acadia park and comfortable stay! Fit all 7 of us perfectly and the grill and fire pit were great to have for burgers and smores. Perfect location for hiking Acadia and exploring Bar harbor. Would highly recommend!

All went well at our stay, large home with bedrooms for diverse age family. Kitchen fully outfitted with every type of dish, pot, utensil, appliance that one could need.Especially enjoyed extensive collection of books and brochures on history of Acadia and surrounding area.

This house is in a great location & made a fantastic home base for us rusticators. We accessed the whole island easily, including bicycling the Acadia carriage roads, hiking Cadillac Mountain, shopping in SW & NE Harbor, walking to Bar Island, sand dollar hunting at Seal Harbor Beach, dining in Bar Harbor and an evening sail on the Margaret Todd. Handy maps & guides helped with planning our activities. Loved gatherings in the well-stocked kitchen which easily supported baking scones, prepping lunches or dinners. The deck was a fun place to hang out & play cards, and we took advantage of the charcoal grill as well. Conveniently provided were sundries like paper towels, spices, trash bags & saran wrap. Bathrooms had plenty of fresh towels, shampoo & soap. A older party member felt there were not enough comfortable places to sit -much of the furniture is older or antique. Beds & bedrooms were comfortable with plenty of linens, but only one bed suitable for an adult couple. Overall, being in the house was like being invited into a home where generations have lived and loved. The art, books, and antiques around the place lend an eclectic and cultured vibe with a touch of mystery - the collectors of these books were curious people and loved nature, history, theology, art & literature. Examining them reveals the names of family members and handwritten notes & poems fall from pages of the books. Nathan was great & very responsive to any questions we had. Would definitely stay again.

A wonderful location for a short getaway to tour Acadia Natl Park and Bar Harbor. Loved the old New England style of the house. Great to have a first floor bedroom and bath. Made great use of the outdoor deck and saw deer and porcupines in the yard. Much better than a hotel stay for our group of 5. Milagro coffee is a short walk for good coffee and breakfast choices. Highly recommend Geddy’s in Bar Harbor for great seafood options! Thanks for your hospitality Nathan

Old quirky home with a huge personality. Very roomy with places for people to be together or find solitude. Decorated with loads of interesting pieces and a good collection of books including information on the area which really helped us decide on what to do each day. The best equipped vacation rental I’ve been in. We loved the fire pit and enjoyed the resident deer. The location was perfect for us, close to hikes and away from crowds
